Yes, its very heavy on the CPU, plus its very early days of its life so give it time.

It's such a tough question to give a definitive answer to because it really depends on the game and CPU. Your CPU is an early generation i7 so that is not going to give you very good performance with Cemu. I would suggest trying out Mario 3D Worlds and Wind Waker HD and see how those games work for you. I have those 2 games running at 100% speed on my AMD 8350. I did this small guide here:
-
Depends on the game and the exact core. There are "special chip" dumps for certain games like Mario Kart and the Mega Man X games that are required in the \system folder. Try using the Mercury version of the BSnes core, it can emulate these chips at a high level. You may have to double check in the "Core Options" for it to make sure it is set to HLE. If it is set to LLE then it requires those special chip dumps.

Yeah the old SweetFX was a DX9 only thing.

No problem.

Good to hear.

I enable it using the command line parameter -ss.input.port1 3dpad but it can be enabled in config file if you prefer that way. With it enabled using the command line or the config file then when you do the alt+shift+1 to setup your controller it should then allow you to bind it. Once enabled you can then toggle it on and off using whatever you set as your "mode" button on your controller.

The Retroarch core still doesn't have the 3d analog stick controller support which sucks but the stand alone version does.

I don't see why a newer version wouldn't work if it supported those sweetfx_settings files, otherwise you may have to look into other ReShade effects. But again I am no expert at all when it comes to ReShade, it's not something I use on a regular basis and in the past I have had / seen mixed results because of different versions and different games using different apis. I looked into hiding that Reshade text at the start but I couldn't find anything to get rid of it even though in the global_settings.txt there seems to be a way but nothing worked. I kinda like it there because it means its working lol.

I had an older version of ReShade with SweetFX on my hard drive from a while ago, I believe it is version 1.1. It has a Reshade Setup.exe which you run and then point it to the exe that you want to inject the shaders into and select which api you are using (DX9, DX11 or OpenGL) and it installs the necessary files and folders to that folder, those are the files and folders I compressed and uploaded in my previous post. The only changes I have made for myself was to remove the curvature effect. Here is a zip file of the Reshade version I used, simply extract it to its own folder on your computer and then run the ReShade Setup.exe, pick the game or program and then the api you are using with that program and it will copy the files to that game / program folder and then edit the SweetFX_settings.txt in the SweetFX folder. If other Japanese region games aren't loading then you have incorrect bios for that region. They could be named correctly but the check sums don't match and Retroarch can be very picky about the bios files.
-
Do other Japanese games work ? If no then get another Japan region bios, if yes then try getting another copy of those games that aren't working.

Ok, I did get this to work but with some caveats. First, I "installed" the necessary files to my Demul folder using an older version of ReShade / SweetFX 2.0. Second, the effect may change based on your monitors resolution. My monitor is a 2560 x 1440 resolution and the scanline spacing is uneven and I do need to tinker with it. I have attached a zip file of what I have and it should work if you just extract it to your Demul folder. The dxgi.dll, dxgi.log, ReShade.fx and Sweet.fx files will be in the Demul folder with your Demul.exe and the SweetFX folder will sit there with other folders. In the SweetFX folder you will see a SweetFX_settings.txt and SweetFX_settings.txt.bak. The .bak one is the stock file with no changes but the SweetFX_settings.txt is the preset you linked in the original post. This theoretically should work with any emulator or game that uses DX11 but of course I cannot guarantee that. To make adjustments open the SweetFX_settings.txt in notepad and look for the effects you want to edit which will most likely be in the Advanced CRT Settings section. Reshade Demul.7z

I'll have a go at this and see what I can figure out with it. I have used SweetFX and ReShade in the past with some success but it can be a bit of a pain in the ass because of different hardware and direct x versions and the compatibility. I was able to setup a crt look with SSF even though the look wasn't anything near what I really would have liked it wasn't absolutely awful either.

I suggest using the stand alone version over the Retroarch core.

I just read this and thought it was appropriate and timely. https://arstechnica.com/gaming/2017/04/the-first-kirby-game-was-programmed-without-a-keyboard/

More specifically the xml for the platform you are changing your rom paths for like Sega Genesis.xml in your \LaunchBox\Data\Platforms\ folder. Edit: Yup
-
No problem. Someone else posted this code a while back for another emulator so I cannot take any credit for it at all, just relaying for others
-
There is no bulk edit rom path feature in Launchbox yet though it is something I have been asking Jason for a while. The easiest ways right now is to either remove your games from LB and re-import them or use a text editor like Notepad++ to "find and replace" the path in the platform.xml, this is the way I did it when I moved my roms before. If you do the re-import you can turn off the data and image scraping in the import wizard to speed it up.

Put the following code in the autohotkey script tab of the edit emulator window for your Higan entry. $Esc:: { Process, Close, {{{StartupEXE}}} }

It's on the long terms goals wishlist as far as I am aware of.

LOL, no you don't, it wasn't fun.

I thought machine or assembly was the what all the kids are coding in today

If the non UI version of Mame was being used I would say you needed to enable it in the plugin.ini, but since its a UI version I don't know where you do that at.

Oh hell yeah, gotta love the old school Suicidal Tendencies. Listened them pretty hardcore back in my middle and high school skater days.
