  1. sundogak thank you so much for your thorough explanation, really aporeciated! Things are a lot more clear now on how it works. Perhaps I give the video -> SSD a go or disable the videos entirely as you suggested. Further I'm going to read through some of the speed related threads as well. Thanks again, very helpfull! 👍 👍
  2. Hi, I'm using LB/BB for some time now and enjoying it a lot. So much, that my library has maybe become a bit to large. 🤔 I used to run LB on a 500GB SSD, but needed to switch to one of my spinning HDD's because of the increased library size. My setup is like this atm: - Total roms about 14.000 - Total space LB with content about 2.5TB - Launchbox and all content except Windows games on a 4TB HDD S-ATA drive. - Windows games on a seperate 500GB M.2 SSD (game shortcuts in LB games folder) I'm running on: Windows 11 Intel i7-14700K 3.4Ghz 64GB DDR5 RTX 4060Ti 8GB What can I do to speed LB up? I'm not sure if LB feels slower then before (esspecially with loading game information like video's) and if it's because of the size of the content, or the change from SSD to spinning HDD? Is it possible to place the games on the spinning HDD and LB on an SSD, so all information content is loaded faster? Anything else you guys recommend I change to this setup to speed things up? Thanks a lot for the help and/or advice and keep up all the great work with LB!
  3. Oke thanks! I have placed them manually into the Microsoft Windows platform. just selected everything within the “Windows” platform and bulk edited it to “Microsoft Windows”. Sort of a workaround, but all good for now. :)
  4. Hi, I've been updating my Storefront games and noticed that some newly imported Xbox/Microsoft Storefront titles go straight to the platform "Windows". I have renamed my platform "Microsoft WIndows" for consistancy (with for example Microosft MSX). All new GOG, Steam and "normal" Xbox titles becode visible on the "Microsoft Windows" platform, except storefront games from Xbox/Microsoft which I have played before on my Xbox Series X console. If I try to rename this newly created "Windows" platform to "Microsoft Windows", LaunchBox tells me (logically) that this platform already excists. My question is: How do I get this games to become visible on my "Micorosft Windows" platform and how do I stop the storefront import from creating a "Windows" platform? I have attached two screenshots. I hope you guys can help me out. Thanks in advance!
  5. Thanks so much, then I won't bother changing the dir.
  6. Hi guys, I was wondering: Does LaunchBox/BigBox load faster when I place the Rom (with CHD) folder outside of the LaunchBox directory? Or doesn't this make a difference at all? I'm asking this because I've just added the (merged) Roms and the (merged) CHD in a seperate folder (LaunchBox/Extra's/MAME) and the total package is over 1TB in filesize. So I can imagine this slows LaunchBox down if it reads through all content. Normally I would have placed the Rom's and CHD's in the designated LaunchBox/Games/Arcade at first, but couldn't do so in this case before (but I can now by the way). What do you guys recommend?
  7. Thanks a lot! Taking up on your advice and will give it a go manually.
  8. I'm on Launchbox 13.14 (Premium) and have pretty much all my systems and arcade setup. The automatic import of roms works great for all my systems, including Nintendo NES. When I try to import Nintendo Famicom Disk System I'm encountering some issues though. I run my NES roms through RetroArch and I'm using the Nestopia libretro for the emulation. Somehow there are two nestopialibretro to chose from if I chose "Launch With...". I don't know why this occured, but everything plays great so no issue with this for me. Except that it seems strange. (See screenshot in attachment.) The thing is when I start to import Nintendo Famicom Disk System roms with the *.fds file extention, Launchbox scans them properly as Famicom files, but is telling me that RetroArch is needed to play these roms and asks me if I want to download RetroArch. Since RetroArch is already installed and all cores are configured to my liking, I'm a bit reluctant to let LaunchBox download RetroArch again. My question is: Should I let LaunchBox download and install RetroArch again? Or is there a better way to configure the Famicom Disk System?
  9. Cheers Rei Ayanami, that is exactly the problem! I can confirm that your solution works. I had just figured this out when noticing the slangp file was named "temp.slango", which implicated a sort of temp directory. Your solution is precisely the thing I did with my Mega Drive/Genesis (*.md), Master System (*.sms) and Game Gear (*.gg) games. Just unzipping them is all it takes.
  10. Having the same issue. No change using "advanced, normal or lite" for Duimonts shaders.
  11. Has there been a fix for this? I'm running into the same problem. (Mame 0.264)
  12. Man this is so awesome! Thanks for all the time and effort you have put in to this. Cheers!
  13. Thanks a lot again skizzosjt! That documentation is very handy indeed. I've just setup some shaders on core and some on directory level (since GB and GBC use the same core in my case). Going through my entire library as we speak, great stuff!
  14. Thanks a lot skizzosjt! It indeed made me realize I needed a different approach. my solution now was to change to vulkan in video settings, then return to quick settings/overrides. There I made a new override for this core. Now the slang shaders where available. it was definitely worth my while, not only for the shaders, but also to get a better understanding of RetroArch. Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction!
  15. Hi, I'm very happy with LB and a lot of time and effort are spared by the automatic import and save settings. Especially if you are new in retrogaming, like myself. At the moment I have pretty much setup all systems and roms the way I preffer. Including the proper artwork, control configs etc. There is one thing I can't get to work and I was wondering if you guys can help me out. With emulating SNES/Super Famicom games, I prefer to use the SNES9x libreto in RetroArch. The problem is I need to change the video output from "gl" to "vulcan" for using *.slangp shaders. If I want to save the video output, which is needed because RetroArch needs to reboot to make the changes stick, I'm getting the message that changes has not been saved because of "overrides". How can I override this overrides? or is there an easier or better way to test this slang shaders? Cheers for all the help!
