X-Arcade controller you mean ? For NeoGeo the difference between RA and Mame is very minimal.
  2. Lordmonkus

    Neo Geo

I prefer running it through Mame actually.
  3. Lordmonkus

    Neo Geo

Cool, glad you got it working.

    Neo Geo

It may or may not work. I do not know what version of your NeoGeo roms you have and if they are compatible but if they are a relatively new rom dump they should be just fine. My NeoGeo roms work in both Mame and Retroarch.

    Neo Geo

You are missing some bios files, here is a screenshot of my neogeo.7z bios file with the files you are missing highlighted.

    Neo Geo

Ok now were getting somewhere, your config is working but now your rom is off, it's missing some rom files.
  7. Lordmonkus

    Neo Geo

It shouldn't if you still have Arcade in the Associated Platforms column.
  8. Lordmonkus

    Neo Geo

Yeah enter Arcade in the Associated Platforms section but leave the command line parameters empty and import your rom into the Arcade platform if it isn't in there already.
  9. Lordmonkus

    Neo Geo

Yeah still have the platform you have your roms imported into, if its Arcade put that in there or if it is NeoGeo put that in there.
  10. Lordmonkus

    Neo Geo

Try loading a game using Mame but clear out the command line parameters.
  11. Lordmonkus

    Neo Geo

You are trying to load the retroarch core with the mame.exe, thats not gonna work
  12. Lordmonkus

    Neo Geo

    We've already covered that
  13. Lordmonkus

    Neo Geo

You can put your roms wherever you want but you have to edit your mames rompath to point to that location. printscreen and paste into paint is the best way I know of, but if you just want the window hold alt while pressing print screen will just capture the active window.
  14. Lordmonkus

    Neo Geo

NeoGeo and Mame bios do not go in the system folder at all, they go in the same folder as the roms themselves.
  15. Lordmonkus

    Neo Geo

Then you got something off in Launchbox. If the game is loading through Mame and doesn't load through Launchbox using that same Mame.exe you have a Launchbox configuration problem. Can you post a couple of screen shots showing the different config windows including your platforms list ?
  16. Lordmonkus

    Neo Geo

Try loading the game through Launchbox using that Mame as the emulator.
  17. Lordmonkus

    Neo Geo

Do you have the game working through stand alone Mame at all ?
  18. Lordmonkus

    Neo Geo

How about if you run them through Mame in Launchbox ?
  19. Lordmonkus

    Neo Geo

Do you have the extract archive enabled ? It should be unchecked. Or any thing else checked in the Emulator Details tab of the Edit Emulator window.
  20. Lordmonkus

    Neo Geo

I use the fbalpha_libretro.dll core and it works fine. Do you have -L "cores\fbalpha_libretro.dll" set in your Edit Emulator Associated Platforms window and have the proper matching Platform name ?
  21. Lordmonkus

    Neo Geo

It will show up if you import it but you can easily remove it during the import process or after they are all imported you can just remove it from the games list.
  22. Lordmonkus

    Neo Geo

Just put the zip file in the same folder as the roms, no extracting or anything.
  23. Lordmonkus

    Neo Geo

do you have the neogeo.zip bios file in the same location as your game roms ?
  24. GroovyMame has been on a bit of a hiatus since 171 and Mame went full open source. Version 171 was also before the good changes to HLSL shaders so I have been using normal Mame lately. For those of you who don't know what GroovyMame is, it is a version of Mame built specifically for old school CRT displays and focuses heavily on low input lag. But it's not exclusively for CRTs and LCDs users can benefit from GroovyMame as well. GroovyMame also has the benefit of built in nag screens disabled with just a simple lines added into the ini file. No needing to find one already compiled with it off or compiling your own. Here is all the information on GroovyMame http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,151459.0.html You will need to download the official build of Mame 177 and install it first then extract the GroovyMame exe and replace or just simply rename the GroovyMame exe to something else and drop that in your Mame folder and use that exe.
  25. Yeah I have a Samsung TV as well but it's not my main gaming display, G-Sync monitor for the win.
