can we add prototypes and homebrew yet? I really need that function and also the ability to add more genres like pinball, strategy, rts, etc. thanks for the DB work, I have been adding to it on and off for months now. -
my console order is still mixed up - just fyi. maybe this will help narrow it down: it was only out of order in the default "platform". i just chose "platform category" and it sorted again.
-
i think we need more genres in the database, there is nothing for simulation, pinball, rts, etc.
-
it does this for me as well in Launchbox. It would be nice to be able to only download a specific region if there are multiples. Maybe a default region checkbox on the download window? I think it randomly chooses one image for the boxart if you have multiples. I've cleaned the list out and then noticed more the next couple times.

Let's just see what Jason does with the bugfixes. Hopefully he can squash enough of them quick enough that we can get back to adding new features soon. I'm sure he will fix the VLC issue once and for all, it just takes time

i found that to be the best way to deal with MAME myself. I'll have to go back through my Steam imports one of these days.

Hyperspin sets - usually a pain to find. Also, some just found through their forums and some found through segaretro. Hyperbase used to be really helpful, but seems to be down since I started the Game Gear set. Oh yeah, I did make one of the Japanese ones, can't remember which one. Just did it for fun, lol. I strive for accuracy, hopefully everything looks good now in the Game Gear section. IMO - It should be a model section of what they should look like now.

I decided to take on the Game Gear section on my own a couple days before Thanksgiving. I finished all the way up to the letter 'T' and took a break for a couple weeks because I burnt myself out, and someone finished it for me lol. anyway, I went ahead and cleaned up the rest, I had some missing logos and such. I am going to clear my data and redownload the artwork after it is verified and see what it looks like. I will probably do another couple tweaks and it will be 100%. I had a few turned down, I wish there was a way to see what they were, since I added some 3,000+ entries apparently

thanks for the progress!

yeap...i did a bunch of Game Gear stuff. Also a bunch of random edits and pics etc on others. Still learning, but I try to be super accurate

Just wanted to say thank you for working on the Games DB. So far it is the best scraper, and it isn't even done yet. I've been contributing (over 500 accepted with 0 rejected!) and moderating and will continue to do so.

yeah i agree completely

That is an easy way to force the game to play the 32x versions. However, the box art and disc art will be wrong in some instances, and the screenshots will be wrong in all instances. If they are added to their own system, like I just did, then at least the scraped data will be correct. I am not 100% done yet, but they are done for the most part. And everything entered should be correct.

Really looking forward to the GamesDB work. Thanks, Alex Dubois!

i have a suggestion - make it so we can 'lock down' a title's data after it's been filled and verified by the community to be complete and correct (as possible) maybe after a vote has gone through? artwork would still be able to be changed out for better copies when found, but the data should not have to be changed, ever once it is in right. if a title needed to be edited for some reason, there should be a giant red flag, as that title would be marked as complete. -

I read that alternate names were supposed to get its own field at some point. I have denied a couple name changes with the note being please wait until we have an alternate titles field before resubmitting. I denied a few and more and more kept coming up so I stopped for the time being. I had some medical issues I just got taken care of and just didn't have it in me to come here and discuss it, so thank you for bringing it up. -

if you don't pay for emumovies you only get the images and not the videos as far as I know. I paid them a couple years ago. -
looking nice! it is spelled 'Broken' though!

I noticed that the new beta of LaunchBox has some improvements in performance. I now have ~26,000 games in after adding PSP, C64, and a few others. Amiga and MAME are next biggies to add. Performance right now is much better than it was in Images View. - Improvement: The singular LaunchBox.xml file has been replaced with separate XML files in the Data subfolder; this allows for better performance for external integrations like RocketLauncher and LEDBlinky - Improvement: The LaunchBox rendering, data population, and caching engines have been revamped to vastly improve performance I just wanted to say thank you to the devs for listening to us and addressing issues, as I've seen in other areas as well. It's one of many reasons I went premium here. Awesome community, as well!
