  1. Hi there, can you try reinstalling LaunchBox over top? It looks like some required LaunchBox files are corrupted. You won't lose any of your data or games, assuming that they weren't corrupted by the blue screen. Play close attention and make sure you install to the exact same location as your original install when reinstalling (and make sure it's not installing to a subfolder of it).
  2. Hi there, did you read the first two posts of this topic? The profile must be public in order for the import to work.
  3. Strange. I assume you're on Windows 10? What version? I haven't seen this situation elsewhere, so it's probably going to be difficult to pinpoint. Here's a list of things to try (if you haven't already): Reboot (this one's easy and important) Check for Windows updates Try uninstalling and reinstalling (or updating) your video drivers Try closing any and all background applications (especially any anti-virus or security software that might be interfering)
  4. We do use VLC for music playback even when not using it for videos. It seems like somehow VLC is just not working properly on the machine. Do you have any music in your collection at all?
  5. Well, at least we know the source of the error in that case (VLC's plugin there). Can you try switching your video playback engine to Windows Media Player in your Big Box settings to see if that resolves the crash for you? This is the first time I'm hearing about that in particular. Who knows though, maybe it's a lead for MrSco as well.
  6. Hi @biosonic417, we're aware that Symantec/Norton is falsely identifying the latest version as a virus. We've been to the moon and back trying to get around Norton's extremely poor anti-virus engine, but we haven't been able to get past their endless false positives. They're like the boy who cried wolf; you can't believe them when they report an issue, because they report so many stupid false positives. Our apologies for the trouble, but there's really nothing we can do about it. We highly recommend uninstalling Symantec/Norton because it's a terrible product. Microsoft's Windows Defender comes with Windows 10 and does a great job for free. Norton only slows down your machine and gets in the way.
  7. What is Scrape As set to on that platform?
  8. Did you do any edits to those platforms recently? The only possible way I can think of that those paths would have changed is if the platform was modified with the Edit Platform dialog.
  9. Seems that way. I'm not sure how we could fix the problem, so it seems to be an issue with the Amazon app.
  10. What were the folder paths supposed to be, and what were they changed to?
  11. @ghassan You can just copy the files into the right folders and LaunchBox should pick them up, assuming they're named to match either the ROM file name or the title of the game.
  12. Offline installs should work fine if *and only if* you have all the necessary operating system components installed already. Otherwise, it does need to download them. If you're missing the C++ runtime, here is the one that you need to install: http://aka.ms/vs/16/release/vc_redist.x64.exe
  13. This is possible. I've never heard of the download process getting that far and then just giving up every time. So I guess this is my best guess as well.
  14. Sorry for that; my server provider was fixing an issue last night. Looks like it was down for about a half hour.
  15. It's hard to say. It looks like they added it to the Retroarch menu at least, but it's not useful for the importer unless it's accessible from the command-line. Yeah, this should be rare, but Windows doesn't handle those situations very well all the time. The update check only happens on startup, so it should only be a thing if you rush into something right away while it's still scanning for updates. I don't really have a solution for it other than to just not use a popup for it at all and replace the whole UI. If it's only affecting the one platform, then my guess is maybe that the media folder path changed somehow for that platform? If you edit the platform, are the folder paths correct?
  16. @kryptonian_joker For some reason it appears that it can't write to that particular file. Can you try deleting that particular file? I'm not sure why files in your LaunchBox folder would have been marked as read-only, as that shouldn't happen on its own.
  17. Hi @lextar, if an emulator crashes, it's important to still close down LaunchBox properly. If you just power off the cabinet, you're definitely going to run into corruption issues like this. So it's very important not to just kill or force reboot the PC every time you have an issue.
  18. I see. Yeah, there's currently no way to replace that image, so really all you can do is a video currently.
  19. Which one? LaunchBox or Big Box?
  20. The Retroarch team has been very clear that they do not want Retroarch used in this way. So basically, any company that does (including Plex) is doing so legally (at least *arguably* legally), but they're doing it against the wishes of the Retroarch team. It's worth noting that we *did* reach out to the Retroarch team a while ago to discuss this as a possibility. They actively discouraged it.
  21. Thanks @Cauptain; I have this in for the official release.
  22. Beta 6 is out now with the following: Fix for a bug that would allow you to set the parent of a category or a platform to a playlist in certain situations (which doesn't work) Fix for a dictionary error with the Origin imports The Amazon importer will now download posters from Amazon Translation updates MAME full-set importer verbiage change (above)
  23. I haven't found a way to make Retroarch spit out the MAME XML like an actual copy of MAME will, so I'm just changing the importer to note that it requires an actual copy of MAME, and won't work with the Retroarch MAME core. I don't really know what else to do about that (unless someone can find a command-line that works with Retroarch MAME to spit out the -listxml stuff). You can always change the emulator to Retroarch after the import, but it isn't ideal. For now, though:
  24. Yes, the full-set MAME importer will not work if you don't choose an actual version of MAME for the emulator. I just realized that it also won't work with the MAME core in Retroarch, so it looks like we need to do something about that.
  25. Thank you both. I have the translations updated for the next beta, which should be out shortly. We're planning/hoping to release the official version tomorrow morning.
