  1. Hey, Derek, do you know if there's a way to get those recent Builds if you're not an 'Insider'? I never installed the Tech Preview, but just upgraded to v10 from v8.1.
  2. The Lian Li PC-Y6 The Desk seems more practical, though.
  3. SentaiBrad said Oh I knew that, but VR and holograms aren't the same. :P True, but it holds more promise than Atari 2600 porn!
  4. SentaiBrad said Sex Holograms. Looks as if we won't need to wait 50 years! I just read an article in PC World that Naughty America has VR porn! The way the guy described it, it reminded me of that "scene" in the movie Brainstorm.
  5. Speakin' of excessive... 128Gb DDR4 RAM Kit!
  6. Origin Access
  7. 8Tb Hard-Drive Excessive file-hoarding takes another leap forward!
  8. Well, your Graphics Card is ready! You have a serious amount of buttons on your Bookmarks Toolbar, Brad. I love it!
  9. But, there's always this (if ya go there, scroll down for figurines of other game characters): Or this:
  10. Unethical to toast their data? Oh, dear! How 'bout a lynching, then?
  11. DOS76 said To my best recollection if you don't have a Nvidia 970 or higher (not sure what model Raedon card you would need) then no VR for you. Yup, Derek, you're right. Here's what I got when I ran the test: Click here for what to do if you get a similar error, but the resolution for this error is to (according to Oculus Support): 1) Upgrade your Graphics Card or use a different PC
  12. Is your PC Rift Ready? My 8-core, 4MHz AMD FX-8350 processor is marked as too wimpy! You may have noted, the price is a good bit higher than initially expected, too.
  13. SentaiBrad said We'll deal with it though. Thanks, Guys! P.S. You guys are tricky - perhaps you could unleash some low-level, hard-drive formatting virus on any LaunchBox Forum perpetrators!
  14. DOS76 said There are way to many people crammed into this place though that's for sure. Yup, you weren't makin' it up (I didn't think you were ). According to the Census Bureau Website, NJ is the most densely populated state of the 50, at 1,218 people/sq mi! In contrast, Alaska comes in last, with 1 person/sq mi.
  15. One of my Old School favs for wasting CPU cycles is LavaLamp. It's just an animated Lava Lamp (you can select different colors and speeds) that runs in your SystemTray. I uploaded the executable (and it said it was successful), but I don't see it in the Preview. P.S. You'll need Msvbvm50.dll to run it, but I couldn't upload that.
  16. Ninja Motorcyclist (The fun starts about 18 seconds in).
  17. Physics in Slo-Mo (The fun starts about 27 seconds in).
  18. Another decent one for 'System Maintainence' is Glary Utilities. The Pro version is pictured, but the Free one is similar.
  19. I think CCleaner (PC Optimization tool) and Speccy (advanced System Information tool) from Piriform are likable.
  20. P.S. Folder Size is a newer program that's somewhat similar to WinDirStat. Here's a screenshot of one view:
  21. DOS76 said As for freeware I like Clover for a more advanced Windows Explorer, Revo-uninstaller. KeepAliveHD which writes small txt file to your hard drive at a specified increment to keep it from spinning down was getting excessive head parking on all of my WD Green drives and this has slowed down the occasion that it happens. CDisplayEx as a Comic Reader. ARS Clip as a copy and paste tool. SpeedFan for temp readings. Bulk Rename Utility whose name pretty much says it all. Derek, just between you and Brad, I've already got some hours of tryin' new stuff ahead of me! Thanks, guys!
  22. WinDirStat (also available on SourceForge) is a disk usage statistics viewer and cleanup tool for various versions of Microsoft Windows. It's not fast, but it looks cool. When you first launch it, there are little Pac-Men going back and forth, 'gathering' the stats. As you can see in the upper-right, the files are color-coded by type. I've been using WinDirStat for over a decade! Each rectangle represents a file, with its size being 'to scale' with respect to the others. You can't see my cursor, but it's hovering over one of the red rectangles near the center of the whole thing. Anyway, if you look in the lower-left corner, you can see the name and location of the file it represents, which in this case is the movie, The Muppets, in MP4 format. In the screenshot below (C-Drive only), I have selected that monster purple rectangle, and can see it's my hiberfil.sys file (for when your system Hibernates). I find it a fun way to discover huge files you may not need.
  23. SentaiBrad said This is cool, but does it integrate where the Search bar goes? That would be my only question. I use W10, I hit start and just start typing. :P Well, there's an icon in the SystemTray, that when clicked once, opens the window for it and the cursor is waiting in the Search Field. Did that answer your question? Ooohhh, I knew you'd have some cool ones, Brad! With that Ninite one (pronounced as when you put your kid to bed? ), can you select where things are initially installed, or does it put everything in C:/Program Files? I was surprised when I went to the Website at how many of the programs listed in the middle of the page, that I already use, or at least know of. I use FileHippo File Manager, too. That's a good one. I'm gonna check-out your other ones, too! That Advanced SystemCare looks pretty slick!
