I know on rare occasions the cache will get stuck like this, but I don't think it's new and I think just restarting Big Box will solve it. It is something we need to fix though; just one of those nightmare things to fix that isn't happening often enough to focus on...yet. Let me know though Maddoc if the issue keeps happening for you after a restart.

Odd, probably a stupid Windows bug. It should be using localization settings, but perhaps if you customize them it doesn't work? I'm not sure; probably not much we can do about it though outside of adding a manual setting for it. @Grila That is looking sweet.
-
@Wattoo I'm noticing that there are two sets of files in that zip, so just wanted to make sure I have the right files.
-
Thank you @Wattoo! Speaking of translations, guys, now's the time to get the translations in for 7.9. I'm hoping to release it this coming Tuesday. Also, here are the release notes to be translated for 7.9: - Nested filters are now available in Big Box! - Filter any games list in Big Box by any combination of fields - Platform categories are now in Big Box as well @CliveBarker @AFaustini @Opak @dukeemu @cyanjiang @Bardock @MajKSA Thank you all!

@spektor56 Very true, but you would need to know C# or VB in order to make that happen. But yes, you can put any code into Big Box that you want these days. One of these days I'm gonna get a plugin system going so you have direct access to the data as well. @ALIE @Grila The format can't be changed right now, but it will default to the system's localization settings (if your Windows is set to use 24-hour time, then it will display that way).

Alright, beta 7 is now out with the fix for platform categories sorting. Just so nobody misses it, here's the full set of changes implemented today: - Fixed empty platform categories showing up in Big Box - Fixed empty platform categories *not* showing up in the sidebar in LaunchBox - Fixed the performance issues noted by Kriven - Added caching for playlists on startup to help with performance in a few places - Added hiding and unhiding games to the Big Box game details menu - Fixed a couple of places where games were not being hidden with playlists in Big Box - New Premium Feature: New options are available under Options > Image Cache in Big Box to force populate all cache images. This should help especially on lower-end devices like the GPD Win, where the device is too slow to do it during normal operation. - Improvement: Added a new "CurrentTime" binding to all views in Big Box for custom themes Please see the details in the previous posts though on some of the new stuff.
-
Not currently; the best I have is a virtual machine. I haven't run Windows 7 on anything in like 4 years lol. But I'll test on a virtual machine and see what I can come up with.
-
Thanks @Kriven, that clued me in to the issue. Putting out another new beta now, lol.

@deliyuerek85 Where exactly are you seeing that? LaunchBox or Big Box? What view? Beta 6 is out now as well with the above fixes as well as the following: - New Premium Feature: New options are available under Options > Image Cache in Big Box to force populate all cache images. This should help especially on lower-end devices like the GPD Win, where the device is too slow to do it during normal operation. - Improvement: Added a new "CurrentTime" binding to all views in Big Box for custom themes (for @Grila and @GiantTitan)

Ah, it could be Windows 7, since I do my development and testing on Windows 10. You can try re-running the LaunchBox setup program, just in case DirectX is missing DLLs or something, but I doubt that's what's causing the issue. Might be worth a shot though, you never know. I'm planning to spend some time on it tomorrow with more testing to see if there's anything I can do to replicate it.
-
Found it, thanks. Should be fixed for the next beta.
-
With playlists or platforms?
-
This may not be specific to any particular controller type or drivers, then. I've never once been able to replicate that issue though, so I'm shooting blanks on that one. Are we confident that that's the same issue as Patrick though?

Alright guys, beta 5 is out with the following: - Fixed empty platform categories showing up in Big Box - Fixed empty platform categories *not* showing up in the sidebar in LaunchBox - Fixed the performance issues noted by Kriven - Added caching for playlists on startup to help with performance in a few places - Added hiding and unhiding games to the Big Box game details menu - Fixed a couple of places where games were not being hidden with playlists in Big Box Empty platform categories *should* always show up in the sidebar in LaunchBox so that you can go ahead and delete them, but they weren't, and funnily enough, they were showing up in Big Box, but they shouldn't have been, so that should be fixed now. Also, the performance issues introduced in beta 4 were due to my attempts at tweaking the performance for the platform categories; Kriven's collection helped me to nail down the issue (hopefully). Let me know how performance is for this release. There is a little bit more going on on startup now to cache some of the playlist features to help with performance after everything is loaded. You may find that startup time is slightly longer due to this; ultimately my plan is to add more multi-threading on startup to address this, but it may or may not make it into the 7.9 release. It's back to work now again for me; I'm working on adding some more optimizations for lower end devices.

I need to find the common ground here. I still can't replicate it, so I don't know what it is that is causing it. Rather than recommend another controller, we need to get it fixed, because the 360 controllers are what we have always recommended. I'm just stuck on this one because I can't ever seem to get it to happen on my machines. I'll play with it a bit more in the mean time, but if anyone else is experiencing this or similar issues, please chime in. I'm still wondering if it's faulty Microsoft drivers that are not updating and not installing, but that's pretty to hard to nail down.
-
Just put out a new beta without this but I'm still hoping to add the time in later today.
-
Awesome, thank you @MajKSA; that is great to hear. I have the updated translation in for the next beta; it's uploading now.
-
Okay, and I assume this just happened with beta 4 only? Must be something odd that I'm overlooking. Gonna need you guys' help to pinpoint it; just in case it's collection-specific, if you guys can PM me a copy of your Data folder I'd appreciate it.
-
Yup; we can use the user's local time format for it as well. It'll be a standard binding just like everything else.
-
Microsoft has really bugged some recent XInput (360 controller) drivers as of late, so I'm wondering if that might be the cause. Are you using the PS controller in 360 controller emulation mode? Is it behaving as an XInput device? You probably already have, but see if there are any driver updates for your controllers on Windows Update.
-
Amazing @Grila! Truth be told, adding a time property would be super easy, so I can certainly do that, especially since it's come up several times as of late. I'd just add a text property that automatically updates when the time changes. What format did you want?
-
I'll take a look at this @Mute64. Thanks for pointing that out.
-
Unfortunately not for 7.9. It was decided that it would be too jarring to have yet another separate view for platform categories, so platform categories and platforms are currently displayed in the same view.
-
I have to admit that this puzzles me @Kriven since I haven't really changed anything significant to affect that in the last beta. What version did you upgrade from?
