  1. Ok, I've taken my best shot at setting up BigPemu up for Atari Jaguar CD and not having much luck. The best that I can get it to do is display the RSOD... I have atari Jaguar set up and working just fine...it's CD that I am having issues with. Here are my Settings in BigPEmu Here are my settings in Launchbox....If i 'uncheck' extract rom to temp folder, then It simply loads to the settings menu in bigpemu Screenshot of bios and emu, this is located seperate from launchbox on the same drive (location of the emu shouldn't matter....) Blue lighting bin/cue format Screenshot of zipped rom files... These files are located on a network drive I will note that If i place an extracted zip in a folder and place that folder in the BigPemu folder and open up BigPemu and play the cue file from there, that the game DOES work...So at this point I'm at a loss because I thought that extracting the zip into a temp folder and loading the game through launchbox was the same behavior as that. Any Help is appreciated. THEORY: I suspect that BigPemu doesn't know where to look for the temp extracted rom...how can I tell bigPemu where the extracted rom is and to load the cue file in the directory of that temp extracted rom? (I thought that's what the Default Command-Line Parameter "%romfile% -localdata" was supposed to do, if "Extract ROM Archives before running" is checked, but that appears not to be true...or there is a disconnect between where launchbox knows the rom is and where it's telling BigPemu to look for the extracted rom...if that's even happening at all.) *Update* Ok, interesting find almost immediately after making this post... apparently having "-localdata" in the default command-line parameters causes Atari Jaguar CD to be problematic with loading for some reason, the documentation defines This argument as... -localdata Reads/writes all user data (configuration, saved states, screenshots, etc.) in a local (next to executable) "UserData" directory instead of the OS-dependent path. I don't know EXACTLY what that means and why it seems to matter, but after removing the flag, Atari jaguar CD's were able to load.... I did have to set my resolution and proper display screen to use...again...which indicates that it's using separate profiles for atari Jaguar and atari jaguar CD, otherwise, this has been solved. I hope that this helps someone in the future figure out why atari jaguar CD's are not able to load.
  2. I didn't really want to do it that way, but until there's a separate core for ws color, then i don't really see any other way unless someone has a better idea. Retroarch desperately needs a settings per core entity option; i.e. if a core contains the ability to play genesis, SMS, SG-1000 and game gear games, then I should have the ability to make shaders and settings for each of those things within a single core, ...it's a glaringly obvious issue in the RA community that it really is work worth doing.
  3. Thanks for the reply, I haven't FULLY dug into the bezel project to find out what all it can/can't do, but there is a convenience factor that I like about it. I'm particular about my setup and like to know how/what things are doing. I ended up 'biting the bullet' and scripting out configs for each wonderswan color game because it seems that beetle wonderswan is THE ONLY core that emulates both... I don't like having to do it that way becaus ei feel like it may risk things being unmanagable down the road, but fortunately the config is pretty simple to recreate if everything completely shits the bed. happy to share it out. This is done in powershell. The slangblock also turns off that dumbass intro sequence... I don't mind it for consoles, but it doesn't make sense to have a fuzzy TV intro for handhelds. $romdirectory = '{your full rom path here}\*' $zipextension = ".7z" $Fullpath = $romdirectory + $zipextension $Retroarchfolderpath = "{your retroarchfolder path here}" $Slangblock = @' #reference ":/shaders/Mega Bezel_Packs/Duimon-Mega-Bezel/Presets/Advanced/Bandai_WonderSwan_Color/WonderSwan_Color-[ADV]-[LCD-GRID].slangp" HSM_INTRO_WHEN_TO_SHOW = "0.000000" '@ # Split into individual lines $filenames = (Get-ChildItem -Path $Fullpath ).BaseName foreach ($filename in $filenames) { $Slangblock|set-content -Path "$Retroarchfolderpath\config\Beetle WonderSwan\$filename.slangp" } The end result is pretty sweet, I have been testing out random games, but have not found any that are vertical orientation yet, they will need to be corrected to vertical orientation if found.
  4. cool source....I notice they're missing Raiden on Atari Lynx though.... I wish there was more 'sources of truth' like this for platform systems out there.
  5. I've reached a point where i don't know whether to zig or zag and I thought of stopping and asking for suggestions before I do anything. I just got done setting up my Wonderswan setup in Retroarch including bezels, backgrounds, shaders overlays saving shaders on horizontal and vertical games as needed and for the most part it's accurate. Now I move on to Wonderswan color and happen to notice that it uses the same core.... Which technically means that that base configurations are just not an option because wonderswan is using them. So my options (as far as I am aware) are... Find an alternate core for wonderswan color Script out unique configurations on a PER GAME basis for ALL GAMES in Wonderswan color (I am fully capable of this, but this option seems like a very cumbersome solution) Find a core splitter to split the mednafen_wswan_libretro.dll core so that I can have configurations for wonderswan and wonderswan color without conflict.... Or lastly, some other alternative solution I a haven't thought of yet. Any help or suggestion here is welcome. Here's some screenshots of my wonderswan setup if it's inspirational, I am basically using just the mega bezel shader for wonderswan with custom backgrounds, typically i use a combination of megabezel and overlays....
  6. wrong....yes...yes it is for everyone Thank you for sharing
  7. Alright, I Think that's about as good as i can do... I'm not a photoshop guru or anything, but having good source material helps
  8. These are good shots, I'll see if i can use them as a ref, thank you!
  9. ok, I'll see if i can get closer thanks for the critique
  10. Ok, I basically built this damn box from scratch....clearly the person who had this box was a smoker. What do you guys think? Is it shit or am I doing this masterpiece of a game, justice. Here's what i started with... And here's where I'm at now....
  11. Wasn't sure the proper forum to post this on, but is there a way to mass add artwork assets to the Games DB site? Reason: Many of the Atari Lynx carts have this style of cart... Which is fine...but I feel like this style of cart is more historically accurate, but the collection I have does have gaps that i've used the previous style to fill
  12. Started making a few of my own fade screens, I'll be sure to include them when I send this.
  13. These are probably the best collection themes I've seen so far. Request Avengers Collection Kingdom Hearts Collection Disney Collection Outrun Collection Star Wars Collection
  14. I started over and did the drag n drop method and it worked without a hitch. WTF...... I truly bet is was windows updates with 24h2 messing with it.... I fought with this for almost an entire day without it working. *shrug* whatever, glad it works now, Thank you @JoeViking245 and @launchretrogirl2562 for your help, I appreciate it
  15. A quick afterthought..... My windows machine is on Windows 11 pro 24H2....which broke a TON of stuff... including HS 1.5.... My machine has recently done an update and HS is working for me again... I wonder if the updates have also had something to do with scummvm and LB ....I have no proof of that being true...but may be a thing. also, definitively, Launchbox does not recognize the bat files as games to import. How do i navigate mass adding games?
  16. Well......good news and bad news........The good news is...I have 1 game working now (3 skulls of the toltecs)....the bad news.... I have absolutely no f**king idea why it works now as opposed to what i was doing before, I've rearranged so many things that I have now confused myself on what i've done. Here's some highlights..... I didn't have a "C:\Users\{INSERT-PC-NAME}\AppData\Roaming\ScummVM " folder at all... I copied the scummvm folder you provided and updated the last browser path and the toltecs path to "..\Launchbox\Games\ScummVM" and "\Launchbox\Games\ScummVM\3 Skulls of the Toltecs (CD DOS)\" Launchbox said that scummvm was out of date. I updated scummvm and now magically I have a scummVM installation in my '..\games\ScummVM\" folder. I updated my settings in LB to match your screenshots and used the epicfail file to put in the 3 skulls folder. At this point I have a scummvm installation in \games, \emulation, and a completely seperate area that i know that has worked with hyperspin that I'm in process of migrating to launchbox. All that said, once I get things cleaned up i think this may get me on the right track once i find out what's working and what isn't. Thank you for the help
  17. Yup, just checked mine last night and it's working too. Now I have a real dilemma on my hands, lol Once i get launchbox fully configured in the way that i want it. I do intend on make a post on my likes dislikes from a pragmatic/constructive point of view (opposed to a bratty kid whiney post). Most of my genuine gripes with it are really small oversights that would be way better if they were solved. Overall, so far I'm digging it. My launchbox setup so far (not lb crashed on me in the first few minutes, but after that it was fine) Here you get to see the loading screens in place.
  18. I mean that would probably be me, but I only share on a specific basis because 1. it's incomplete, 2 separation of duties....having everyone wearing the same T shirt is a bit dangerous. 3. I'm a greedy fuck and I've put in a lot of time scavenging random images off the internet from various sources.
  19. What is a 'large download'? *update*...nvm. I didn't read far enough 4 GB
  20. rlauncher is in desperate need of an update....but no one has the skills or desire to do it. "I can't fathom leaving Rocketlauncher Because of the 2 or 3 features that it does." Yep, I feel that way too, but rlauncher hasn't been cared for long enough that it's eventually just going to rot away. Agent 47 hasn't been fulfilling his duties to upkeep the rlauncher platform. (I will go on record and say i absolutely hate these platform names "hyperspin, launchbox, Big box, community theme creator, rlauncher, etc...that's a moot point now though) When I'm done with these Rlauncher style fades...which i found I can also do gameover screens...haven't tried pause menus yet. I'll release them in a pack (of the consoles i have) and they will all be platform specific. Here is a preview of the rlauncher screens, also I've structured things in such a way that allows for multiple 'game over' screens to be utilized, each time the user quits the game, the game over screen will be different, if they have multiple game over screens.
  21. no point now...In my mind, rlauncher is going to be considered legacy. The idea of rlauncher is great, because of separation of duties, but nobody wants that duty and the people who have that duty don't want to change or improve anything...or cant. As i learn more about launchbox, it can do pretty much what rlauncher does...but it's just just missing some stuff. Perhaps with my bratty kid bitchyness, that'll improve.
  22. not yet, sorry, I've been doing Launchbox startup screens
