All of that looks great

Turns out that after restarting the computer and running Crystal emulator the icon is now appearing on the taskbar so the method is still 100% success for me. Now if I could figure out how to set Launchbox to launch the game it launches the emulator and then you Load game from game list not as convenient but since the list is small not to bad same for CPS3 which is only six games. This would be less convenient in Kawakas

What is the emulator's name that emulates the games? I have been getting random arcade emulator running lately so I am interested in setting up another one.

I actually do use Calibre for my eBooks but I don't like how I have to actually import the files into the Calibre Library. My comic library is almost 2TB so I don't really want to duplicate it in Calibre as I have it backed up a few times already (I have the library duplicated with StableBit DrivePool on Window Home Server 2011 and have a single copy on my Server 2012 R2 Essentials and on the 10TB (2x5) backups for my bedroom PC) If Calibre had a feature like LaunchBox where I could choose to leave the files in their current location I would consider it but truthfully I find that Jason's program is more visually appealing the Calibre's UI (No disrespect to Calibre in anyway though it is a very nice piece of software for sure)

As Crystal only emulates 2 games (both playable in MAME) its really not that big of a deal. One is a soccer game and the other The Crystals of Kings actually looks like it might be pretty cool. I so badly want to build a 4 Player sit down arcade machine! For one because it would be sick to have one and two it would give me an excuse to buy a new PC. I'm thinking I would just buy the components and mount them to a wooden board and then mount this to the inside of the cab thus saving the cost of a case. Also would probably just mount a flat screen so I would only need half a cab to hold the computer and support the arcade board. I would run the control sticks via USB right to some internal usb to external usb adapters and then some how mount a usb hub on both sides and have some way to have all of my console specific controllers and my Arcade Guns light guns neatly arranged on both sides. Unfortunately I'm just pipe dreaming (with out the pipe) since I don't know where I would be able to place this in my house (Or how I would be able to also connect my Logitech G27 Racing wheel without it looking like an eye sore).

.exe in the folder

I was playing around today with getting both CPS3 and Crystal Systems emulator working (which I did) that is when I noticed that Crystal didn't have an icon on the taskbar so I searched for an image and they didn't seem to have one so I decided to create my own. I used the above method but for some reason it added the icon to the .exe but it doesn't show on the taskbar. This is the first time I tried this and it didn't work so I guess it only works sometimes. I made the icon by grabbing an image of a crystal, downloading a font called crystalline, word, snipping tool and the above mentioned ConvertICO.com.

huh if I run the .bat outside of Launchbox it gives me a mount switch syntax error and then SSF comes on with out a game loaded. If I run it from with in Launchbox the same happens minus the error message.

Ok I just ran into a little issue while adding the Sega Model 3 emulator Super Model to LaunchBox after adding the games without any issues there was little to no images the ones there showed up weren't correct so I started to edit because it's only a few games so after flinking the game with the info from the database it moves the game into my MAME Arcade catagory which I didn't want to happen. So is there anyway to have multiple arcade categories as I was planning on adding Model 2 Kawaks Demul Nebula to Launchbox. I Changed the Platform and it went back to where I wanted it.

Thanks I'll have to give it a try tomorrow and let you know how it goes.

I am having this issue also but I am using DTLite and there isn't a DTAgent.exe in the folder

Nice I like to put in my feature request for comic book and ebook support. As you can see from another topic addressing launching videos from LaunchBox the comics look great in the app but actually adding the books one by one is tedious to say the least and there still isn't even data for them. If there was a tool that extracted the thumbnail from each file or extracted the first image of the archive (cbr and cbz files are a bunch of sequentially numbered images compressed together in a rar or zip and then the file extension is changed to cbr for rar and cbz for zip (explanation for anyone who doesn't know anything about digital comics)) this would at least get you the cover art for each file but it would be awesome if it generated metadata with it also.

I recently noticed that both the SSF emulator and the 4DO emulator don't have an icon that shows on the taskbar just a blank looking form in order to change this I did this few step process and added my own. 1st step was to locate an image that you would like to make the icon. Both images that I chose where PNG so I used the website ConvertICO.com to generate my images as Icons (the 4DO image had to be altered in Paint first to eliminate some unwanted elements) 2nd I then moved the Icons to the folders with the emulators .exe 3rd Install a program called Resource Hacker then right click on the emulators .exe and chose open with Resource Hacker from the context menu 4th In Resource Hacker go to the Action tab and chose add resource a new windows will open then select open file with new resource you will then have to select the file that you wish to be the icon give it a name and language the resource is in click add resource and then save the changes Resource Hacker will make a new .exe and rename your old .exe as original.exe Finally run your newly created .exe and see your icon pop up on the taskbar

I started playing my cousins 2600 when ever we stayed at my aunts. Then my parents got my brother and me a Sega Master System (we wanted a Nintendo) We actually ended up liking the Sega anyway and our grandparents ended up getting us a Nintendo that we could play at their house so we made out. I am glad I discovered emulation because we don't have any of that old stuff anymore.

Not sure where to get them legitimately I get all mine from torrent sites. I don't even begin to know what would be suitable for a young girl to read. KAT has a large collection of Disney comics that I recently added to my library plus there are Simpsons comics that would probably be suitable for children.

Are you refusing to call it Kodi like I am? But yeah before Plex updated a year or two ago to what they are now I preferred XBMC but now its all Plex all the time. I also have a Subsonic Server that I purchased for like 9 years for under what one year of Xbox Music pass cost. I rarely ever use it but still have it running.

Ok I kept playing with it and I figured out how to load individual files or folders just had to add the CDisplayEX as an emulator.

I have multiple HTPC's throughout my home I opt for the Logitech K400R (I own 5) which isn't that small but is small enough (while still having almost all the functionality of a full keyboard) I also have a few Media Center remotes that act as secondary controllers plus running unified remote so I can also use my phone to control everything in a pinch
-
I added the program CDisplayEX which is a comic book reader since I have a sick collection of digital comics this does allow me to launch the program and add the platform but I was hoping I would somehow be able to then load all my comics into the platform through the import roms then add cover art and launch individual issues from there I really think a program identical to launch box that displayed your comic or even ebook library and then simply launched them from your favorite reader would be awesome I Wish I knew how to even start developing something like that (I would call it ComicBox as a tribute to the program that inspired the idea). As for the media you mentioned above I just use Plex it is an insane platform that works on Mac, Linux, Windows, Nas servers as well as having apps for IOS, Android, Windows Phone, Windows Store, X-Box 360, X-Box One, Playstation 3, Playstation 4, Roku and many major smart TV's. It also features DLNA capabilities and remote access which is great since it gives you the ability to start managed accounts and share your media with friends no matter where they may be.

We have already been discussing this I'm hoping to see it added in the future https://www.launchbox-app.com/forum/features/keyboard-navigation
-
I know in Plex Home Theater where the keys perform different duties they use shift + letter for navigation instead of just the letter.
-
I already have both PS versions running just haven't tried to run them through Launch Box

Just found a post that list Virtual Pinball as working with Launch Box

All emulators and ROMs are located on a network share \\"ServerName"\ Emulators and all PC's have access to them. Resetting the paths is ideal but wouldn't be that much of a hassle anyway as long as the games and all of their metadata are duplicated. The visual aspect is the top priority especially since the usability is there with all of the platform I have tried so far I haven't gotten into anything to complex yet like Playstation 1/2, Sega Saturn or Dreamcast. I have been reading a tutorial on how to configure Virtual Pinball and everyone is using Hyper-Pin as the front-end but I am wary of the Hyper name since Hyper-Spin was impossible for me to configure but I digress I was wondering if you or anyone else knew if I would be able to setup the pinball tables to launch from inside of Launch Box I was thnking that would be pretty cool if so. Oh yeah I forgot to mention thanks for taking time to answer my question its appreciated.
