  1. Unfortunately, it won't be in operation until early next year, and only in Utah, (near Pleasant Grove) for now. If this company's endeavor pans-out, it could be a great location for the 1st Annual LaunchBox Symposium! Guests will be able to enter a "game pod," wearing a custom-made "Rapture" HMD (head mounted display) and vest, to provide 3-D visuals, sound, tactile response (called "haptic feedback") and location tracking. The facilities will be equipped to simulate changes in elevation, vibrations, heat and cold sensations, moisture, and simulated liquids and smells. The simulations will range from fantasy forests to alien planets, the company said. Co-op and multiplayer options will be available, and the gameplay will be family-friendly. Watch the video that's here! The company's Blog.
  2. Subject: How to delete Windows.old (to regain lots of space) Excerpt from the Link below: When you upgrade from Windows 7 or 8.1 to Windows 10, the software retains a copy of your old operating system just in case you want to revert. However, if you decide you're happy running Windows 10 and don't want to roll-back, you're left with at least 15GB of wasted space on your hard drive, all of it stored in a folder called Windows.old. If you simply try to delete the Windows.old directory in File Explorer, the system won't let you remove most of the files because it considers them system files. (I personally recovered nearly 17GB). Anyway, there are many of this particular "How To", but this one's pretty good (an accurate screen-shot for every step, too): How to delete Windows.old
  3. No, not near that bad. I believe they were 'selling' your specific watching habits (for marketing purposes, no doubt) to 3rd-Party folks without asking your permission, etc. P.S. Guess I'm subliminally being brain-washed by the Media (and meteorologists). Crap. My 'headline' implied things were a lot worse than they were. Sorry!
  4. Spying TV Visio was slapped with 2 Class-Action Lawsuits this month regarding the allegations. Here's part of one of 'em:
  5. Price = $425 = Expensive, but, the materials will be chosen based upon your taste for color. Buy it here.
  6. Who in the hell buys this stuff? The "Premium Edition" is $100,000 (+ Shipping, etc.)! It's over 8 feet (2.54m) tall and weighs over 800 pounds (365kg)! But it would sure look cool in a Man Cave!
  7. WCCFtech Gaming Link P.S. Keep on scrolling down when ya get there, as quite a bit more takes a moment to appear.
  8. Click here for the sorta wooden PS4.
  9. Rockstar Editor P.S. This software has been around for a while (but I just now heard of it). Anyway, you may wanna check-out the video. It looks impressive and fun.
  10. Too many toys and not enough $$$! 21:9 UltraWide Gaming Monitors
  11. Okay, I'm takin' up a collection for my Christmas gift. JK! But check this out! If you're interested in this thing at all, be sure to check-out some of the videos. Some are with professional drivers that train on the thing. The motion of the CXC is so precise, it's insane. CXC Motion Pro II Racing Sim Website. Click here to go right to the Images and all the Videos. Click here to go directly to one of many videos on YouTube. Yah, there's some bad news - pricing starts at $54 Grand. But wait! It does come with a high-powered Gaming PC, the monitors, etc.
  12. This story is some weeks old now, but I was unable to activate my copy of Windows 10. I had purchased my copy of Windows 8.1 from Discount Mountain Software out of Denver, CO. As it turned out, this happened: Discount Mountain Software, Matt Lockwood, Fraud, sued by Microsoft (What the company was apparently doing, was to take Product Keys off old computers and resell them, etc.). Crap, guess I shoulda researched the company more, although in their early days, they were considered reputable. Anyway, since my Win8.1 Key was apparently 'illegal', I was unable to activate my upgraded-to copy of Windows 10. After some research, it seemed my only legal option was to purchase another copy of Windows and use that Key. Really? Crap! I had already purchased a copy (unfortunately, a thief got the money, damn it!) so naturally, I didn't want to buy another one. However, my only 'not buying another copy' option was to use one of those 'Key Generators', which I did. I figure after a year, I'll have to purchase a new copy anyway, but for now, I guess I'm stealing from Microsoft, technically. I generally try to avoid stealing. What do you think? 13. 13?! Reminds me of the first 'saying' I learned in the Army: "Hurry-up and wait"!
  14. Well, I'll eventually see if their Features & Tweaks are worth 'getting excited about'.
  15. Well, it says it's a 'Sale' (although the prices aren't impressing me), so I'm passin' it on... Steam Machine Launch Sale
  16. I didn't realize how big?/small? the Titanic was until I saw it with something else.
  17. How 'bout this bit of a Steam Punk behemoth? Certainly on the other end of the aesthetically pleasing scale , but it allegedly runs silently (and cool, obviously). Click here for details.
  18. CADScott said That first PC was the inspiration for my current machine, which is an All-in-One gaming PC, where the components mount behind the 27" monitor and form the stand. It is certainly no where near as pretty as either of those machines, but it makes my gaming PC into a "Portable" machine! I haven't taken any pics of this machine complete, as I am not yet happy with the wiring (Too much time playing games through Launchbox!) but you can see the setup in these build pics. Cool idea, CADScott. Looks as if you know your way around sheet-metal. Perfect spacing on those rivets, it appears. I'd be interested to see the finished product, as I'm always open to new cable-management ideas. Well, you certainly have plenty of room to work with. I don't know if you'd even want to (or could), as large holes would need to be made (unless you sent the cables around the edges, but is there room to run any cables between the back of the monitor and the back of the 'stand'?
  19. Jason Carr said Wow, holy crap the top one is beautiful. Now *that* is a perfectionist. What a beautiful build. I don't mind admitting, I'd be pretty damn proud if I could say I had designed and built it! Crap, I dunno, but one must have some level of plain, ol' artistic talent to even envision such a project. I'm envious. Being a person preferring blues, greens, and purples over reds, yellows, and oranges, my only change to the entire build would be to have the overall color be say, blue, instead of red, and then making those central, spiral 'coolers' predominately red. Plus, that could give it the appearance of a 'heart' in the center of the masterfully built bio-mechanical organism. The way the main components were placed, sectioned off, and then bordered by those light strips was gorgeous. The alignment of everything appears impeccable, and no doubt is. I don't think it'd surprise me if the 'mounting board' was a slab of granite! And last, but not necessarily least, the old-school VU meters in the lower-right corner. Brilliant!
  20. DOS76 said They R both incredible You got that right, DOS! What I liked most about the Open-Case one was the shiny , angled fittings for the cooling system. No hoses bending around (obviously that can look great, if done well), but a more 'Tetris' approach, I guess. And the fan array! Besides it's impressive size (), it was beautifully lit, and I even thought those little, polygon-shaped hooeys in the corner of each fan were a decent color choice, and well as more originally shaped.
  21. Yah, there's minimum filtration, but after a quick blast with the leaf-blower, the dust has been relocated! [sp_show_poll id="3"]
  22. I finally got around to watching this, and was duly impressed. The one that looked like a NES controller was a neat and well executed idea, but that last one was 'over the top' cool. And he built it from scratch?!?! I wish I had skills like that. Even just thinking-up all the cool things that were incorporated in it is well beyond my 'designing cool stuff' skill level.
