  1. I did not really see you ask a specific question in all this so taking a stab at what I think you are asking. I think you are wanting to know if there is a way to download media in stages. What you can do is download a platform at a time. Choose a platform click on a game and hit CTRL+A to select all then go to >Tools>Download Metadata and media and follow the same prompts.

  2. I see you have checked the "Default Emulator" option in the CEMU emulator name set up. That check box will tell launchbox the games in the Wii U platform must use the default.

When you right click and edit Guacamelee in the emulation tab you do have it pointed to the CEMU 1.14.0 correct? It sounds like you do based on your description. I would double check just in case.

Also if you right click the game does it show options to launch with either of the 2 cemu setups you have? If it does and you choose the correct one from there does the same issue happen?

    Hi

If you are using an xinput joystick you can use x360ce to interface between the direct input emulator and the joystick.

    cheers B

You shouldn't need x360ce to work with Model 2 Emulator. It will recognize x-input devices as long as you have XInput=1 in the emulator.ini

Launch a game and go into the controls configuration. Double click the control you want to set and hit the corresponding button on your controller. In this image you can see I change up and down from my Xarcade keyboard map to my Xbox controller Joy 1 Up and Joy 1 Down.

@StubieD You are having issue mapping to the Aimtrack correct? Not a game controller or arcade controls?

  4. You can set the exit hook directly inside of Mame. Just launch Mame without a game (or launch a game and hit tab). If you are using the standard command line Mame just look for Configure Options and then General Inputs. In the "UI Cancel" option hit enter and then you can click the two buttons you want to use to exit Mame.

In order to help you are going to need to provide a little more info than that. Stuck how? What is exactly is happening or not happening?

I have a simple question: Is there a way to view the play history for launchbox/bigbox? I know that Bigbox has where you can select the last played games when in the platforms view, so is there some sort of text file or option in the software to see the play history?

When you say history are you looking for more than last played date? As in looking for other dates you have played? I do not think that is contained anywhere.

Text wise the xaml files for each platform in the data folder houses the last played date.

The PrioritizedPathSelector control will pull only from the folder specified by the FolderPath property, and no other folders. So I'm guessing that's what you're running into?

Thanks Jason. That is what I figured it was. But last night I was testing a theme and got to wondering if it maybe pulled from the other folder as well.

  8. @Jason Carr Does the prioritization work correctly for you? I am not seeing it play any video if I do not have a default video or any other related video in my theme's video folder. I just get a black screen. Or am I just misunderstanding how it should work? Does it pull only from the theme's folder or is Priorities 1-3 supposed to look in the platform and game specific folders as well?

  9. You would have to edit the default theme. You have to make a copy though and edit the copy as LB and BB will not allow you to alter default themes.

You can copy the default theme folder and rename it what you want. Then using something like Notepad++ edit the CD based xamls look for a line of code referring to Disc Rotate. The second line that contains a "From" and "To" is the disc revolutions related to 360 and the "Duration" is how slow or fast it takes to spin that set number. You can alter those to try and get the speed you want. If you set the "To" to something like 2160 and duration to "00:00:12.000" it would spin the disc 2160 degrees in 12 seconds.

In Launchbox (not bigbox) is there any way to slow down the disc spinning animation when a game loads. Only it spins so fast you can't see whats on the picture .

I assume you are using a startup screen and that is where you are talking about. If this is correct, which startup theme are you using?

  11. So just to be clear. The games run fine if you launch them in Retroarch directly, correct?

If so that usually means something in LB is disconnected. From your post things appear ok, but it is always best if we can see pics which is my normal response for cases like this...

    1. Share a pic of Launchbox showing your platform names as they appear.

    2. Right Click a game and choose edit. In the game's edit screen share a pic of the Launcher Tab and the Emulation Tab.

    3. Whatever emulator you are using for the platform and game go to >Tools>Manage Emulators and choose to edit that emulator. In the edit screen share a pic of the Emulator Details and the Associated Platforms Tab.

  12. I see is it looks like you do not have any cores downloaded for Retroarch. The last image that blue text stating "Missing Core".

Have you launched the games directly in Retroarch too see if they work? If not, you have to setup Retroarch first and download the correct cores for each platform that you will run in Retroarch.

We always recommend setting the emulator up first and testing games in the emulator before you add them to Launchbox.

  13. Plenty of good questions to answer in prior posts so we can help. If you want to share some pics...Pick one platform you imported games and share the following images.

    1. Right Click a game and choose edit. In the games edit screen share a pic of the Launcher Tab and the Emulation Tab.

    2. Whatever emulator you are using for the platform and game go to >Tools>Manage Emulators and choose to edit that emulator. In the edit screen share a pic of the Emulator Details and the Associated Platforms Tab.

It's an older laptop sure, but it could run games like Skyrim and similar games that came out around the same time at near max settings at native resolution. Not sure why scrolling some PNGs would be so demanding?

You say that Big Box has this feature, but you don't mention how to use it? I did notice that in keyboard mapping there was "Page up" and Page down" but this doesn't seem to do what I was asking. It just skips a chunk of games, not jump from A >B etc. If this alphabet feature doest exist, what is it called? Does an onscreen "letter" popup similar to hyperspin or?

    Thanks

Depending on the theme's view you are in (vertical wheel versus horizontal wheel) you will either move left or right (vertical wheel), up or down (horizontal wheel). In this image when I pushed left it popped up the letter grid on the bottom. I can select the letter to jump to.

I hope to find a way to know then loading is finished to say "loading complete" as well.

Currently this is not possible. I was having issues with audio from video for a startup theme I am making leaking into the emulator for a couple seconds. Jason mentioned this is a problem with exclusive fullscreen and emulators. The startups cannot tell exactly when the emulator takes over. RocketLauncher, if I remember correctly, uses some odd hacks to achieve what it does and I think Jason did not want to hack & slash startups just to get them to work. Do not quote me on that, but I believe that was the gist of it.

Is it possible to show Marquee art on a second monitor when playing a game?  (As opposed to just showing the Marquee when scrolling through the launchbox gui)

    In Launchbox, no.

However, in BigBox, yes. There is a setting in BigBox to set your main monitor and your marquee monitor.
