I did an import of my Neo Geo games and everything imported but when it comes to the art and video files only some got filled.  I have all the art and video files locally but they are not the same as the names that downloaded.  For example, the art is done as jpg wile my local art is png.  The video files are the same format but the names are different.  The local ones match the ROM files while the scraped ones have the full name.

Launchbox will read the images files named as the rom name is. Most of my images for Neo Geo are in the mame rom name format. Also it does not matter if the file is jpg or png they both will work.

Are there any settings in RA itself that have an impact on launching externally?

It is possible. Though I am not to skilled in the area of RA settings to troubleshoot what might be the cause if a setting in RA could cause issues. Hopefully one of our more seasoned and RA minded members or mods will chime in.

I already did that step. I upgraded my account as instructed by the site, but I didn't c anywhere where I could submit my request. What I see on the site that I'm being redirected is to begin to code, I don't know how to code. lol.  Thanks for replying.

The Request a Feature option should lead you to the Launchbox bitbucket site. You would need to register first. After you register either search for Launchbox or click on the Request a Feature again and it should take you straight to the image below. In the upper right hand corner click "Create Issue". Not sure what you are seeing about coding. The image below is what I see.

Once you can create a request I would link it in your other post. The more that vote for it the more Jason will see it is wanted by the community.

I know. How can I Submit a request for this feature? I clicked on help and support and upgraded my account there but I still don't know how to submit a request. I hope my request is simple and I'm sure many other users need a feature like this. Thanks for all your support, and I hope to hear from anyone who has an interest in this feature or that can kindly work on it. Thanks again.

The feature request option is under Help & Support.

  5. OK, and now that you removed standalone mame did you change the games to use Retroarch?

In your first posted pics when you showed and edit screen for Knights of the Round you have that game using Mame. Did you change the games to Retroarch? Even though you have it set as default in the emulator settings you still need to change the emulator for the game since you had it set to Mame.

Right click a game and go to the emulation tab and make sure it is set to Retroarch then launch that same game and test if it works.

  6. You have 2 Arcade platforms "Arcade" and "Arcade 2". What platform is the games actually imported under in Launchbox. The Associate Platform name must match exactly the name of the platform you imported the games into Launchbox under. I see you have "default emulator" checked for Arcade so I just want to make sure.

Also when you run the game directly in Retroarch what core is it actually working with?

  7. If it is running in RA directly and not in Launchbox you definitely have something set wrong inside Launchbox. Same with Mame which I believe you said the rom works directly in Mame. It is more than likely a setting to add/fix in Launchbox. The fact it is running directly in the emulators means we can eliminate that piece.

Please post pics of the Associated platforms tab of both Retroarch and Mame. Make sure you are scrolling down to show the Arcade listing in the associated tab.

  8. @Tatts4Life Tested the same version of Dolphin with your settings on multiple games and no issue closing from BigBox fo reference here are some specs and settings.

Startup and Shutdown are set to 4 seconds (set from the startup option in Launchbox/Tools). In the edit the emulator screen for Dolphin the Startup I have the delay set to 5 seconds playing around with anything lower does not affect the shutdown from BigBox it only makes the transition not as seamless.

    Tested on 2 pcs.

    1: Core i7-7700k, GTX1080, Win 1809 (Beta Launchbox)

    2: Core i5-8400, GTX1060 Win 1803 (standard Launchbox)

If you have not tried turning off the startup/shutdown theme give it a try. Make sure you do it in BigBox. Some forget LB and BB have settings in each. Curious to see if that fixes it or not.

hmm, I tried that, and it looks like you tried to upload a screenshot but the link is broken, cant view it.  Also, is there a way to hide the mouse cursor in game?

I know you said you have the code. Is there any chance you tried 2 different codes on the same machine? I had an issue before and it turned out trying two codes on the same machine was the problem. Zen Studios had me remove everything and reinstall then use the original code. It worked, maybe something went corrupt. That was well over a year ago though. So with newer versions of PBFX that may not be an issue.

I'm guessing it's somehow a combination of the following:

    • Dolphin settings
    • Drivers
    • LaunchBox startup/shutdown screen settings

It would be good to compare them all to see what might be causing it. :)

That's what I was thinking since I have no issue in any of the past 2 versions of BigBox/LB and multiple versions of Dolphin.

@Tatts4Life no worries, when you get a chance post the settings. Also what is your system specs?

Lordmonkus or anyone else here. How do I rollback and keep all my current settings? I'm having an issue with Wii and I want to check if a previous version works.

In your Launchbox\Updates folder you should see prior versions. You can install from there. It will not mess with your current settings. Just be mindful how far you go back since they may not support some newer features. But your settings otherwise should be fine.

    What issues are you having?

  12. Yes, you could change that to read "{Binding Path=ActiveGame.Publisher}" then it would simply only return data from the Publisher field. You would likely need to do that for each view that you would use in the theme. This is based solely on my limited knowledge of coding messing around with startup themes.

I get it, you guys don't care about your customers. Enough said, I'm moving on to a more stable product with a more mature community.

    Thanks again and good luck!
    Cheers

Sorry you feel that way. Honestly I do not get it. This forum is full of members, mods, and the developer all working together. Not sure why you think the program should do everything for you, even fix user created additions. For a single person developing you are asking a lot. It is not unusual for a developer to update their software and have third party apps break. Seen it plenty of times with Microsoft, Android, iOS, and yes even Raspberry Pi get an update and the user created themes had to be fixed by the creator. You came and advised something was not working. You were given advice on a simple step to fix. That seems pretty helpful and like people cared.

Good luck to you as well and Cheers.
