  1. Wow Rob!! You're a fast worker mate. Excellent work. A big thank you for the improvements. I'll look forward to getting this installed on my cab. Many thanks 🙂
  2. That would be brilliant if you could. I second @Kalish777 above that the blurry filler effect is superb and helps to make any marquee look good on any ratio screen.
  3. Nothing to see here.... move along please........ A MASSIVE thank you!!! That has sorted it!! I also had copies of the Quiz Machines xml in the Platform folder (Quiz Machines - copy.xml etc). Really appreciate you pointing me in the right direction for that one. I would have never got to the bottom of it without you. Cheers
I've not tried the other 'refried' themes but this is awesome. Really like that it minimises 'clicks' to get to your favourites and also clearly shows the 'recently played' which is handy for me as I often find games I like and then forget what they were called. Loving the theme so far and it's now pride of place on my cab. Thanks for sharing it with the community and keep up the great work 🙂
  4. Hi all, This is a strange one. I'm trying to sync my arcade cab software with my backup that I keep on my home PC. I've copied everything over apart from the image cache folder (LB and BB) and Core / Backups folder. On my arcade the games have the correct additional apps.... But on my main PC the additional apps are showing like this?? The Platform is called "Quiz Machines" so I've tried copying the Quiz Machines.xml from the arcade to the main machine but to no avail. I've even copied the entire Data folder from the arcade cab to the main PC but it didn't help either? So, does anyone know where it's storing the info to tell LB that it needs to overwrite my Quiz Machines.xml with this old version of the additional apps? Thanks for your help - it's driving me nuts!
  5. Found this topic as I would also like to know the answer to this? Thanks
  6. ** Edit ** - found them - for anyone else in the same boat, they're here --> https://www.launchbox-app.com/android-license Hi all, I've just bought an Nvidia Shield and installed LB. I've set anything up yet as I'm still working it all out (read: watching YouTube videos). But I thought I'd buy a license for it (I already have a lifetime license for my cab but would like a separate one for the Shield to support Jason and the team). On the license page it just says "Windows Licensing Options" and doesn't mention Android? Is this just a throwback to the time when there wasn't an Android version or are the Android licenses hiding somewhere else?? Thanks 🙂
Superb images! These images along with the new 3D box feature has transformed the look of my PS1 platform! Thank you 🙂
Excellent collection! Thanks for all your hard work putting these together 🙂
  7. Sounds like we're cut from the same cloth mate. I'm the same
  8. Personally, I'm a much more "chill" player. I really love the high scores but in a casual way. Whenever you introduce some sort of scoring/measuring system into anything then there will be people who will either try and fudge the system or will go to extremes in order to be at the top spot. Good luck to them I say. If someone really wants to spend 9 hours playing a single game then they can. I always mentally discount ridiculous scores anyway as I couldn't (and probably wouldn't want to) compete with that. I normally look for the scores around my level and those are my rivals.... I finish a game of Frogger and find that I'm only 300 points off beating "TurktheGreat" then I'm chucking in another virtual coin and going again.... that's where the fun is for me. Scores of 1,343,553 by "NeverhadaFriend" are not going to be of concern to me. If these things *do* bother people then the answer is to introduce an "Ultimate Scores" board that filters out the top 5 or so ? of the global high scores, removes them from the main board and puts them on their own high score board. This would filter cheaters and people with mega-large scores and leave the rest of the board for 'normal' players. It would also please the 'extreme' players to vie for top spot on the Ultimate Board!
  9. Brilliant news! Thanks for letting us know 🙂
  10. Thanks Neil. I didn't even know we had a Discord channel - although, to be honest, I'm not a fan of Discord. It's one long stream of chat and doesn't really suit to archiving information like a forum does.
  11. Wow! I didn't realise you meant 'every' game! That's impressive mate - well done... no wonder you're looking for a place to tell the world I hope you're not in front of me at Toki....? Hopefully one of the mods will be able to take this as a suggestion and see if there's a wider appetite for it. I would certainly love it. And it would encourage many more visits to the forum.
  12. Well done!! What game did you do it in? A separate forum for bragging rights etc was discussed but don't think it's been implemented (I've not seen it yet anyway).
  13. I'm not as sold on this idea. I think it would maybe over-complicate things. The scores then with an asterisk could be from anything - infinite lives or some other tweak. Personally (and, just an opinion) I prefer nice and simple. Non-tweaked official versions of the game are counted and that gives assurance that the other people on the same high score board were playing the same game as you. Nothing to stop people tweaking things to play the game for their own enjoyment and to beat their own personal bests - but I don't think their scores should be recorded on LB/BB.
  14. I really like this idea. It would help tie peoples forum username to their high score username and be able to have a bit of banter and get some tips on how to improve etc. It would also be fuel for ETA Prime or a.n.other to do a YouTube video showing how to play the game of the week (or just featured games - maybe across a few different genres so there's something everyone). If we have a (for instance) Donkey Kong thread within the High Score forum then it could be used to give tips on how to get a high score, a bit of trash-talk/banter, helping if someone had a problem with the game or was stuck at a certain part etc. It would be more 'game focussed' than LB/BB focussed? The only downside I could see with this is whether we would be straying into bad legal territory with this? If someone (heaven forbid) didn't have the necessary rights to play the game but we were all talking about a certain game then (from the outside) it would look like we were sharing the game around and that could transition in legal hot water?? Not sure though... probably not as there seems to be plenty of forums discussing games so I can't see there being issues.....
  15. Definitely. The High Score table is one of my favourite features.
  16. Yep, I was thinking of having 2 platforms in BB. Spectrum - Controller and Spectrum - Keyboard (as there will be quite a lot of games that a controller won't work for). I'm not sure if that's a good idea or not? What do you think? For the Controller one I'll just use Kempston as a base as you advise. As I said, Speccy was my first computer so I would love to get a load of the old games working. Was playing Jet Set Willy earlier and even the music brought a big smile to my face.
  17. Ahhh... okay so I managed to pick the one game with problems Yep, sounds like me. Thanks for all your help
  18. @neil9000 not really on-topic but I just tried your method tonight - I set up a new install of RetroArch - I entered the Quick Menu and changed controls for Player 1 to a Kempston joystick. I then started Atic Atac and chose the Kempston joystick and my little knight just runs to the top right of the room and constantly fires without any keys on my controller being pressed? I am using a cheap 'wired' X-box 360 controller and, in the main controls for Player 1 (i.e. NOT the quick menu but the global menu) it shows up fine? Do I need a different type of physical controller? Or am I missing a setting somewhere? I only ask as the Spectrum is my favourite platform and the reason for my misspent youth. I would love to be able to quickly get 95% of the games working with a controller if it was possible. Thanks for your help
  19. Thanks @faeran that's handy to know I'm not sure if I'll be able to achieve what I want in this instance. My game has a 'fixed' key of "P" for Pickup. I can turn on Game Focus but I think LB/BB will still pick up on "P" being pressed and show the Pause screen. I can turn off Pause in LB/BB but then that applies to every game on every system which I don't want. I'm not sure there's a solution for this particular problem at the moment? Really appreciate you adding your advice though
  20. Okay, thanks. That's a generic setting unfortunately. But, not to worry, I'll try messing around with the settings in Retroarch and see if there's some way of doing it for that game specifically. Thanks for all your help
  21. I'll be definitely trying your Kempston tip!! Thanks!!! I've previously been trying to map keys individually on each game. I've done about 10 of my favourites but it's really laborious. Didn't realise there was a quick way!! Soooo glad I spoke to you before I embarked on doing a lot more. I checked Tools/Options/Controller Mappings in LB and I don't have anything mapped to the Pause button?? Am I supposed to have Enable Game Controller ticked? And then put something in the Pause mapping?? Also, is it definitely Launchbox I should be in? I use Big Box on my machine? Just want to make sure I'm tinkering with the right bit? Thanks for your help (and patience!)
