About This File

**This removes the nag screen that informs you if a rom doesn't work correctly, or if at all, if you use this no nag, then please do NOT go to the mame support site with issues with games, please only use if you understand that there will be no help from anyone at mamedev as you are using a modified version of mame.

Contents: mame.exe - Normal Mame with Nags removed. (Note mame no longer carries the 64 in its exe name changed by Devs in 0.229)

This version also allows the games Akai Katana and Dodonpachi Saidaioujou  to be played.

It's advisable to download the full mame official pack and install it, then just overwrite the exe with the replacement, this covers any changes the mame devs may have made to the support files.

After you have done this, make sure you copy the folders artwork, ctrlr, cheat, hlsl, ini, folders and the ini files from the root of your original mame folder, and move/copy them to the new install.

If you are using your own installed/setup of mame then make sure you also set in the mame.ini  'Skip_gameinfo  1'

If you got Launchbox to setup mame for you when asked, you only need to replace the exe and play.

As some are not sure about  False Positives, and report a virus was detected, As goes for all versions i upload, they are all ran through virustotal before i upload, and if by any chance something did end up with an issue it would be noticed very quickly after upload and would be removed/restricted.

0.280 - VirusTotal - File - 98f076cadfafd3b331499a2047bd626a29726485d4e8bd7e4dfc8e754d37e68b

All NEW versions of the No-Nag will be posted in this download thread only, if you wish to get the new releases every month, either follow myself or the thread, As the download section will not show any new releases.

Released

Source reddit mame:

MAME 0.280

It’s been a month, so it must be time for MAME 0.280 to be released! One interesting addition this month is the very rare 1986 arcade game 119 from Coreland and Sega (the game is named after the ambulance/fire emergency telephone number used in Japan). If you’ve been following along with the work on Namco System 23 emulation, you can now see several more video hardware features emulated. Sound issues in Konami’s Golfing Greats have finally been fixed properly.

You’ll also find improved Acorn BBC Micro emulation, a few more working TV games and handheld multi-game systems, and quite a few more playable video gambling systems. Improvements to Mega Drive emulation fix issues with some of the more sensitive games on the system. A number of graphical glitches plaguing arcade games have been solved, too.

You can read about everything we’ve been working on over the past few weeks in the whatsnew.txt file. As always, source code and full 64-bit Windows binary packages are available from the mamedev.org download page.

Thanks again! I really appreciate your work.

I have another small request: would it be possible to include the DAT files as well?

After each MAME update, I find myself checking this page more than a hundred times to see if the new DATs are available:

It would be fantastic if, once MAME is updated, we could immediately use RomVault or any other tool to verify our sets, what’s complete and what’s still missing.

Thanks again for all your efforts!

Sorry, but as this is a modified mame, the dat set would be incomplete as there are 2 games that are re added by me, so no unfortunately i cant add the dats, and i no longer use dats.

As for normal dats just search 'pleasuredome git' in your fave search engine, you will find them on there fairly easily, or you could create the dats with clrmamepro and the mame.exe (this last one does have some draw backs though)

Followed every instruction in these comments to the letter, still getting nagged when I launch a game. Using MAME 279, really not sure why it isn't working.

You to be a bit a little more descriptive on what is showing up on your screen, or a screenshot, this will help narrow down somethings. (are you running mame as a standalone emulator, or are you using the Launchbox installation, as these require two different approaches.) Some times people mistake what this actually does and removes, we will try to help you as much as we can, but as you are the only one reporting an error, it must be a simple error, that can probably be remedied easily.

Most times just replacing the exe file in you mame setup will result in it working, if you run a standalone version that you installed manually (not using Launchbox's install option) you need to edit the mame.ini and just make sure  'Skip_gameinfo  1' is set. Thats all there is to it, you will know if its working as when you run a game that has a yellow/red warning will show a Warning Information option in the Tab menu when you are in the game.
