Custom emulators are actually supported with the latest. The ROM key path is basically what the emulator calls the parameter for the ROM path. It's an Android thing.

@neil9000 That's a known issue. If you delete an entire platform, then the metadata is gone for that platform, as are the folder paths for that platform. So at that point, we don't know the folders to look for to check for unused media. We could guess and look in the default folders, but I'm afraid that could be cause for problems. I think a better approach would be to prompt to delete media folders when you delete a platform. That's on the list.

I still see a really odd issue there with the blue background in the corners. It's like Microsoft is hallucinating...

Beta 5 is out now with the following: New Feature: Metadata for Steam games is now downloaded directly from Steam, and can be optionally prioritized over metadata from the LaunchBox Games Database (options are available in the Steam Import Wizard and the Download Metadata and Media Wizard). Metadata from Steam is available for Developer, Publisher, Genre, Notes, and Release Date. Fixed: Steam Import Wizard DPI issues Fixed: Number sorting issues Hopeful fix for weird Clean Up Media coloring issues The Clean Up Media color issues are a bit baffling, as I can't seem to replicate on my machine at all (and I'm even running in dark mode). However, I'm still running Windows 10 version 1903. I ended up hardcoding some of the colors instead of using Windows system colors; let me know if this beta fixes the issues for those of you who are seeing problems.

Saving box art to external hard drive - Nvidia Shield
Jason Carr replied to Retro4Ever's topic in Android
You do need a controller in order to press the Y button to open that menu currently. I am aware of the remote issue, but since you can't really play games with just a remote anyways, it hasn't been a priority to fix. -
Odd. It looks like your Windows colors are customized in a way that is not expected. What version of Windows are you running, and are you using anything to customize your Windows theme or colors?
-
It's implementing all the changed settings. So a minor delay there is expected. That's a known issue. Clear logos have never changed upon changing themes. You have to clear the cache. That was not the intended results. It's working properly in the correct order in my testing, but @C-Beats is seeing some odd results there as well. We'll get it fixed, thanks.

There's a box that the clear logo wheels are placed in, that you've defined in the XAML. You'll need to change that box (make it larger) in order to prevent them from getting cut off. Grid.RowSpan is only expanding downwards, which is why the CoverFlow moves down. You'll have to expand upwards as well to keep it centered. Nothing was changed with clear logos. Not sure what you mean there exactly. Thanks Neil, I'll take a look.

Saving box art to external hard drive - Nvidia Shield
Jason Carr replied to Retro4Ever's topic in Android
@Retro4Ever You should be able to just move the /Android/data/com.unbrokensoftware.launchbox folder over to the same location on your external hard drive, and LaunchBox will pick it up. Make sure you remove the folder from your internal storage, and make sure LaunchBox is closed before doing so. -
Beta 4 is out now with the following: New Feature: A new "Installed" field has been added to games, and the Steam Import Wizard will now let you import only installed games, only games that are not installed, or all games. Installed and Not Installed are also available for the new badges system. Improvement: A right-click menu has been added to the results of the Clean Up Media process to make it easier to check or uncheck selected items Improvement: The Clean Up Media process now allows you to move unused media into a folder instead of just deleting it Improvement: Theme developers can now both rotate and curve wheels in all directions in Big Box (both in the vertical and the horizontal wheel views). This is achieved via the CurveAmount and RotationAmount properties on the FlowControl, using negative values for opposite directions. Improvement: Badges can now be enabled or disabled en masse (rather than clicking each individual badge) with a new "Show Badges" option in the Badges drop down menu Improvement: The default sort order has been improved to better deal with numbers that are not separated by spaces and numbers with decimal point and comma characters Fixed: Add to Playlist in Big Box was showing auto-populated and auto-generated playlists in the list

Adding games to an auto generated playlist.
Jason Carr replied to Warped Polygon's topic in Troubleshooting
Thanks for reporting this @gride5. Has been fixed for the next beta. -
Thanks guys, I have the pt-BR and ru-RU translations updated for the next beta (should be out in a bit).

That stuff is coming soon @MarkyMarkMarkMark.

No data was found on your devices internal or SD card storage
Jason Carr replied to Mastryda's topic in Android
Unfortunately, as best I can tell, it looks like the errors are happening because it's running an old version of Android, and there's somehow a unique problem with that device in particular. I'm not sure if the app is going to work out for you on that device. I'll take a look at the Android errors that I can see to see if there's anything I can do. Otherwise, if you'd like a refund, please just email us at support@unbrokensoftware.com with your order ID from Google Play. Sorry for the bad news here. -
Looking for a list of game & platform binding paths
Jason Carr replied to Jair's topic in Big Box Custom Themes
Unfortunately Most Played Game is currently not available outside of the platform details block. Currently it's all displayed in that block and there's no way to get it without getting the whole block. It could certainly be retrieved with a plugin though. It looks like Stark is just using that block currently. -
No data was found on your devices internal or SD card storage
Jason Carr replied to Mastryda's topic in Android
@Mastryda What device are you using and what version of Android is it running? Error 1 always shows up when you don't have any data, so that is normal. Error 2 should not be happening, however (nor error 3). You won't be able to select any emulators though until you have a platform that applies for those emulators. -
You can get the image URLs straight out of the XML itself, so you shouldn't need the other ID for that. Look at the GameImage objects in the XML. They match up to the DatabaseID of the game, which is also in the XML. You can just use the file name to construct the URL.
-
Unfortunately it may not be available currently. I know we have a disconnect there, and I do need to provide a way around that. What's your use case?
-
Thanks duerra, good to know. Sync between Android and Windows is very difficult due to the differences in emulator and ROM support between the platforms. It will probably be a long time before we ever get to a proper sync, but I know there are several users who would really love to see it.

LaunchBox is available directly from Google Play on the Shield devices, and yes, it's a perfect match. We test heavily on Shield devices during development.

Severe Performance Issues with BigBox RESOLVED
Jason Carr replied to johnsanc's topic in Troubleshooting
What it ultimately comes down to is just the fact that I have to make sure I'm spending my time wisely. Every moment that I spend in conversations like this is a moment that I can't be in the code, making improvements, fixing things, or adding new features. Unfortunately there has to be a line, and I feel like we've crossed it already. I should have stated above that there's more than SAMBA involved here, including VMs and network routing within the same machine, which can be funky to begin with. So regardless, nothing here is a common scenario. I use SAMBA network paths myself for storing ROMs, but it's known that images and videos should really be local due to performance requirements. -
Thanks, let me know if you can confirm. Clicking the X should not be a problem at all.

Severe Performance Issues with BigBox RESOLVED
Jason Carr replied to johnsanc's topic in Troubleshooting
To be honest, I don't have the time or the desire to continue troubleshooting things in your environment that involves SAMBA. We've been back and forth on this many times over. There are always ways to improve performance, but I don't believe that you're correct in all of your assumptions and conclusions, and I have better ways and tools to identify performance issues than comparing everything to a networking scenario. -
Thanks guys; this is still on my list.

Nested Menus
Jason Carr replied to DRUMZEY's topic in Third-Party Applications and Plugins (Development and Beta Testing)
We may at some point, but honestly it hasn't been a common request, so it probably isn't going to be prioritized soon.
