  1. I know I'm coming in very late on this. I got the Apple IIe working by following this whole thread (and some luck). I'm able to get Apple IIgs working in mame, but can't seem to get it to work on Retroarch using the same Apple II setup. Am I missing something? EDIT: Okay...I got this to work. I launched RetroArch in verbose mode to follow what the issue was. I hadn't named my folder correctly. Now...my problem is setting up the controls on the IIgs. Any hints?
  2. I was able to fix the issue by looking at the .slangp file I wanted to use and verifying the directory structure at the top.
  3. I'm in the same boat. I'm using the most recent Mega Bezel, but this pack is not working.
  4. All...I realize this is a pretty old thread, but using this method, I can get the games to launch and they go full screen, but then I have the command prompt sitting on top of the emulator. I have to click on the emulator and that makes the command prompt go behind the emu. I can then play, but then as described above, I end hitting the pause screen to exit the emu.
  5. Here is the only way I've figured out how to close the game. I hit the Launchbox key for PAUSE screen and then select EXIT GAME. There has to be a better way though
  6. I'd like to throw my name in the hat voting for this kind of feature.
  7. This one has me stumped. I traced logs and edited xml files to no avail. The thing is that it gets some of the game names right (and thus presents the logo on my fade screen). Even when the log shows it didn't find a name, if I change from image (clear logo) to text, it does show the correct game name. I may have to go digging at the rocketlauncher site.
  8. Hello guys/gals. I've been using Rocketlauncher from launchbox for fade screens, bezels, etc. The issue I'm having is that for fade screens, Rocketlauncher is not pulling the Clear Logo. I've traced the log on rocketlauncher and there is this line which makes me think the platform xml is missing a tag (or Rocketlauncher is expecting a different tag). The error is below. BuildDatabaseTable - Ended - no "Game Name" found. Assigning "2020 Super Baseball (USA)" to the label "Name" I'm fairly certain it relies on pulling this name to match the clear logo. When I look at an older Hyperspin xml file, there is a "game name" tag. Any idea what I might be doing wrong? EDIT: I used the troubleshooting log on Rocketlauncher to find the issue. Most of my files has a region appended to the end in parenthesis (USA). Apparently when parsing the name, Rocketlauncher did not like this and couldn't find the files that Launchbox had placed in the Clear Logo folder. I resolved the issue by unpacking all of my zip files, using Bulk Renamer (great tool), and rezipping the files. All works as expected now.
  9. Won't be able to test for a few days, but trust you got it done. Thanks a lot @Jason Carr. You and the team continue to impress.
  10. Yes...I just thought I wouldn't give the username.
  11. @Jason Carr Here is my folder. Thanks for taking a look. I only removed my emumovies username/password. Data.7z
  12. I'm bumping this as it was an edit at the end of a longer post. When I look at the playlists in Launchbox, they are near perfect. However, when I look at my playlists in BigBox, I have multiple duplicates across all of the auto created playlists. Does anyone have an idea on how to fix this?
  13. @Jason Carr Further information on the issue. I deleted all of the playlists and my ARCADE/MAME platform. I imported MAME from the tools menu and this time selected the option to have the playlists created automatically at the time of import. I imported all CLONES. After it was done, I took a look at CAPCOM Classics and the playlist was rather complete. The only things that were missing were things that I didn't import (such as prototypes or quiz games). I then went in and consolidated ROMS so that I didn't see a bunch of duplicates. After this was done, I once again went in and looked at the playlists. This time I looked at all of them and they are all complete. I don't know if this information helps, but do want you to know that for me...this resolves my issue. As others have said, I'm so glad I was turned on to your front end by Simply Austin. You and the team here are a dedicated group and Big Box is simply awesome. I still use Rocketlauncher for Bezels and Fade Screens, but Big Box interfaces with Rocketlauncher beautifully. EDIT: The only issue I seem to have now is that when I go to BigBox, there are multiple duplicates in the playlist views. I do not see duplicates in Launchbox view.
  14. @Jason Carr Yes...I identified those games were missing via the edit function and then looking at the "games" tab. Where they used to say Mame on some and Arcade on others, due to my change (only having ARCADE as a platform) they only show as Arcade now. I found the "missing" games by simply going to my ARCADE platform and using the search function in Launchbox (top right). It seems the games are being picked up by the initial import of the ARCADE platform, but not the automatically created playlists.
  15. @Jason Carr I'm bringing up the topic of the automatic playlist creation again as I've had some time to make some changes and further try to understand the issue. I deleted all of the playlists and then deleted my MAME platform. I imported MAME ROMS, but this time named the platform ARCADE. In addition, I did not apply any of the MAME import filters. I'm using a full rom set 0.183 and when finished importing I had 10,516 games in the ARCADE platform. I then automatically created Arcade/Mame playlists from the Tools menu. At this point I hadn't consolidated ROMS. When finished I checked the CAPCOM Classics playlist and the following games were missing (I understand when the games are missing related to being a different region or bootleg, etc.). Avengers, Block Block, Captain Commando, Carrier Airwing, Commando, Final Fight, Forgotten Worlds, Ghosts n Goblins, Knights of the Round, Side Arms, Space Invasion, Street Figher, Street Fighter 2: Championship Edition, Street Fighter 2: World Warrior, The King of Dragons, The Punisher, Speed Rumbler, Three Wonders, Top Secret, Warriors of Fate, and Willow. I then manually searched my ARCADE platform for these games. I found all of them and manually added except for Avengers and Commando; which were not found. I'm hopeful this is helpful in tracking down what may be causing some games to come up missing.
  16. Ironically...I also edited the playlist xml with notepad++ with the same results.
  17. Great update Jason. Thank you. I notice that some of my auto-generated playlists are empty or missing games. So I looked at the XML file to see what the ROM name is and looked for it in my MAME folder. The ROM is there. The next thing I did was go to the playlist and click "edit." You've included a tab that says "Games." When I look at that list, I think I understand why some games are missing. My platform is named "MAME." I did this for convenience with Rocket Launcher. The games that I'm missing are all in platform "ARCADE." I had thought using MAME or ARCADE didn't matter. Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?
  18. I don't know what I've done different, but I've created a few playlists using auto populate again. I have the box checked to show up as a platform. A system is created in Rocketlauncher, but now the system name of "MAME" is being sent to Rocketlauncher (confirmed via Rlauncher log), meaning no issues. What I may have done originally was not limit the platform to "mame" when creating the playlist. Obviously, I have my ARCADE platform named MAME. So...I'm waiting for someone to create the All Killer No Filler playlist :-)
  19. I actually renamed ARCADE to MAME for this very reason. The issue is if I add playlists as a platform. When I do that, they will automatically become a system in Rocketlauncher. At this point, Rocketlauncher looks for media in a folder named after the system. If I add simply as a playlist, this is a non issue. However, I would like the playlist to show up with the platforms in BigBox so that a user doesn't have to back out and hit "show playlists."
  20. Hello everyone. I haven't fully gone down the playlist path as I'm waiting for the automatic population of system specific lists, but I did use the feature to broadly auto populate a list for Midway and Bally and I've also used lightspeed mamelister to create the same kids of system lists. I notice that when I do this, these playlists show up in rocketlauncher. I use bezels, fade screens, and backgrounds via rocketlauncher. However, rocketlauncher is looking for that stuff in the mame media folder. How are you guys getting around this? Are you moving associated media files to a separate media directory in rocketlauncher to match the playlist name?
  21. I'm sort of in the same place. I would love to be able to sort alphabetically or to drag them up and down to whatever position I like.

    Bezel Help

I did a forum search and didn't find the answer to this question so I'm hoping one of the genius posters here can help me out. I'm using RocketLauncher to load most of my systems from Launchbox. Everything works quite well and I really only have one nagging issue. When I launch a game (let's say space invaders), the bezel does appear and I can cycle through the varying bezels available. However, the MAME .181 screen doesn't change size to match the bezel surrounding it. If you look at some of the bezels for space invaders, there are sections that should overlap the playing screen. However, on mine, the playing screen is just centered inside the black area of the bezel. As a second example, when I launch X-Men Children of the Atom, the bezel is on screen correctly, but the mame screen is slightly too large on the left and right and it cuts off portions of the artwork. I feel like I've tried every option imaginable within RocketLauncher and Mame...but no dice. see the examples below. You can see from this shot that the bezel is being drawn too big on the screen.
