Obviously, LaunchBox heads-up everyone's list, so that doesn't really need to be in here. My first submission is a program called Everything. It's essentially a Search Engine for files on your PC. I probably use it every day. So what's the big deal? It's incredibly fast (much faster than Windows Explorer)! Pretty much as fast as you type, it finds all matches across your entire system. Currently, the program says I have a little over 1.4 million files (I'm not counting files on my External Drives). If I type, say the letter "T" in the Search Field, it instantly shows about 773,000 files (only the files that have a "T" are indexed/counted, obviously). And so forth. Anyway, it's crazy fast! (The initial indexing speed is quite impressive, too). Give it a try! I'm always up for tryin'-out spiffy Freeware (I donate a little to the ones I use), so please reveal some of your favorites! P.S. I'm rebuilding one of my Drives, so I currently have no games installed (well, actually the BigFish games have been reinstalled ). Once they're all back, I'll probably have twice as many files!

And just for fun: The Xbox 360 Controller Bra!

And it doesn't look that small, either! -
Thanks, Jason. There was a lot of time involved, and lots of cussing! But now that Phase 1 is complete, I'm fairly content with the current results. If I ever do it, Phase 2 may involve thoroughly 'un-twisting' all cables, so they flow and bunch-up much better, but I really don't wanna do all that. Gettin' even lazier in my old age...

Better than a Butt Plug!

Okay, here's the front view, so you can see what the stuff is (PS3 Slim in lower-right shadows): I believe I have most of the wires successfully hidden from the front view. The thing atop the Xbox is a little 'manual switch-box' for 4 different L/R Audio & Video (white, red, yellow) input sets, so I can switch between the SNES and Xbox without messing with any cables. Since I don't use the real old school stuff (Intellivision II, NES, & SNES) much, I only plug in their transformers when I use them. Now to the cabling... You can see the Ethernet Switch left-center. Since I have a few Network Capable devices, I decided to use this switch to minimize my Ethernet Cabling. Now on to my PC's rat's nest. Aarrgghh!

Well, there's always the more mysterious hooded figure... The stuff they sell on Amazon makes me chuckle sometimes. Please don't ask how I discovered this, but on Amazon, in the Health & Personal Care : Sexual Wellness : Adult Toys & Games : Sex Toys : Anal Sex Toys section (I was surprised they even had a section like this ), but if you get there and search for Butt Plugs (yah, I know, that sounds unnerving ), there are over 20,000 hits! Are you kidding me? Did you see my other Post mentioning "50 years from now?", well who can imagine what they'll be selling on Amazon then?

Men of LaunchBox? Yikes! I don't suppose there are any Forum members who are also Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Models?
-
I think this has been mentioned in other Threads, but are there any 'official' future plans for a LaunchBox Screensaver?
-
SentaiBrad said Oh, for the calendar I can always get in to a banana hammock and get in to... positions... surrounded by consoles. Dude, not sure why, but when I searched for Banana Hammock on Amazon, I found this sort of stuff : I was assuming you meant one of the mesh things you tie to two trees and lay on it, but aren't you the kinky one!

DOS76 said Its actually very beautiful here in the southern part of the state and in many place in the north too when you get away from the turnpike as you get closer to the city (NYC) it gets much more industrialized and crowded. Yah, every state, even Eew Jersey, has some beautiful scenery somewhere. Not sure why, but I had always 'pictured' NJ as mostly a bunch of oil refineries and tough women that have a heavy accent of some sort. DOS76 said There are way to many people crammed into this place though that's for sure. I won't digress too much, but I believe the majority of the world's problems are because there are way too many f*(%ing people! We can't handle them all (do in large part, I suppose, to the fact millions of 'em don't have any money). In a way, I'm glad I'm in the '4th quarter', as it were. I shudder to think how bad things may be in 50 years (barring our early termination from a nuclear holocaust, courtesy of any number of deranged diaper-heads). Was that politically incorrect? Well, they can call me a bacon-eater. I think I can take it without crying about someone hurting my delicate and fragile feelings. 'Course, if you behead people, burn 'em alive, and other fun stuff such as that, I can't imaging someone calling them names would bother 'em too much. I really need to flee to Belize! Remember in Blast from the Past when Calvin (Christopher Walken), Adam's Dad, emerged from the Bomb Shelter (in his Hazmat Suit) for the first time since 'the blast', and unknowingly finds himself in a sleazy neighborhood and thinks the planet is in a serious world of hurt? Well, unless you have a lot of cash, so you can live in an armed compound (as many retired Americans do in South America, etc.), your neighborhood may someday look like that! P.S. And in a statement not related to my ranting, Blast from the Past is one of those fun movies (for me), such as Groundhog Day, that I can watch numerous times.

An 'I have to pay everything' trip to Eww Jersey (never heard that one (Eew J), but I like it!), now you're talkin'! All I've seen of Eww Jersey is what you can see from the NJ Tollpike. You may have hit on a part-time job opportunity for me, DOS. I could be The Tidy Cable Guy (not to be confused with the Tidy Bowl Guy), or whatever. I'll need a catchy motto, though. How 'bout, "If I can't clear-up your cabling catastrophe, it's orderly appearance is forever futile", or something equally unclever? P.S. The last of my connectors for Cable Management Phase 1 arrived yesterday, so I hope to complete it by tomorrow.

It just occurred to me I have one of those Digital Picture Frames collectin' dust that I could throw some LaunchBox screenshots on. That way I could have images of LaunchBox flyin' around even when I'm not using it!

SentaiBrad said But yea if we could get something going through http://somethingartistic.net/ or http://www.theyetee.com/ (these I learned from GDQ years ago) it would be awesome. http://www.fangamer.com/ would be awesome too. Also, I bought shirts from TheYetee (I love them all!) and I am waiting on Decals from SA (they don't mail out till AGDQ is over). The prices for 'Today's Tee' on The Yetee Site were pretty good, and the everyday prices aren't all that bad, either, really. Brad, I didn't scrutinize those Sites thoroughly, but it wasn't jumpin' out at me if you could custom-make designs for any of the products, or do you just pick from what they have? I didn't know about that AGDQ. That's pretty cool, especially with the charity aspect of it. As of this writing, they're showing some guys playing The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask on an N64. They're close to 4 hours in. It appears they play the entire game from start to finish, not just some particular section or level. I feel like such a Gaming Infant when I watch dudes that really know how to play.

DOS76 said Cool Idea Stimpy. I personally don't do physical calendars anymore because I'm a strictly digital kind of guy. Ah, but the beauty of say, a trippy Daniel Merriam calendar, is a way for me to get a piece of inexpensive artwork every month.
-
Ya know those Websites that'll make a Wall Calendar for ya from photos you upload? I was thinkin' a LaunchBox/BigBox Wall Calendar could be cool, plus I haven't yet procured a 2016 one. Hey, LaunchBox is a good-lookin' program, and I believe a LaunchBox calendar would look nice (to me, anyway). They're not real cheap, to have one custom-made, but I'd pay the extra for a LaunchBox one! If anyone has any really cool screenshots, please post 'em, as they may end-up on my calendar. Perhaps we could even have a "photo contest" and vote on the best screenshots for my (or yours) calendar!

Here's my 'practice run' : Next, my Home Entertainment System's Surge Protector: That huge plug (that says APC on it) goes to a Power Filter ($56 on Amazon) under my stand, for Noise Filtering and additional Surge Protection for my TV and A/V Receiver. I'm still waitin' for a couple of special connectors, but once I get those installed, I'll post a picture of my attempt to 'organize' the major 'rat's nest' behind my Home Entertainment System (which includes 5 Gaming Consoles). It kinda sucks doin' it, but I must admit, I feel a little sense of accomplishment when it's finished.

I'm proposing a Raffle w/proceeds going to LaunchBox development!

SentaiBrad said Hey my game is good! :( Sorry, Brad, I didn't mean to imply it wasn't! It's infinitely better than any game I'm ever gonna write! If anyone's interested, here's a Link to a review (and it's MSRP) of this Denon receiver by Sound&Vision, to help you assess it's value, in the event you were considering it. -

CadetStimpy replied to CadetStimpy's topic in Monkeys
SentaiBrad said Ok, I want to step in here before this goes too much farther. We need to be careful how this is worded and perceived (and I am sorry, I am not trying to say that this idea isn't absolutely awesome!) but we need to make sure that this isn't considered Gambling. Yah, Brad, you're probably right. Some dick might catch wind of our raffle and make things difficult (that's one of the things dick's do, as we know ), and one thing I've learned (but usually don't follow ), is that trouble is usually best avoided. Perhaps interested Forum members (if any) could just send you or Jason some money out of the goodness of their hearts, and then by some quirk twist of fate, one of the aforementioned 'givers' may receive an unexpected gift on their doorstep some day. I actually thought of you guys before Craig's List. I've found when you give someone 90% off the original price of an item (that's in excellent condition, albeit older), they want 95% off! So, I said to myself, "Self, to heck with those clowns, think of a way to drum-up a small donation for LaunchBox"! If anyone can think of a safe way to accomplish this mission, I'd be very glad to hear it! LLL! (Triple L - Long Live LaunchBox). Triple L... Was that the name of some WWF wrestler? Anyway, you guys rock for making the coolest program ever (games themselves notwithstanding ), as far as I'm concerned.
