  1. I've not heard anyone have this issue before, could you give me an example of a game you are seeing this with?
  2. Just so we are clear, that Release Type field does have drop down values for what the DB currently uses, but you CAN put anything you want in that field. If you want to use Beta in that field for your library you have that option. You can also bulk edit games and change that field en masse to make things easier on you.
  3. When this feature is on after you download an image it attempts to look at both images to see if they are the same image (visually speaking) if so the tool keeps the best quality image and deletes the lesser quality image. Leaving this one helps find and remove duplicates but at the cost of severely increased download/processing time.
  4. Could potentially just use the Release Type field to auto-generate playlists as well. Set up a "Hacks" playlist for games with "Hack" as the release type sort of thing.
  5. No there is no way to leave the hierarchy you are describing without each of those subsections being their own platform.
  6. Yeah. I believe it is. Always throws me off when people bring it up because to me SVN means Subversion, which is a source control application, so I have NO idea why it would ever be included with a project anyway. I'm sure the plugin has it's reason for the folder and it's contents, just the name gets me every time lol
  7. The way that device reports itself may not allow for that to happen. I have access to one of these, later tonight I will try it and let you know if I have the same issue and if I find a work around.
  8. Yeah. LaunchBox doesn't create or use a SVN folder so that would only ever be caused by a plug in. Glad you were able to get it all sorted out.
  9. LaunchBox HAS a Series view which can be used to group all games of the same series together. On the left sidebar Platform is default, just change that to series. If you need a playlist for that series at that point just select all and add them to a playlist (or create the auto-gen with that value if more desirable for your set up)
  10. LaunchBox image hierarchy works as follows: Platform > Image Type > Region As long as the files are named in a way LaunchBox expects, copying the images from the region folder you have them to the appropriate region folder of the correct image type SHOULD work (unless I am misunderstanding your picture)
  11. I think making reporting incidents like this easier would be far more beneficial than plastering a users name in the open. Displaying their name opens up the possibility of the following to occur (and given that this is the internet they are almost guaranteed to happen): 1. DB Mods will simply ignore or automatically reject anything from that user regardless of accuracy simple because THAT user was the one making the change 2. DB Mods will call out and harass said user both publicly and privately 3. Less people would post changes because they would be afraid of falling victim to points 1 and 2
  12. Should already be able to. And is used for different fields, OR is used if the same field is selected multiple times. In your example the current feature would already do what you are requesting.
  13. Images like screenshots would take a bit longer to load via symlink (only because they potentially are travelling via network and not just the HDD I/O), but as long as you don't move and sym the image cache folders box art and menu art shouldn't take any longer if cached already.
  14. I am referring specifically to the Download Metadata and Media tool in the Tools dropdown menu of LaunchBox (used to grab media for several games at once). Adding media of any sort via the Add/Edit Game screen doesn't check for duplicates and will pull anything you tell it to, regardless if you have it or not.
  15. Big Box uses WPF to render the UI which uses Direct X when possible, with a fallback to software renderer. Because of this a GPU GREATLY improves performance because you now have a dedicated card handling any rendering/image requests which then also frees up the CPU to be used more heavily by the data heavy processes.
  16. Typically you can do this pretty easily, You just need to change a Platforms folder to point to the network location and LB will do the rest for you. I believe however that Exodos collection (especially v5) expects it to be in the root LaunchBox directory and may break if you try to run it from another location.
  17. Sounds like you guys are having issues with your settings files being locked and LB being forced to wait to open and write to them. I would verify the following: 1) You have proper permissions to the \\LaunchBox\Data\ folder and that folder (as well as the files in it) some how didn't get marked as Read-Only 2) You don't have any file syncing software like Dropbox trying to sync files while we are trying to write to them, causing a lock 3) You don't have any drive errors causing read/write errors
  18. I can double check, but the Download Metadata and Media tool should not download another video if you already have one of the same type unless you tell it to. I'll verify that that logic is working as intended. That being said, if you tell it to download both Video Snap videos as well as theme videos and you only have one of them it will (and should) download the other type that you were missing.
  19. You should receive a License.xml file by email. You need to place that file in the root of the LaunchBox directory while LaunchBox and Big Box are closed, then open either one and it should detect the license.
  20. If there is an image type you previously downloaded that you now have no interest in keeping the fastest/easiest way is to just delete the image folder for that image type. It can be found at \\LaunchBox\Images\{Platform Name}\{Image Type}\
  21. You have several things going on in your log file, many of which are typically related to drive permissions. Where is your LaunchBox installed? Also if you haven't already I would run the installer over the current location to make sure you have all dependencies installed correctly on the new machine as there are several errors finding system dlls that should already be installed to your machine. Lastly can you remove any plugins you are using and see if that helps? Some of the errors are for libraries we don't use in the product and so I would imagine you have a plugin not playing nice some where along the line.
  22. I've never heard of an update doing anything like what you are referring to. Can you give me the following information: The location your LB install The location of your images The location of your games Where LB is looking for the images (or you believe it to be looking) Where LB is looking for the games (or you believe it to be looking)
  23. If you turn on debug logs, then try to play the game there should be a message in there as to why it wasn't opened correctly.
  24. No, for some reason some games don't report back correctly via Steam API. I know some games are removed from the API (or pulled from Steam Store) for one reason or another but I don't know where to find any list that we could check against to see if that is why. If you know what game is missing you can manually add the game and put the right Steam path in the game's application path, then all the Steam features should work with it. Not ideal, but gives you something to work with in the interim.
  25. Yeah sounds like attract mode is starting up. Just turn that off.
