  1. Honestly it sounds either like a software corruption issue or Hardware issue. Have you tried basic troubleshooting, like redownloading the emulator directly from the source? What Romset are you using? Have you tried using another emulator? Some more info would allow people to help you more.
  2. Mame is super simple on RetroArch, here is a quick rundown/setup instructions. 1. Make sure both the normal MAME roms and the CHDs are the same version (Honestly the CHDs being .199 shouldn't be a problem, but MAME is always super picky about that crap, just update them). Then make sure they are the same version as the core (.205 is the newest one and it looks like you are already using the .205 romset, just use the normal MAME core, don't mess around with the older MAME cores that have years next to them) 2. the CHD folders need to be in the same folder as the normal MAME roms, for those CHD games to work. 3. Load up a couple games you know should work, like Donkey Kong or Dig Dug or Street Fighter 2. Everything should work fine. If not, I remember a while ago, that you needed to have a Mame folder in the System directory (where you put all the Bioses). Not sure if that is the case now or not, but you might want to try , I know highscore and cheats won't work unless the highscore and cheat files are in the folder in the system directory.
  3. The Reicast core in RetroArch also plays Atomiswave and Naomi games extremely well too. I prefer to use RetroArch over all other emulators for ease of use and complete customization. Plus Demul as far as I know hasn't been updated in years and Reicast has been updated pretty regular as of late. But again, whatever you want is fine.
  4. Sadly, no, I gave up on it months ago, RetroArch has more important things to do than fix something that should be a no brainer, like backporting the emulator to Windows 3.1 and PS2 instead.... I kid...kinda... But yeah, I think the only way to really get those games to work is basically just use another emulator. It sucks, but I don't see the RetroArch team ever going back and fixing it, and I'm not going to hold my breath.
  5. Teknoparrot does work, the biggest issue is getting the file to download since Chrome & Defender both registers it as malware and its a pain. Once you whitelist it, and set it up (their emulator configuration is weird and un-intuitive) it works pretty well.
  6. Just open file explorer, go the your emulator folder and create two new folders, name one PCSX2 (USA), and one PCSX2 (Japan)...(Or whatever you want to name them, NTSC or whatever makes sense to you, but if you are doing them for different regions, just make it easy on yourself) Then copy over the emulator to both of the folders, then in Launchbox, go to the Manage Emulators option, add, then just add the first one for normal use, set that up,and make sure you name it something easy to differentiate (again, USA/Japan, try to keep a uniform naming convention so you don't get confused) then do the same thing with the Japan one. Then Import your ROMs and name the System the same that you did for the emulators. And you are good to go. Obviously you'll probably have to go into the emulators and do some additional setup, but that is what the PCSX2 config plugin is for.
  7. Yeah, you absolutely can do this, I've done it for Dolphin for the base version, and the VR version. It's super easy to setup.
  8. Excellent, that's all I needed to know. I'll stick with my bin+cue files then.
  9. So it looks like there are a ton of different file formats being used now, and I'm honestly confused as why. If someone could just answer a few questions, I'd think that would help out everyone here. I'm going through and wanting to make my set complete and want to never touch it again after this last round of updating, so having the best files would be nice, running on a top end PC, so space and hardware isn't an issue. Using Retroarch for primarily everything unless it doesn't have a core, then I'll use the most popular/best choice. 1. For PSX what is the best file format now? CHD? PBP? SBI? Bin&Cue? 2. For Dreamcast, is .gdi the best or are there CHDs now or something else everyone is using?
  10. Has anyone figured out how to setup Retroarch's Daphne core? I want to use it, but I have no clue on how to set it up, compared to the normal Daphne emulator. Anyone have any guides or can offer a bit of basic setup help?
  11. Since last weeks tutorial is already obsolete, is there any possibility of getting an updated one for getting these games working with Riecast using the mame romset? I really think the most valuable information would be a list of just what games are for the Naomi and Atomiswave.
  12. What is the best place to grab the .lst files? I got them from Nyaa and whoever did them did a terrible job. Some are missing, lots have doubles, misspelling and flatout wrong names.
  13. I don't use bezels or overlays either. I do have the database file as well and sadly I've spent so much time trying to get these running with no luck.
  14. Hopefully we can get this figured out as my thread from September about this on the Genesis core got buried.
  15. Same here too. Something with the new update really broke launching from LaunchBox. Launching from within Cemu, it works fine
  16. Same here. Out of 77 Atomiswave games it only imports 10. Out of 110 Namoi games, it only imports 9 games. I've got all bin/lst and imported the lst files. It will show all the games in the "Select the files to import" menu, but at the last screen, the Ready to Import menu, it'll only list the 9 or 10
  17. I've asked this several times too since the core showed up. Hopefully we can get it working easily and get a tutorial soon
  18. I would love a updated tutorial on using Retroarch's Daphne core, I want to use it, but have no clue on where to start with it.
  19. I just tried all six of the games with the Genesis Plus GX core in RetroArch, and they all work perfectly. You have bad roms. Get the No-Intro set and you won't have any issues.
  20. Ugh... Ok, now I'm running into major issues. I can get the crosshair to show up now, but I can't "fire". Left or right clicking the mouse doesn't fire, and neither controllers will get the game to "fire" or select a thing. So I thought to troubleshoot and make sure other lightgun games work. I went to Duck Hunt for NES, surely this should be easy and work right away.... NOPE. same thing, the mouse moves the Zapper crosshair around but I can not click to fire. Is there something really wrong with my system? I downloaded a new Retroarch build, just incase and its still the same issues. I'm starting to pull my hair out at this, playing Duck Hunt via emulation shouldn't be this hard.
  21. Looks like it's due to the fact that the 2nd player controller needed to be set to MD Menacer. I was only doing it with the 1st Player controller, and the MD Menacer never shows up, I never thought to setup the 2nd player as the gun. Ok, I think I got it now.
  22. Huh, I've never even heard of Body Count, I guess it was only released in Europe, so I never played it here in the states. I loaded it up and it works perfectly, using the D-pad moves the cross hair just fine. I grabbed a new rom of the Menacer game, but it still isn't working. I do have the No-Intro set, so I doubt it was the rom to begin with, but just trying to troubleshoot.
  23. No, the Menacer game, it has a ToeJam and Earl mini game where you use the lightgun to throw tomatoes at humans. It was one of six minigames packed in the cart for the Sega Menacer lightgun.
  24. I went to play the Sega Genesis Menacer Toejam and Earl game, and in RetroArch I am unable to play it at all. I went into the options and made sure "Show Lightgun crosshair" was set to on, but for whatever reason I can not get the game to get passed the menu select screen. No matter if I use my mouse of controller, nothing works.
  25. Gotcha, thanks for the clarification.
