  1. Wow, that's pretty useful. That means, in theory, I could have LaunchBox auto-download Steam banners. Thanks monyarm...I've added this to my list of to dos. Could potentially download metadata as well, I suppose.
  2. Ah, I understand guys. This would be a challenge so unfortunately it can't be an immediate priority but I'll consider it going forward. You might be able to do something similar with custom saved filters but of course that isn't the ideal interface for it.
  3. Hi Stimpy, Old Windows games on later versions of Windows are consistently a royal pain. For Sim City, you'd be much better off finding a DOS version and playing it in DOSBox. There are some good DOS versions of the game. But yeah, you'd need a Virtual Machine in VirtualBox, Hyper-V, or VMware in order to effectively play the Windows version. That is unfortunately a pain to get setup and maintain, however, as you have to install and maintain a complete operating system just to run the game.
  4. Thanks for the purchase, klownk. I'm not exactly following. You'd want these "sub-genres" to not show up in the sidebar?
  5. Hi Stimpy, there's a couple of options. One option is to use Additional Applications for each episode (they're accessible from right click or the controller). That's probably the closest to what you're looking for. Another option would be to use the new Game Series field that I'm adding to the next version (a beta release should be out soon).
  6. Hi monyarm, yes, I can reissue your license for your proper email. Send me an email at jasondavidcarr at gmail with your full name and email and I'll send out a new license.
  7. Ah, nope, I was thinking backups for some reason. I do attempt to delete the setup files upon a successful install, but apparently on some systems the file is still in use for whatever reason, so they don't get deleted. Certainly doesn't hurt to clear that folder out.
  8. Hi duckeenie, every time LaunchBox saves (which is quite often), it creates a backup and deletes the oldest backup in the folder. So no maintenance should be required, as they are automatically replaced. I have it on my list to provide greater control (and easier restores) for the backup files.
  9. Ha, no worries at all kamyk. Sorry I didn't immediately respond. No offense taken; always glad to have feedback. I've noted the items on my to do list.
  10. Ah, I see. Probably the easiest thing to do would be to somehow generate a series of blank files named by the contents of the CSV. Then the ROM import process would be able to see them all. I'm not sure how easy that would be to do, would have to find an app that would do something like that. Are all the games in the CSV for the same platform?
  11. Weird. I can't even get to it right now for some reason. It just comes up as a blank page.
  12. Cool, sorry for that. Still, thanks for the purchase. What on earth happened to MySpace? Did it just...die? Last time I checked they were at least still around. Link us here to your songs once you get some stuff back up.
  13. That's the trick, unfortunately I have to stick with real names on the license. So sadly, I can't. :/
  14. Ah, yeah; that's right. Why were you interested, thebatusi?
  15. Yeah, I've used both Bandcamp and Soundcloud in the past. I'm currently using Bandcamp. Thanks for the compliments on the music, btw. I enjoy putting time into that, but since I've found a significant audience with LaunchBox, I've almost completely abandoned that stuff...just too hard to get an audience, I guess.
  16. Brad, you can't edit the License.xml file. That's the whole point. If you change anything at all in the license file then the whole thing is invalidated, and you no longer have premium. If you could just change your name, then that would pretty much defy the entire purpose of the license. Because I've included no real DRM, the policy that unfortunately I have to stand by is that no, I can't allow changing names in the title bar. I understand that that's unfortunate for some reasons/purposes, but it's a tradeoff that helps circumvent piracy whilst not getting in the way of paying users.
  17. I don't recall discussing a 4G memory patch, but of course I forget stuff all the time. Are you talking about patching LaunchBox itself? I don't fully understand the purpose, but it sounds like it's only for 32-bit machines?
  18. Hi kamyk, no, this is specific to DOSBox games. Unfortunately emulators are all too different in order to be able to properly implement disc swapping for all of them. It would have to implemented individually for each and every emulator, and most emulators don't even provide a way to communicate externally to swap the discs.
  19. Nice! Thanks for getting that one figured out. Why on earth that would prevent image downloads from TheGamesDB, I have no idea; doesn't make sense. At least now when people Google this topic, they'll end up here with a solution. http://support.kaspersky.com/7859 Apparently "anti-banner" is intended to block apps from showing ads within the apps, so it does make sense, I guess. It probably detects the word "banner" and gets all over-zealous. These anti-virus apps are the bane of my existence as a developer.
  20. Hi Dopax, Jason from Facebook. We'll see if anyone else can chime in as well. First off, where are you getting your CSV file? What is that data coming from?
  21. Would be good to get this emulator working in LaunchBox. Does anyone know the command line parameters that it needs to work? I'm sure I could research it and get it working, but if anyone knows how to run it outside of LaunchBox via the command line, it'd save me some time. I suppose it's also possible that the emulator just won't work properly from the command line; if that's the case, then we're pretty much out of luck.
  22. Not a bad idea. That would make sense. I'll add that to my list, thanks.
  23. kamyk2000 said Lol, *Shifts eyes* Hmm, no one has ever actually commented on that before... No actually I'm a pretty nice guy. I always say that's where I am because life has put me through hell, and it's still hell, and I seem to be stuck just floating in a boring never changing no place in hell. I suppose it would sound better if I said it's because I'm so bad hell had to find somewhere out of the way to get rid of me, lol. Of course then there's also that I'm actually stuck in a nowhere town in Ohio, which qualifies for both limbo and hell. Yeah, life kind of...just sucks in general. One of the biggest reasons I find so much comfort and purpose in my faith.
  24. Hey guys, yes, we did; unfortunately I had to take it out because I had keyboard shortcut conflicts all over the place (it never really worked properly). The search should hopefully make it easier, but yes, I still see the need for that.
