This may well be the problem. I'm on 0.236 still so it works fine here.
-
I think something changed with the 0.237 version in regards to the hi2text file being moved, i'll bring it up with the devs.

new to launchbox, same issue with retroarch keeps coming

Dont use Retroarch, its not as good as actual Dolphin, so use that, and add -b -e to the command line. -

You need to add Arcade to the associated platforms for Retroarch, it's not there by default, that's assuming you called the platform Arcade, if you called it something else you need to put that name in the associated platform tab. However i would personally avoid Retroaorch for Arcade and just use MAME. -
You need the official MAME from the mamedev website, no forks are supported. MAME now only supports 64bit systems, hence the 64 being dropped from the .exe, its always 64bit now, so no need to distinguish between 32bit and 64bit. The mame.exe from the current MAME's works just fine still.

I highly recommend using standalone MAME, setting controls in the Retroarch MAME core can be a bit of a nightmare.

BigBox launches emulator not the game
neil9000 replied to pigthewonderdog's topic in Troubleshooting
If you want help maybe you should mention WHICH emulators are doing this? It's clearly a setup issue though as we have tons of users loading games just fine. -
If you know command line, most don't.

BigBox startup video - what happened to the timer setting?
neil9000 replied to ksherfinski's topic in Troubleshooting
They should only be interrupted if you press a button to skip them, otherwise they should play to the end. -
There should be a solution for this in the current release. However it does rely on the devs of those apps accurately tagging them, which they often don't do. The way the current version works is that any app tagged as a game will show, if other apps are also showing then the developers tagged them as games rather than something else, or didnt tag them at all.

"box art font" being the part i was referring to (and font possibly being a typo of front), when you say box art, i assumed you meant box art, which looked just fine.
-
The thing is i dont think it is a "issue" per se, its just a lack of images, or poorly named images in our database. That database is completely user supported by the community, so if you feel that some specific images are missing then you are of course free to add them to the database. At the end of the day we cant scrape images we dont have in our database, or if a image is named incorrectly.
-
What do you mean by personal files? When adding emulators to Launchbox you just give it a name and point it at a .exe file, there is no way for your personal data files to be added, so i don't quite understand the question here.
-
Also it should be noted that you said box art was incorrect, well going on your images that isn't true, it's the clear logo's that were incorrect, so any previous help you received may of been wrong as people would of been looking at the box art, not the clear logo.

My Kung Fu has the correct clear logo. My Kid Icarus also has the Japanese logo. My Smash TV is the same as yours also, but that is simply because we do not have a clear logo for the NES version in our database, the below images are all we have. In the case of Kid Icarus, we have three clear logos on the database, one labelled (Europe), one labelled (Japan), and one more in English, but with no region attached. So my best guess, as we dont have a logo specifically for (USA), or (North America) a random one is chosen. As for Kung Fu, we have two clear logos for that in our database, The Japanese one is labelled (japan), while the English one has no region attached again, so again i'm gonna assume as there is no (USA), or (North America) logo's a random one is downloaded.

"If you previously purchased the LaunchBox for Android app from Google Play, and would like to help us beta test the new version of the app, please email us at support@unbrokensoftware.com with the email on the Google account that you used to purchase. We'll be sending out downloads and license keys to users who have previously purchased the app."

Have you added the platform to the associated platforms for Retroarch? If it work's by itself it will work in Launchbox, you just haven't set it up correctly in Launchbox.

Like i said in my previous reply, remove the / from your last screenshot, that shouldnt be there, simply type your username.
-
The importer is working just fine, so it must be a configuration issue. You don't want a trailing / on your username, it should look like this. Then copy/paste your API key to the next page. Then choose your platform name and media downloads, and you end up with this screen. I have just gone through this process right now to grab these images, so it is in fact working fine, maybe you can share your matching images of mine, as well as making double sure your Steam account is set to public?

Any extra information that isn't the game name should always be bracketed, as it is then omitted from the rom name for purpose of scraping, this is true for any systems, but Amiga has always been a bit of a outlier as they use a really bad naming scheme with no spaces for the actual game name, as well as a bunch of info just stuck on the end of the name, so that is never gonna work correctly for scraping. "1stDivisionManager_v1,0_1800.lha" should really be "1st Division Manager (v1.0_1800).lha". I would recommend using the below tutorial while it is extra manual work, its far quicker than renaming every rom, which is ideally what you would do, as i have done myself, although i only have a curated set of about 300 Amiga roms, but they are all correctly named.
-
It does, so you must of turned that feature off.
-
Just remove that specific xml file, you will of course lose that platform though.
-
No one else will have that file, that is a platform you created called Bootleg, unless someone happens to have exactly the same games as you did you won't gat a replacement file.

Why some custom theme don't show in Bigbox
neil9000 replied to patrickfx's topic in Big Box Custom Themes
If you want your theme available for download in Bigbox, you have to submit it for that, so that it can be tested to make sure it works correctly. LaunchBox - Submit Themes (launchbox-app.com)
