How do i import Wii games from WBFS format HDD? - SOLVED

WBFS files work fine. Launchbox has no effect on whether or not the file type is supported or not, it's the emulator that matters. -

Mupen64plus Setup Tutorial (Launchbox Compatible)

Hmmm, couldn't tell you honestly. Citra is one of those emulators I have not really followed too closely because of how early it is in development. Not much point in worrying about it til it gets more developed. PS3 and Xbox360 emulation is in the same boat for me, too early to even worry about yet. -

Getting CItra to run is actually quite easy, it's finding the decrypted roms that is the hard part and the official builds are not what I would consider in a usable state yet. -

Citra is the only 3DS emulator that I am aware of and if you get an unofficial build which aren't freely distributed it is in a semi usable state. It's still very development for the emulator and games that work vs not work vary. Luigis Mansion 2 just crashes on the build I have some other games run just fine. -

Without knowing the actual build change logs it is impossible to know exactly what's different but I would say those "nightly" builds on EmuCR aren't any really difference compared to the official builds. -

Project 64 is decent and depending on the game its the better emulator. Like I have been saying about N64 emulation, it's not a case of which is the best emulator, it's which emulator is the least worse and best for which game or games you want to play. -
It may not be needed but I always have it there anyways.

More performance is always a good thing, especially for those on slower systems. Funnily enough I find BigBox mode faster than normal mode and I actually use normal mode most often by far.

FBA is better than the Mame core. The core I use is fbalpha_libretro.dll, which one that is exactly in the core updater I can't remember. The bios files would be neogeo.zip and qsound.zip. Also just using the standard stand alone Mame is an equally good choice and in some ways better. The way I think it is better is with Mame I can use an HLSL shader setup which works perfectly with both horizontal and vertical oriented games whereas in Retroarch if you are using some sort of CRT scanline type of shader they only work well for the horizontal games. Now if you aren't using a CRT scanline shader that won't matter.

We really need better quality cover sources...

Submitted data is reviewed and approved or declined because if it wasn't there would be too many people over writing other people submissions and often not for the better. So there has to be some control over it.- 59 replies

Everything you see here on the forums are all people volunteering their time, moderators like myself and Zombeaver are not paid employees. Don't take Zombeavers comments too personal, he's the grumpy muscle so I don't have to be and no wants me to be that guy, trust me- 59 replies

Retroarch and yes bios files are necessary, they will go in the same location as your game roms.

Hopefully BigBox suits your needs and I am sure others around here can help you out further with your needs. My advice for you though is stick with Retroarch for the most part for your emulation needs. I know you don't want to have to use a keyboard and mouse but it advisable to have at least a wireless one around just in case you need it. It is still a windows PC after all and things do happen where you will need it from time to time. There are lots of tutorials especially on the Launchbox Youtube channel and many people around here that can help you out with any specific questions you may have.

What you are running into is a problem for everyone no matter what front end you are talking about. Either you use something like Hyperspin (or any other front end) and you have to download art from somewhere like Emumovies and rename everything (either the rom files or the art files) to match up exactly to get it to work. Or in the case of Launchbox which at least is more forgiving in the file names and we are working on the database which as you already know is a huge task but it at least semi automates things. I cannot comment on whether or not hooking into gamefaqs is a viable option or not, maybe @Jason Carrcan shed some more light on to that. You also have to remember that Launchbox is a one man operation which is Jason. There is no big team of developers or behind the scenes people working on all of this stuff. It's the community that is helping put everything together and it is still a work in progress and probably will be ongoing for quite a long time because of the sheer volume. A prime example right now would be the Amiga section of the database. Because of all the different games and naming conventions used in the files it's tough to even know where to begin to get that into something resembling a usable state. Anyways, if you want to contribute to the database art you are more than welcome to do so and I am sure it would be greatly appreciated.- 59 replies

That's ok. Just use the other one in the downloads section for updating with newer versions and it will be easier for people to find over there. Over time this thread will get buried and forgotten about just like the bodies in my backyard.... oh wait was that out loud, forget that part about the bodies. -

Looks like a useful program for some people. Could you upload this to the downloads section of the forums in the Third-party Apps and Plugins section ? You manage updates that way easier as well. http://forums.launchbox-app.com/files/category/5-third-party-apps-and-plugins/ -
Ahh yeah that will work just fine.

Any way to specify retroarch shaders for the device?
Lordmonkus replied to Tony's topic in Emulation
Are you wanting to use 2 different shaders for 1 game ?
