  1. Inside of LaunchBox in the Options menu (found in tools) you can enable updating to beta releases. Then go to the Help menu and select "Check for Updates"
  2. If you're on 13.8 this a known issue caused by changes M$ made to their backend recently. You'll want to update to the beta track to be able to run the wizard again.
  3. If it's talking about Xbox or Epic you can turn off the auto import via the settings with LB closed to get around that.
  4. Help > Check for updates. If you've opted in for beta updates it'll detect it and install it
  5. @skizzosjt @faeran Neither of you are operating the drive on a Mac though correct? I believe the thing that may be causing issues are the hidden files Mac computers put in the directory (don't recall the exact file name). @Slag-O-Matic if you drag/drop the rom files from the folder to LaunchBox from the drive location do you still get the error? If not I'd assume it's that file causing issues.
  6. It's more likely that you have a firewall blocking traffic for some reason, or there is a down server somewhere in the line from your computer to our server. I haven't heard of any reports of some one being unable to grab the update, or timing out near as often as you are saying you are.
  7. The latest beta increases the timeout period on downloads and may help with this issue. If you haven't already I'd go in Tools > Options and check into beta updates and then update to the latest via the Help > Check for Updates to grab the beta update.
  8. No this change was related to people getting Epic Games and Xbox null reference errors on application startup.
  9. Beta has been pushed that should resolve this issue. Please update and let us know if that is not the case.
  10. Beta has been pushed with related changes. Please update to the beta and let us know if it resolves the issues for you all.

    Idioma

If you're referring to game descriptions and other fields grabbed from our database then unfortunately we only store English strings at the time. Our UI has a Spanish translation you can select, but the actual game descriptions would still be in English. The only DB I know of that has language in it is ScreenScraper.fr. You could potentially scrape your games with Skraper and then apply to LaunchBox. That being said the files they generate and where they put them has caused many issues in the past so make sure you back up your data before moving ahead with that path if you choose to.
  12. Both emulators last I knew are extremely dated and really shouldn't used last I knew. I'd recommend updating to more modern emulators and seeing if you still have any issues.
  13. The way you worded this isn't possible. LaunchBox doesn't play the game at all. I assume you mean in game if launched via LaunchBox. It's still your emulator PLAYING the game, we aren't. That being said, what emulator are you using and having the issue in?
  14. All that data is stored in the Data folder in a file called Settings.xml
  15. I'd have to track it down, but pretty sure there is a plugin here on the forums a user made that allows you to control things like what screen a game is launched on.
  16. You referring to sound in LaunchBox/Big Box or sound in the game? What issue are you having? If the sound is cutting in and out it's almost always a framerate issue, either because your refresh rate isn't correct (check both Windows display settings as well as the emulators refresh rate/vsync settings) or because your PC is failing to drive the game at the correct framerate (typically 60fps). I've not even heard of sound issues in LB/BB so I don't have any boilerplate advice for you in that regard without more information.
  17. Thanks for the reports. I've tracked down the cause of the issue which is that Microsoft changed a bunch of stuff in their web services and unfortunately broke quite a bit of stuff in doing so (including for them). They have a lot of reported outages/issues they are currently working through on their end and I'm seeing if I can find out if we need to change our logic or if it will get corrected in all the passes they are actively doing on the changes now. I have code changes in place internally that we are testing to at least ensure this process fails more silently and doesn't cause the chaos it is right now. It should be in the next beta release that we hope to drop very early next week.
  18. Pretty sure it's downloading the DirectX runtime package that you can manually grab from here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35. The installer will install/repair the runtime for DX 9,10, & 11 via the single file.
  19. Sounds like your user account doesn't have the proper write permissions to the folder LaunchBox is in then. I will say running as admin can cause other problems related to relative pathing though down the line so I'd suggest moving your install to another location without the permission issues.
  20. Sidebar should save what ever value it was in when you close LaunchBox. Sounds like you may have something either killing the LB process before the save function occurs, or locking the file making it impossible for us to save to disk.
  21. I'd have to see your data files to confirm, but it sounds like you may have imported the ROMs to a custom named platform and either didn't set the scrape as of the platform correctly or it didn't save correctly and so the mass metadata scrape fails to function.
  22. I was able to code changes in place that are currently being reviewed/tested that should correct the issue. I'll do my best to remember to ping ya when they make their way into a beta release so you can try it out and let me know for sure if it resolves the issue.
  23. Nice, glad you were able to figure it out. Thanks for updating the thread and letting us know. Bonus points for it not being something I broke in the code.
  24. @DemiseScythe Thanks again for the additional information. I WAS able to use it to replicate the issue and will see if I can get it resolved and in the next beta release.
  25. Always nice to witness a lurker feel secure enough to step out of the shadows! Welcome to the light! Glad to hear that your experience has been a positive one. No need to be a stranger in the future, and if you run into anything not answered already on the forums don't hesitate to ask.
