  1. wow where did you find those pictures from, I tried searching for it under Coktel and Sierra and found absolutely nothing. What is it you're asking me to do exactly?
  2. aww crap, sorry about that...it all looks normal until you actually try to download a rom and then it comes up unavailable. Luckily the couple of other sites I use haven't been effected so far.
  3. emuparadise? If that's what you were referring to I just checked it and it loaded for me. Considering you can get a 2TB HDD for around 50 dollars I personally wouldn't go smaller than that, and yeah a large external backup drive to backup both of your system is a good idea. Just make sure you check reviews on whichever one you decide on before you get it, they tend to run hot and blow the control board that's inside the case and then you end up having to crack it open and install it directly in the system anyways or buy a new casing/control board for it. I haven't messed around with texture packs as of yet, but I can say just from my personal experience emulating games, I think they're definitely worth giving a try. Some games and systems age well and others will just plain out make your eyes bleed trying to play them.
  4. Not sure if this will help it or not but you could always try running joy.cpl and recalibrating your controller and see if that helps.
  5. yeah but the problem with that is you said you were trying to do this as cheap as possible and more ssds are pretty much going to bend you over without lube price wise for enough storage space to make it worth it. That being said, if you think you've got run to sneak in another ssd or two then you could always go with a 2tb 2.5 inch laptop hdd or two which would only raise the cost per drive about 20 dollars from the more standard 3.5 inch drives. Incase you're not familair with the difference here's a 2.5 inch laptop hdd for example: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01C4W2P18/ref=psdc_1254762011_t2_B010CBASS0
  6. That's a nice setup you've got going there. And you already started down the rabbit hole the second you started getting into emulation. lol
  7. Don't make me go Roger Rabbit on your ass and get out the DIP!!
  8. I'm going to make a suggestion that may or may not get me murdered on here. Keep the 120gb ssd just for your operating system, anti-virus, winrar or other rar/zip program, and other basic system stuff like that. This will leave you with plenty of ssd space and you can easily create a restore image of it. Then since their cheap pick up two 2tb hdd drives, one for launchbox and all of the games and one to use as a backup drive or if you manage to run out of space on the first 2TB drive. This way the system can easily be backup and/or restored and if the worst happens you won't have to spend all that time getting all of your games, images, etc. all over again. I personally went so far in my setup as to set up a custom file structure for launchbox, games, emulation, saves, and cheat codes just to make it even more resistant to errors. D:\Emulation D:\Emulation\Launchbox D:\Emulation\ConsoleOrSystemName (Emulator, Saves, Cheat codes subfolders) D:\Emulation\Images\ConsoleOrSystemName (could be changed to media folder name with video, box art, etc. subfolders) These are just an example of how I set mine up. I know you're probably asking why since launchbox has all of that inside its own folder system, but early on when I first got launchbox, etc. I ran into an error that actually required me to do a fresh install of launchbox and I had to redo everything from scratch, whereas now if I ever have another problem like that I can simply point launchbox to where the files are located. anyways just my suggestion, take it or leave it.
  9. I could be wrong but I think in this case the discussion was assuming the boxes were being made with the official art. When I said that about 3D box art not commercially existing, I was referring to virtual 3d boxes, so they are all technically fan art. The real problem is how would you determine an official box from a fan art one for a game that doesn't even have one, but it's still using the artwork on say steam as the 3d box front, technically it's official artwork, but the rest of the box would be fan art. That's where the real problem would lay when it comes to having separate categories for 3d virtual boxes.
  10. Since 3D box art is something that doesn't exist commercially there wouldn't be a need for separate categories for official or fan art.
  11. Sorry it took so long but I finally got the "Darby the Dragon" stuff done. I added it to the GamesDB and it's currently awaiting moderation, but I'm going to put a link to it here as well because I've added the .psd files, including one that can be used as a template for recreating the borderbund user guides. Link to .rar file: http://www.mediafire.com/file/x0pxv2u2dm52p3h/Darby_The_Dragon_Finished.rar/file
  12. Well here's the progress so far, the front is pretty much done unless there's something you want changed. It's 1514 x 1892 I'll get started on the back and side panels in the morning, I need a bit of a break.
  13. Oh awesome, thanks. The will definitely help. I have 90% of the box front done, now it's mostly just the gradients for the colored bars on the top side and bottom of the box front and then trying to match up the rest of the text on it.
  14. On the spine of the Darby box between the dragon and the blue discovery bar at the very bottom of the box, does anyone know what that graphic is? I think it's their rectangular PC CD-Rom Disc graphic but I can't tell for sure. PS: I need to take a bit of a break because my eyes keep going all wonky from staring at pixels for so long a stretch but I have about 3/4ths of the original artwork cleaned up for your repo box. After working on this thing all day I might very well need a drink, but unfortunately the farthest I've ever been outside of this shithole aka THe USA is Canada so don't think I'll be getting to your part of the world anytime soon, but thanks for the offer.
  15. Well I got all of the different sections isolated, but the actual art section was driving me nuts because there was so much artifacting and grim on it, especially on the clouds so I decided to just redo them and then noticed how bad the sky and the rest of it was so now I'm a few hours into completely cleaning it all by hand and then I can get back to finishing up the box front. Then i'll get started on the box back.
  16. I've had maybe 5 hours of sleep in the past three days so I'm going to attempt to get a couple of hours sleep and then when I wake up I'll see what I can do with it.
  17. I looked around as well and couldn't find anything else either. If you don't mind a repro box then I can try taking the artwork from one of the few boxes there are and recreate the english box front. While there's no images of the actual box back, Broderbund boxes weren't all that complex and there's plenty of game images that I could try to make a mock box back if you don't mind that. Let me know if this is something you want me to mess around with and see what I can come up with, also what image size if anything specific do you want?
  18. I think there's a lot of us outside of the themes, etc. making art on here, especially with box art reconstructions and fan art boxes which is what I've been doing a lot of lately.
  19. I guess hiring that monkey with the whip paid off, you got those last features done wicked fast. lol
  20. Didn't anyone tell you, until @Jason Carr gets launchbox.next done we've hired a trained monkey with a whip and an unlimited supply of redbull to keep him working 24/7, we even took away those pesky things like food, bathroom breaks, and sleeping so he doesn't have to worry about distractions. Granted by the time he's done with the full .next update his fingers will be nothing but bones, but there are still rumors of a new He-man live action movie, so we'll just count it as helping him prepare to audition for the skeletor role. Then maybe he can get back to doing other things like live streams, showering, you know those luxuries in life. PS: I have no idea who the "We' is in any of this and I totally just pulled this whole thing out of my ass, but with how hard he's been working on the next update I thought this might give Jason a laugh if he sees it. PSS: okay Jason you saw it, now he back to work before the monkey strikes, he gets paid a banana chip per whipping. BTW awesome work on the .next updates so far
  21. Well now don't I just feel stupid. lol The only media I have downloaded is the box art for all of my games so I've never messed around with any of the videos and music so I've never actually messed with the volume knob or anything and never even knew it was anything more than a static graphic. lol
  22. Q: how many forum users/mods/creator of the freaking program does it take to fix audio in launchbox.next A: 1 Knob!! lol That was funny as hell seeing ya'll figure out it was the volume. seriously thou maybe some type of indication that the knob's volume is on 0/mute ?
  23. This isn't an emulator I'm familiar with or use but I did some digging on Google. Not sure if the option was there in the xm6g version the original poster was using, but it does have an option to save the previous screen settings so really all you'd have to do is select that option in the menu and then just make sure you're closing out of the emulator while it's still in fullscreen mode.
  24. Okay so I finished going through the 10 comics, added the missing spacer sheets and went ahead and converted them to .cbz files. I tested them all in Sumatra (didn't try CDisplayEX because it tries to force you to install other stuff) and they all worked fine. If anyone wants a copy I put them on my personal Mediafire with open share so feel free to grab a copy. http://www.mediafire.com/file/4tj79f7cjbsyibl/Atari_Comics.rar/file PS: @DOS76 sorry for kind of stealing your thread, just didn't see the point in making a new one for the same thing.
