  1. So there are a few things to check. First and foremost go to Tools -> Manage Emulators. Double click RertroArch and go to the Associated Platforms tab. Make sure that your SNES System name (on the left in LaunchBox) matches the name in here. The default naming solution for the best possible scraping is Super Nintendo (SNES), so make sure they match. You said they're working in RetroArch, so you have the core downloaded and there are no BIOS for SNES, so it is not that. We also have tutorials on our YouTube channel, which you can get to by clicking the link in my description. They don't all deal with RetroArch, but most do and they all compliment each other as well.
  2. So I am in the process of creating an FAQ, and I would like to know what the users would like in it? I already have a dozen or so items, and another half dozen or so to add. It all ranges from specific features to general questions we get constantly. Like another version of LB or MAME support, that sort of thing. Is there any in particular you would like us to add that will benefit the user base?
  3. The easiest solution would be to just unplug it when you don't need it. But if you plug your controller in first, turn on the emulator, then plug in the dolphin bar then it should work for Dolphin right? Otherwise you should probably unplug it.
  4. Sorry I missed this post Mute, I wasn't receiving e-mails for some reason for this sub forum. Emulation news might be coming for our current show Retro Style Spotlight, I just need to figure out the format and frequency of it. As per rom hacks, I did go over them a bit in a few of the tutorials, but a series showing off some cool ones is a really good idea actually. Texture packs I don't really have the desire to do though. Rom Hack Archives was actually going to be a show on my personal channel about a year ago when I was doing my redesign. I created a few shows that have kind of stopped. The style of the show will dictate where it goes. If it is more commentary driven and entertainment driven it will go to my channel. If it is more informative then it will go to the LaunchBox channel. My show Random Nostalgia Generator is a good example, it is a cross breed between informative and entertainment but is mostly entertainment, so that stays on my channel and wouldn't be getting moved to the LB channel. I would create a thread for user submitted setups and maybe that can make a new segment in RSS if I got enough submissions, do 1 a week. This idea sounds really cool though too. I very much appreciate you taking the time write this post for me. It warms our hearts that people love almost anything we do. It is an amazing feeling, thank you very very much.
  5. No problem, I am glad we could help. If you need any more help with LaunchBox, we do have a tutorial series on YouTube about it. That link is in my signature.
  6. Custom images for different situations has been asked before, but right now it only works if you use your wallpaper as an image, but then the second you click a game it starts changing to the game images. I could see, when you edit platforms, a edit function so you can add things like images. If you want, and it doesn't exist is our BitBucket, is suggest it. Go to the top and click Send Feedback. As for the images, yea GamesDB is down right now, and there is nothing we can do about it. We'll be expanding these options again in the future but for right now it will just require some patience. Once it is back up you can Ctrl + A all the games in a system, then Tools -> Download Images and Metadata. This will re-run everything but importing. Otherwise if you don't want to wait, or you still don't like what it offers afterwards, you can move your images in to the images folder for LaunchBox, but naming will not be the same. All images would have to have the name of the game and be in the proper folder. So in a game folder will be Front, Back, etc. The front cover of a game will go in the front folder and need to be named after the game, not the rom or iso file, but the game. It offers some degree of flexibility.
  7. You're more than welcome to submit something if you would like, but the contest is over.
  8. There is a fork that does internal resolution scaling, but Nearest 2x in the filtering options for desmume looks good, and the latest version gets better at everything.
  9. Desmume in RetroArch is not a great core. The standalone emulator is better. I also told you already, AutoHotKey.
  10. No, there is no fullscreen command line parameter for Desmume. The developers didn't make one. Otherwise AutoHotKey might solve your problem.
  11. There usually isn't a year in rom titles, and even if there was everything inside ( ) or [ ] gets ignored. Nothing in there is used to identify games. It uses the game name and console name. LaunchBox is actually really easy compared to a lot of other solutions, but we still offer the tutorials for a reason. Also, you need to load RetroArch anyways to download cores, and when you do you'll see a list of cores for the platforms they offer. Go in to your cores folder and just copy paste the cores name in to the Associated Platforms tab if you need to. -L "cores\.dll" The reason there is no list is because the nature of RetroArch doesn't allow us to do that. Not only do you need to download the cores you want to use, there are multiples for some systems. They'll get removed, added on, but primarily because they need to updated through RetroArch means it is harder for us to provide a plug and play list. We get that some cores we choose as defaults some users don't like, we know that our tastes have changed since that default list was created, and we know that cores have been added to RetroArch, so the default list of cores in RA will get updated soon.
  12. Yea the platforms can be named boobs for all it mattered. It is the System name and the Associated Platforms tab when editing an Emulator that matters. The names need to match in these two places.
  13. Sometimes it might just be a bug too, It is hard for us to tell sometimes if LaunchBox just interferes. There may be command line parameters we don't know about. I am glad it's working though. I think we do suggest MAMEUI too.
  14. We don't really offer old versions of the program on purpose. Anything other than the latest version is not supported. I do apologize for this.
  15. Yea removing a platform doesn't remove the games on purpose. Also, if you want to import duplicates (which is fine), check the import duplicates option. I also suggest users to not bulk rename anything in ( ). It is better to have the E, U and J identifiers. If I recall there is a ticket in our BitBucket (if there isn't I might create it, but I could of sworn I seen it before) that the importer will see (USA) or (Japan) or (E) or (J) etc, and identify the games accordingly. One of the main reasons this hasn't been implemented already is because it will bog down the importer with more and more logic. However, if enough users want it then it will seriously get considered.
  16. I only do these on my IPS Monitor I bought a few months ago, but calibration on the wide array of stuff sucks and is stupid hard. The reason I want a good shader for early 3D games is because there really is no internal resolution upscaling. There is in standalone emulators, but I like RA too much. :P The other problem with early 3D (and even still so till this day) everything is not made up of the same things. In-game is Polygonal, but UI and menu's are still 2D. In a lot of early cases menu's are still pixel art. So I can either account for the 2D, or the 3D but not both easily; Well, unless there are internal scalers like for PS2 and PSP.
  17. Oh, and don't get me wrong, I love high resolutions, I love increasing internal resolutions and use big displays, I just prefer the pixels to be intact. A proper upscale vs mathematical guess work.
  18. Edit: Images are there now. We actually were just talking about this in a thread where a user couldn't get them to work. Yea, a while back I started getting obsessive about how my 2D games look, I love pixel art. PVM's and RGB modded consoles are a dream of mine. Short of that, the Pixellate Shader in RA works really well, but not so well for 3D. RGB equivalence shaders, (so the PVM-like shader) might do the job but "RGB" quality doesn't shine through as much in 3D. I would love an HDMI or RGB modded N64 ran through a Framemeister. my PS1 games on my PS3 are the easiest equivalent I can get. Tests show it's not perfect, but it is a lot cheaper and way way more modern. I need to mess around with shaders a bit more though. I hate any shader that makes pixels rounded, so XBR, HQ etc shaders, and I am not a stickler for scanlines. I get the want and need for scanlines much much more than I do rounded pixels though. I also do know about scanlines and how some consoles / games account for them and utilize them, but i'd rather a sharp image than one with scanlines. CRT-Royale, If I can get the scanlines to go away might be a good choice for early 3D.
  19. The setting is Post Apocalyptic New York around Christmas time. So it reminds me of Parasite Eve, minus the apocalypse. Though it got kind of Apocalyptic there. It plays well and I can see them expanding on the game a lot because it is more or less an MMORPG, even though they don't want to call it that. They don't want to call Destiny that either, though they are.
  20. I just played a few hours of The Division Beta on PS4. I have it on PC too, so I want to play it there and see how big the difference is with a mouse and a keyboard, but I hate U Play integration on PC. I launch Steam to Launch U Play? Please no. I also love Trophies / Achievements, I'd rather earn Trophies or Steam Achievements instead of U Play... anything. If I get it on PS4 Christina can play it too, her PC sucks. It was really really fun though, anyone thinking about getting it?
  21. I would consider myself smart, barely, but a genius? Probably not, my mind works... oddly though. Also can't drive, and I'm not putting random people in our car. :P They can walk.
  22. Well make sure you are loading the pre-set in the glsl folder. I use the Pixellate myself, but because the games are already pixellated I get bold colors abd a big resolution. Personal preference always on shaders, but I dislike rounded pixels a lot, it looks odd and mostly bad on some games. I also make Pixel Art myself though, so that might have something to do with it. Integer scaling is right, it's there, but I personally never use it, and during tests with fullscreen it didn't effect anything. It might throw off the scaling and the Crop Overscan option (which you want).
  23. Yea auto hide has bugs like that from time to time. I remember having that happen to me as far back as Windows 7.
