  1. Thanks, Hippyshake. I organize my collection that way too (Windows, MS-DOS, etc.), so that's one thing I'd like to see too. Unfortunately, though, we're still somewhat limited by TheGamesDB, as they currently only have PC. I'm hoping that this all will be solved eventually with a new metadata/images system.
  2. Hi Hippyshake, unfortunately the Windows search is never going to be perfect, because it's just not possible. It's a lot of guessing; there's no way to really make it perfect. Still, I'm doing my best to tweak it to make it as good as possible. I'd be curious to know if there were any games that you have installed that it didn't find. Currently, I'm favoring finding as many things as possible, even if it identifies some non-games, as they are easy to delete from the list before the import. I use the LocalDB to help identify whether an item in your Start menu is a game or not.
  3. I am hoping that the new Windows search will help to find a lot (if not all) of the GOG, Desura, Uplay, and Origin games. I could use some reports on how many of those games it finds, and games that it doesn't find. That would help me to adjust it to find more games. I'm hoping that the Windows search will just find them all. I haven't looked in too much detail, but I doubt GOG, Desura, Uplay, or Origin have APIs that could be used to find all games that you own, instead of just your installed games. But I could be wrong, let me know if anyone knows about any APIs for those platforms.
  4. Thanks for that info guys. Maddoc, how long does that show up when exiting? How long does it take to exit? Kriven, I'm curious what you mean by "really slow performance." What in particular is slow, and how long does it take? How big is your collection? What are your machine specs? What language is your operating system? I've had one other report of the app being really slow, so I'm wondering if it's related.
  5. Good to know, Maddoc, thanks. Not sure if that will deter my wife or not. ;)
  6. Hey guys, thanks for testing and the feedback. The biggest issue is that matching up the games between Steam and TheGamesDB is a challenge, because of the obvious possible variations in the names of games. I wonder if differences in languages makes the issue worse, too (if some game titles are in Spanish and TheGamesDB has them in English...). I definitely see far better than 50% for my own collection, more like 90%. So perhaps that's an issue to deal with. Grabbing data from SteamDB is actually a good idea, as it could replace TGDB for Steam games, to a certain extent. Though I don't think SteamDB has things like fanart, but I could be wrong. I just put out a new beta with a Windows game search as well. Any testing you guys can do on that would also be appreciated. :) Clive, I need to send you new language files here soon.
  7. Hi Gordon, enable beta updates in LaunchBox under Tools > Options > Updates and then restart the app and it should prompt you to update.
  8. ...and the beta is out. Import uninstalled Steam games to your heart's content. Let me know if you run into any issues, of course.
  9. Hey folks, guess what? I finally implemented this in the beta release I put out just now. It now uses the Steam API to pull all of your games, installed or not.
  10. Hi 8bit, glad you got it figured out. It might be helpful if you could list the configuration here. There's also this thread here that is useful: https://www.launchbox-app.com/forum/emulation/command-line-parameters-arguments Welcome to the forums.
  11. Indeed it is possible, Ragadorus. I have not done it with WinCDEmu, but I do it with Daemon Tools without a problem. Maybe someone else can chime in on WinCDEmu.
  12. Also, it's important to note that your profile will need to be public in order for LaunchBox to be able to get your list of owned games. From that same screen above, click the "My Privacy Settings" link, and then make sure your "Profile Status" is "Public". After changing, don't forget to scroll down and click the "Save Changes" button. Comment below if you need help.
  13. Please review this thread if you are having trouble finding your Steam Custom URL. It's important to note that your Steam Custom URL has nothing to do with your Steam login ID, and may not be the same as your Profile Name. We can all thank Valve for making it so confusing. Your Steam Custom URL is available to read or set from inside of Steam. So first, open Steam, and then click your profile name at the top. Then, click the "Edit my Profile" link on the right. Your Custom URL is available on this page. If you need further help, please feel free to comment below.
  14. Hehehehehe.
  15. I will wait with bated breath.
  16. Hi vectorman, welcome! I do have plans to add plugin support, but they are pretty ill defined (I haven't thought about them much, as of yet). It might help to know what your plugins do, so that I could better figure out how to support them.
  17. I'm attempting to work through the issues with the uploads; sorry for that, everybody. I believe I have batch files (and uploads) fixed for everyone. People should be able to upload now, including batch files. Please let me know if you can't. Unfortunately, the odd behavior with the backslashes seems more like a glitch with the forums software than anything else, so I don't have a solution to that one right away.
  18. *Commenting just in case you win the lottery.*
  19. Hi Sennator, I'm not overly familiar with other payment solutions, but I will certainly take the funds any way you can get them to me. Even if you just want to mail me a check, we can make it happen. It's only $10, I don't have any problem trusting you, either, so I can just send you the license.
  20. By the way, Maddoc, my wife is semi-seriously pushing for us to move to Ireland. She's getting fed up with some of the laws being made regarding health care and food in the US. What do you think?
  21. Ah, I see. Yeah, that drop down is slow when it has a large number of items in it. We could definitely use a better multi-select drop down solution. I'll add that to my list.
  22. Ah, I see. Yeah, custom filters show up in the list under custom filters, not in the main drop down. It allows you to filter your collection by anything, but not dynamically like that. I see what you're getting at, once we properly support multiple types of media (games, movies, music, etc.), we'll need multiple levels of filtering like that, for sure. It does get pretty complicated at that point, so I want to make sure however we implement it is easy to understand.
  23. You warm my heart, Sentai Brad. Hi Fluffo, ran into some irritating things about the way the Steam community stuff works last night, but I'm still hoping to put out a beta late tonight with this functionality.
  24. Hi Dos, sure, I wouldn't think that would be any more work, sans for adding other metadata import sites.
  25. Hi kamyk, I think the odd backslash issue might be hard to resolve, but I believe I've given people the permissions they need in order to upload batch files, at least. I definitely want to get any of these types of issues solved. Hopefully uploading batch files does work now, at least.
