  1. This is my fav thread. I love finding new stuff to play. Added this to my wishlist. looks like a 90s crazy japanese platformer, which is totally my style.
  2. Found this today: Hydorah, a free fast pased indie shmup for windows.(https://www.locomalito.com/hydorah.php) .
  3. Keep it up guys. A lot of good things up here. Sonic AtS and MMX:Corrupted look primo. Whereas DoomRL looks like something that wouldnt work with my arcade.
  4. I love this controller: http://www.qvc.com/qvc.product.E290234.html?ref=GAS&cm_MMC=GOOGLESHOPPINGFEED-_-Electronics -_- Video Games -_-ASUS Bluetooth Wireless Gamepad&E290234&cvosrc=pla.google.ASUS Bluetooth Wireless Gamepad&cvo_cid=108221544387&CAWELAID=120240770002642738&mkwid=s692s4a1n|dc_pcrid_108221544387_pkw__pmt_&CAGPSPN=pla&CAAGID=33824400627&CATCI=pla-280432393881 Though its out of productions now. Just dont like the split dpad, but otherwise, its a very solid controller and batteries last a long time.
  5. While that controller is bad, I was just thinking, Arent Gamecube controlers fully compatible with the N64? I think its just got a couple extra buttons.
  6. split is definitely doable, the argument is that it isn't optimal. But different strokes. Some people will tell you that you can't play a fighter without a tank stick. But where there is a will, there is a way.
  7. Split is fine for platformers, just bad for arcade fighters as you lose the springy half-circle rocking motions you need in most fighters.
  8. My issues with M$'s controllers is that horrid d-pad. Makes playing precision platformers difficult, and I find that more sensitive games dont react well with thumbsticks, easily changing directions mid run with the most minimal of touch. I know it was bothering me a lot in Psycho Waluigi.
  9. https://www.amazon.com/Retro-8Bitdo-Wireless-Bluetooth-Controller-Android/dp/B01M1KP9GT/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1486283953&sr=8-1&keywords=Retro-Bit+8bitdo#customerReviews Apparently, everyone is let down. Mostly because the thumbstick appears to break easy. That's a shame considering how high quality their other controllers have been
  10. That said, Amazon currently has some iBuffalo controllers for $16, which is a good price if you dont care about wireless and dont need thumbsticks. https://www.amazon.com/Buffalo-Classic-USB-Gamepad-PC/dp/B002B9XB0E/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1486283276&sr=8-1&keywords=ibuffalo Honestly, the only thing I need is a good N64 alternative. The legit usb adapter method is fine but its getting harder and harder to find old n64 controllers with tight sticks. I've been told Retrolink is my best option but then ive also heard people saying the buttons have too much resistance.
  11. Aye, I've only recently grown okay to the $50 pricetag Sony and M$ have been charging for their official controllers and those are rock solid. I LOVE my SNES30 by 8bitdo though. $25-30 New is an amazing price. Meanwhile comparable iBuffalo controllers dont feel as premium and have jumped from $12 (which was a bargain) to ~$30, which at this point doesnt compare to 8bitdo's offering.
  12. Yeah, the n64 mini has come down to $80 but this time last year was over $100 http://www.ebay.com/itm/Hori-Pad-Mini-Blue-Nintendo-64-Controller-used-N64-Japan-game-accessories-/322405508213?hash=item4b10dda475%3Ag%3AWOgAAOSwyjBW286s Hori is famed in japan for quality tank sticks. Its sad that all the popular 3rd party controller companies here in the states pretty much were selling cheap chinese knock-offs instead of quality components that rivaled official offerings like Hori did in Japan.
  13. Oh, that not bad at all. I guess its because im constantly looking at out of production hori pads. They definitely retain their value in the community. Looking forward to getting the new NX Switch Horipad, but not looking forward to them using that stupid xbox style dpad.
  14. My only issue with Hori is the price. All their shit is like gold. One day I'll get a hori n64 controller though and will mod it to usb.
  15. Was literally about to make a post with suggestions. Anyway, It does depend on application. So for most modern 3d titles. 4 wired Xbox 360 controllers are probably the best all-around controllers that take the most minimal amount of setup. Their biggest drawback is a horrendous d-pad. The D-sticks can also be a pain needing recalibrated often for more sensitive games that would be better off using a dpad. Wireless controllers can be used if you invest in a dongle. but it is the same thing. Zero Latency. The best controller for retro 2d games in general is the 8bitdo Snes 30. This controller is wireless bluetooth and has a fair amount of heft, easily in line with the snes controller. The build quality is high and it doesnt feel cheap or plastic-y. The D-pad is high quality and feels like the original. Also, I notice zero latency. It works on iphone/android/and Windows effortlessly. This is my favorite retro inspired controller. If you want to buy a wireless reciever from their site, you can even use this on a legit NES or SNES. iBuffalo Snes Controller. This is a Japanese Super Famicom inspired controller. Its wired which is its biggest drawback. Otherwise its practically a usb replica that is 100% accurate to the original controller. The Dpad seems even a bit better than the SNES controller as it doesnt wear as fast and retains it's springy-ness which is fantastic for Streetfighter2 Turbo fans. Then you have the PS4 Controller. I love this controller but you need a dongle to use it wirelessly on PC. Also, since it pretty much hijacks the 360 driver and remaps itself, you'll find that while it generally works flawlessly in most game, some will require some setup as they can be mapped kind of wonky. And though rare, I've had issues at times with it not being recognized in some games. I forgot to note that 8bitdo's controllers use keyboard mapping that supports 2 players, but not 3/4 controllers.
  16. Oh, and I shouldn't forget the new Megaman 2.5d (http://petersjostrand.com/)
  17. I've only recently gotten into the world of obscure indie games and fan games and I've run into a few with super high quality that im glad to have on my Launchbox build to show friends. I was hoping you guys could help me find some more. Currently, im quite fond of: Psycho waluigi (http://mfgg.net/index.php?act=resdb&param=02&c=2&id=25698), AM2R (https://archive.org/search?query=am2r), Barkley Shut up and Jam Gaiden (https://www.talesofgames.com/related_game/barkley-shut-up-jam-gaiden/)((https://archive.org/details/Barkley_Shut_Up_and_Jam_Gaiden)), Ghosts'n Demons (https://bonusjz.itch.io/ghostsn-demons), Toadette Strikes Back, (http://www.mfgg.net/index.php?act=resdb&param=02&c=2&id=12431), and Pokemon Type Wild (http://oneweakness.com/pokemon-type-wild.html)((https://archive.org/details/pokemontypewild)), Ragnarok Battle Offline (https://archive.org/details/Ragnarok_Battle_Offline) Mega Man: Day in the Limelight Trilogy (https://fusion-fangaming.itch.io/mega-man-day-in-the-limelight) Super Smash Bros. Crusade (https://smash-crusade.itch.io/crusade) Cant wait to pick your brains for more unique stuff to play!
  18. Im not entirely certain and dont want to give false information but I know someone who may know: @SentaiBrad I know that DosBox comes baked in. And I use Retroarch which is supported and all of it's cores. Aside from that PCSX 2 and Dolphin both are supported which covers the majority of your emulation needs.
  19. Dreamcast wont take much. Dolphin is pretty optimized anymore too. PCSX2 would at minimum need a strong dual-core at near 4ghz. I'd reccomend a gen 2 i5 or better. For Cemu, That emu is still in developement, but basically, as it isnt optimized, you can get too much power for it. I find it playable on a Xeon x5677, but thats a server grade i7 quad, probably close to an i7 2600. So about there is probably minimum. And no less than a gtx 1050 for cemu.
  20. I mean, technically there is a dos build, but I'd probably reccomend a win7 capable machine at minimum. From there it really depends on what you want to emulate. I made a budget build PC from ebay that seems to be capable of most everything out there including some Cemu games for under 250. So you can probably do something similar if you are here in the states. Got an old T3500 with a xeon w3520 (underpowered 6core) in it and 12gb RAM for $35. Then I got an x5677 (Higher Binned quad core xeon with hyperthreading) @ 3.8ghz turbo Xeon for $35. Swapped cpus then picked up a used GTX 1060 3GB for $180. Then I found a 3gb WD Greed HD for $12 usd. And This system is my new htpc. with the added benefit of being able to play pretty much all current gen titles. But I can tell you now, I had this running on an e8400 system with 4gb RAM and a gtx 680 and it was fine. Ultimately, I think any win7 machine will run it but you'll want some horsepower for dolphin/PCSX2/Cemu.
  21. I just google for them. Most arent that good anyway.
  22. they brought this to pc or are you using an android emulator?
  23. Capcom doesnt care if you make fan games so long as you dont profit off it. They have been known to brag and share fanworks in the past so i wouldnt worry about a c&d.
