  1. This would be a great feature. I don't buy the argument that it encourages users to add to the database - as for many early DOS games, no boxart exists and an image of the disc or something is used instead. Hassle to go through 3000+ games doing this - would be good to specify a default "missing" image for each system.
  2. Keen to take a look at this!
  3. Any progress here?
  4. Just ran setup....how do we know when it has finished? My CMD window appears to have stopped inflating files, and it says "1 file copied" at the bottom (though it seemed to inflate many files just not 1). And the window just stays there when finished. Also - the folder structure is now D:\launchbox\exodos, with the exodos folder containing the launchbox files. This seems a bit messy, as the launchbox folder is empty apart from the exodos folder. Can I move everything that is in the exodos folder up 1 level into the launchbox folder, so that launchbox.exe is in the launchbox folder? Plus a lot of the games have no cover art (see below) - is this expected behaviour? Just checking I've done it right
  5. And all is well with the world!
  6. Or perhaps not....! So what is the best way to import a full MAME set and all the extra artwork into LB at the moment?
  7. I just happened to be browsing the games collection of another user (@elitemanhood, as it happens) and can see the list of platforms in the menu bar on the left. The number of items per platform is not shown however. It would be great if the number of items per platform was shown, so we can see how many games the user has per platform. Can this be implemented? Thanks!
  8. 12 days of PD starts today The vol.1 torrent is not FL yet - do we know when it will become FL?
  9. I take it that these links also work to locations on a network drive (all my space-intensive material is on a NAS on my local home network, connected via ethernet).
  10. Wow, invaluable advice, many thanks!!
  11. That sounds ideal Wintersdark! Any further hints on how to do that?
  12. Oh dear! So it's not very easy as harryoke and I were hoping! Would it be possible exo to have LB on the external drive too? And then have the games inside that LB folder? Was really hoping to have LB local (along with all the media), with the games on the NAS (like to for the rest of my 10TB collection).
  13. Can you confirm exo? And if we can do this, does it change your instructions at all?
  14. Surely it’s possible to have LB on the local drive and the ROMs elsewhere with more storage?
  15. But can’t you just point the torrent at that folder on a network drive? Why does it all have to be copied to a local drive? My laptop only has about 50GB free space.
  16. Erm....do we have to copy the entire 220GB exodos folder to the LB install folder on our local machine? There’s no way I have that much free space. All my games and ROMs are stored on a NAS. Surely this step isn’t necessary? Exo?
  17. So just to check - if we point the torrent at our existing exodos folder as per the instructions, then when we import into LB doesn’t it import the whole lot, including the old V2?
  18. Thanks Retro808 - so how do you know if you have all the ROMs for a system?
  19. I'm looking to set up multiple systems within Launchbox, include MAME, computers and consoles. The thing that is confusing me a little at the moment is the ROM management side of things. Do you need a separate ROM manager (e.g. such as RomCenter) when you have Launchbox? Does Launchbox "audit" the ROMs in any way (and by that I mean check that they are intact etc).
  20. While we're waiting, it would be an opportune time to mention MEAGRE again - the original frontend for the eXoDOS collection. I'm glad that the collection is moving to a more modern, flexible and active platform, though MEAGRE was quite well suited for this particular use. It is able to show a number of images simultaneously when selecting a game, such as front box art, rear box art, title screen, game screenshot, CD/disk art etc, as well as game information at the bottom of the screen. This is a great way to delve into the game and be immersed in all the available media for maximum retro effect. I don't know if Launchbox can replicate this kind of view - I suppose it would have to be in BigBox and them with a custom theme. I had asked a question elsewhere on these forums regarding viewing all this good art/media in the game details pane within Launchbox (not BigBox). I have not yet had any replies to that question; I wonder if someone here could humour me and post a reply.
  21. Wow, in the language of all fine chocolate connoisseurs the world over, monsieur you are spoiling us! Feel free to press that FL button on the existing torrent too, help get those seeds going....
  22. Oh boy, long time to wait!
  23. Does anyone happen to know when the 12 days of PD FL begins?
  24. eXo - I see you have a "Complete SCUMMVM 2.0.0 collection" on PD. Are the games contained within all in the eXoDOS collection?
  25. Great news! Hope your back gets better soon exo. Can't download the torrent - something do with my ratio. I had thought PD didn't fuss about ratio for some reason Edit: I have the following message on the PD page: "The tracker is unable to contact your client on the IP address and port you are reporting, which means other clients cannot initiate a connection to you either". Funny thing is, I am currently downloading from PD, and others are uploading from me also (torrent client is running on NAS which is conneted to router which is connected to modem) - though my SR (ratio) on PD shows "---". Any help appreciated!
