  1. Yup, just checked mine last night and it's working too. Now I have a real dilemma on my hands, lol Once i get launchbox fully configured in the way that i want it. I do intend on make a post on my likes dislikes from a pragmatic/constructive point of view (opposed to a bratty kid whiney post). Most of my genuine gripes with it are really small oversights that would be way better if they were solved. Overall, so far I'm digging it. My launchbox setup so far (not lb crashed on me in the first few minutes, but after that it was fine) Here you get to see the loading screens in place.
  2. I mean that would probably be me, but I only share on a specific basis because 1. it's incomplete, 2 separation of duties....having everyone wearing the same T shirt is a bit dangerous. 3. I'm a greedy fuck and I've put in a lot of time scavenging random images off the internet from various sources.
  3. What is a 'large download'? *update*...nvm. I didn't read far enough 4 GB
  4. rlauncher is in desperate need of an update....but no one has the skills or desire to do it. "I can't fathom leaving Rocketlauncher Because of the 2 or 3 features that it does." Yep, I feel that way too, but rlauncher hasn't been cared for long enough that it's eventually just going to rot away. Agent 47 hasn't been fulfilling his duties to upkeep the rlauncher platform. (I will go on record and say i absolutely hate these platform names "hyperspin, launchbox, Big box, community theme creator, rlauncher, etc...that's a moot point now though) When I'm done with these Rlauncher style fades...which i found I can also do gameover screens...haven't tried pause menus yet. I'll release them in a pack (of the consoles i have) and they will all be platform specific. Here is a preview of the rlauncher screens, also I've structured things in such a way that allows for multiple 'game over' screens to be utilized, each time the user quits the game, the game over screen will be different, if they have multiple game over screens.
  5. no point now...In my mind, rlauncher is going to be considered legacy. The idea of rlauncher is great, because of separation of duties, but nobody wants that duty and the people who have that duty don't want to change or improve anything...or cant. As i learn more about launchbox, it can do pretty much what rlauncher does...but it's just just missing some stuff. Perhaps with my bratty kid bitchyness, that'll improve.
  6. not yet, sorry, I've been doing Launchbox startup screens
  7. Just being honest here, at least a solid 1/3 of this post seems like passive aggressive jabs to me. just saying. Perhaps I'm interpreting it wrong, but I don't like my psychological buttons being pressed. It registers as more deconstructive criticism so that your talents seem better than mine when i never claimed to have any in the first place. That said, I can appreciate different choices, and different creative strengths, it's good to have some checks and balances. That said, a little constructive criticism. The 'lore' of your mortal combat theme would be better suited in a bezel frame off to the side or something, as a user of the them i would find it more annoying than anything else to have moving objects behind menu items that I'm trying to read...similar to your Sonic theme where the moving visuals are off to the side and then having a menu option. The donkey kong loading screen visually is nice...but doesn't tell me anything, perhaps you could add the game history off to the side for something for me to read while i wait for the game to load. The DK load screen is fine...not sure why you have a scrolling pause text item there...again you could have the game description scrolling to make it functionally useful or Just the static "Pause" text item there...else that entire bar is not needed. The super mario loading screen is fine, but there is this annoying black and white bar right in the middle...don't know why that's needed at all. You could make the logo bigger and center it on the screen and it would be much cleaner and more visually appealing. The metroid pause screen is probably the most useful thing, but again as with other pause screens, I would want some additional menu items for things. Not sure what the Umbrella corp OS video is doing. Is that an entire video for the pause screen? If so, that's really long....also good english is "You are Dead"...not "You Are Died". The pause menu for Resident evil, is a bit much for my taste...some people may like it, but not for me. A better design idea would be something styled as an Umbrella Corp OS desktop with the pause menu items somewhere with a T virus schematics video looping in the background.
  8. How political of you. Anyway, Pauses and shutdown screens will be done later. I do wish to add more menus than just save states and manual viewings, if that's even possible. Some of the stuff in your video is visually appealing, but functionally falls short, I would want less video movement in the background of a menu system, it's too distracting. I would prefer more of an interactive menu system, the metroid pause menu is fine, but like i said, I would want some other menus besides just save states and a manual menu. The animation in the background is fine.
  9. Yes, I used the theme creator to make the startup theme, I haven't paid for the software yet so I haven't been able to export the theme. I used retrohumanoids transparency (him and his buddies stole hyperspin from everyone so i dont' feel bad) I took the esrb/favorite images from the gridblock theme, the animation in the middle left, i don't know where that can't from and the tile version of the system name is an image i have stored in hyperspin that i put into LB. The boxart, cart, clearlogo, and text info and background is coming from Launchbox. The font style I want to be system specific, I have all these fonts that I use so they will need to be installed. Happy to include them with the themes.
  10. well after spending most of the day learning the community theme creator thing (terrible name), this is what I came up with...actually kinda better than the original Rlauncher fade ever was...looks more polished. I'd like to make one for each system. This one is just for NES.
  11. You must have your artwork set up differently in terms of clearlogos Most/all of my box art/disc/clear logo/etc is stored inHyperspin/media/system and rlauncher reads those assets from there. Are you saying that clearlogo art would then need to be stored in the rlauncher/media/[system]/[game] folder? The 'stragglers' you mentioned is the exact thing i was refering too about subfolders in LB not being able to be parsed by the rlauncher/launchbox plugin.... I spent a day trying to tinker and fix it or get something workable, but I just couldn't figure out how to get it to parse the subfolders and even if i got it, then there would still be the issue with selecting the correct artwork in the event of multiple discs or duplicate artworks. If we could create a similar fade and pause menu system in launchbox, but have rlauncher do the lifting of configurations, that would really be the best of both worlds....though I worry about artwork duplication...I should know more when getting into it. I was looking into this "Community Theme Creator" Thing...apparently there's a free version and a paid version?.....that 's kinda bullshit...why do i have to pay money to create something that a community will benefit from?...and also that I/myself won't make money from? Who thought that was a good idea...?
  12. The"3 Skulls of the Toltecs (CD DOS)" game is unzipped into a folder and is the only game I'm actually testing...my previous comment was just answering your question as to what most of the games are. When I tried using the scummvm launcher and a batch file was created with it, the batch file itself worked, but it seems that Launchbox does not recognize the batch file when it is imported...so that method seems to not work When I try to just drag n' drop the games in, the folder is recognized and i have also loaded the game into scummvm, according to the video, i should be able to just click on the game and it works...but nothing happens.
  13. Interesting approach...i kind of like that idea...a lot, actually. I think that might actually work, It will take some time, but I'm going to mark this as a solution, but continue to post stuff as things evolve. What about artwork for the pause menu though?
  14. In the particular case of 3 skulls, I have the western file as you've shown for scummvm, it varies as i look through these newly obtained zips.
  15. bumping this thread...still having issues, not sure where to go from here.
  16. Sorry for being unclear, The first fade is launching through Rlauncher This is Launching through LB connected to Rlauncher The reason I understand that this is happening is because launchbox sometimes stores the artwork in regional sub-folders and the plugin (on the rlauncher side) built in AHK does not parse subfolder art and if it did there would be a risk of grabbing the wrong artwork if it did. It has been requested to be updated but Agent47 is hesitant on making any changes and has very little desire to maintain the upkeep. There has been a real lack of maintenance with rlauncher so I'm certain that the platform will just eventually die a slow death as tech moves on. In my opinion, rlauncher would still be relevant today if the modules were centralized in a github or something for people to communally update or add to them, but that's a whole other can of worms.... rlauncher is the most 'unfun' part of emulation, but crucially important in my opinion and could have been a real powerhouse to be the backbone of all the frontend platforms...that's where bad and neglectful leadership gets us...the emulation community would have a much better time if we all upheld our pillars better...but it is what it is. Anyway. my mention about the bezels is that i prefer rlauncher BECAUSE of that feature...without the use of rlauncher I am bound to a static bezel within retroarch and if i have to use a different emu other than rlauncher, then as far as i know at this point and time I just can't do that... i'll look more into that later, but I've been avoiding anything with bezel project because I have my own way of doing things. I like to know what things are doing and how this stuff works and why.
  17. The fades don't display the artwork correctly though. Clear logos, etc. I haven't looked at pause. Since this post, I've been in process of just setting most everything up in Lb...as annoying as it is, I'm finding somewhat palletable solutions...like the gridlock fade... it contains the same info during loading and is a bit more polished. I'm getting used to some of the nuances that LB has. I have experienced the slowness that comes with adding lots of systems.... LB does lock up on me sometimes so that's a little annoying, but all in all, once i get this fully customized to my liking, i think it'll be nice. I really wish there was better bezel support in LB in the same way that Rlauncher did it... I was able to set up my bezels in such a way that my bezels rotated to a different bezel each time i loaded a game. I really liked that feature. Anyway, It's coming along...
  18. foldername: 3 Skulls of the Toltecs (CD DOS)> game data files I don't have the one game i'm testing zipped.
  19. Right or wrong. If this is the quality level of responses that are given for rejecting submissions to a database, then I won't be contributing anymore. I'll just keep my lazy ass submissions to myself....even though I'm not the one that submitted artwork without removing the backgrounds first before submitting. ya'll can have this back too.............................. I know what that means now. sirs.
  20. what exactly do you mean by this "excuse me for the block."?
  21. Ok, I've tired all methods of setting this emu up and i just cannot seem to get it to work. First, I tried following this guide Then this guide, Then this guide, I can't get any of these processes to work...at best, I am able to get the scummvm emulator to launch to the main menu...but never have been able to get it to launch to a game. My current settings at the time of this writing are the batch launcher method, but that also doesn't work. Trying the latest method with the plugin again I have the settings below...but it still doesn't work. I have enabled debug logging and i don't see anything that i recognize as an issue.... 2025-05-28 03:20:12 PM GameDetailsViewModel LoadVideoMusic MusicNotPlaying Complete 2025-05-28 03:20:12 PM
