  1. That would be awesome jophran! I found out what you said the hard way and had to re-download a bunch of media. Your script would help a lot.
  2. I was able to do this by right clicking the platform and editing the sort name to the year when the console was released. Doesn’t seem to affect any folder naming or anything that would screw up your build.
  3. Very nice. I’m using it now. The platform scroll wheel is perfect for my full video setup. Would be nice if you could patch in the stock games menu views as well. Was hoping to use coverflow with details for this theme.
  4. That's what I needed. Forgot about this feature. You kick ass dude. Thanks!
  5. What would the syntax be if I wanted to use a controller button combo to exit an emulator? I'd like to use a 2 buttons combo to exit Dolphin. And if you know off the top of your head, where an easy place to find what name a button registers on the system. So if I press "button1" and the system recognizes the press as "joy0but5" or whatever, where can that recognized callout be found?
  6. Yep only when the optimization is turned off do I get the dips. The F3 method will work for my laptop. But I am also building a closed system arcade cab and retro console (NUC Skull Canyon) where F3 isn't a viable option. Luckily those two systems should be able to walk all over Dreamcast.
  7. This worked for me. However, when I tried it on a laptop where Dreamcast is about the highest system I can get to run smooth there was a substantial dip in performance. i5-7200U 2.5GHz, integrated graphics, 8 GB RAM.
  8. You've made a good choice with BigBox then! A lot of cabinet builders skimp on doing their research when it comes to frontends and default to the sugar rush nightmare that is Hyperspin. The key for a great cab is making it easy to use for someone who isn't you. Good luck on your build!
  9. Refresh. Gets me every time too!
  10. For reference I'm doing a custom arcade build myself with a Craigslist HP 6300 i5 3.7gHz, 4gb RAM, and a piece of crap $45 video card just for HDMI output. I can do any console up to Dreamcast before I start getting frame dips. Perhaps start there and work backwards if you need to. You'd be surprised what a low spec machine can do. If you're building a cab, I highly recommend installing an SSD on your system to speed up boot times. It sucks having to wait for the damn thing to load up while showing your friends this amazing thing you've been working on for months!
  11. Looks like it may be the other way around. Launchbox = .jpg, Emumovies = .png. Think this might be the case as I deleted all my .jpg files and quite a few box art files got removed even though the games had Launchbox IDs assigned to them. That is unless Launchbox IDs have nothing to do with artwork being available on the Launchbox database. Not exactly sure how that works.
  12. I figured as much. Tried Gamecube and Dreamcast emulation. They were not playable. My build was never intended to run these kinds of systems but it sure is addicting to see how far you can push your build!
  13. I'm going through my LaunchBox images and videos and cleaning out any unwanted and duplicate media. I noticed that all the of my images have an identical .png and .jpg version. With over 10,000 games on my build, there could be a lot of storage freed up if duplicate files weren't needed. Are the .jpg and .png files used for separate purposes in LaunchBox and/or BigBox or can I trim out one of those file formats to free up space? Thanks!
  14. Nice. Will check it out. I also ran into your video on the Optiplex 3010. My new build is using a Compaq Pro 6300 Microtower with almost identical specs and a MSI GT 710 2GB DDR3. So far I've got up to the PSX up and running. Do you think that setup can make it to 60fps on Gamecube or am I about close to my limits hardware wise?
  15. Hi All, Today I realized ETA Prime has his own Youtube channel and holy crap my mind is blown. I made a Mortal Kombat II Mame cabinet about 7 years ago using an old PC and Maximus Arcade. Today I'm building a wall mounted arcade from scratch using Big Box but still using an old, heavy PC. It works great but after the revelation that single board computers with a little modification can rival and even surpass an old Craigslist computer, my next build has to be with a SBC. Does anyone out there know of good options for SBC that can run Big Box? I'd like something that can run up to the N64/PSX generation consoles at full speed.
  16. I still had the cursor hang around for about a second after launching a game. Changed the sleep value to 500 and it erased any trace of the cursor. This was a life saver. Thanks!
  17. I stuck to Retroarch for simplicity sake and tried the parallel_64 core. Stuttering and performance issues have disappeared. Haven't dived into the emulator functions too much but on the surface the problem has gone away for now.
  18. Is there perhaps another N64 emulators you'd recommend that I could try? I'm not stuck on Mupen64 Plus as that's just what was used in the tutorial example.
  19. I'm having an issue with using the Mupen 64 Plus core for Retroarch when launching through Big Box. Normally if I launch an N64 game through the Launch Box desktop app my N64 collection runs flawless and smooth. However, when I launch it through Big Box it's a choppy, laggy mess. Anyone know what might be causing this? I've played with core settings to my wits end and haven't found anything that works. The simply answer would be just launch out of Launch Box but this system is going into a custom arcade which will have no mouse and keyboard input once finished and boots Big Box. Thanks!
  20. It was an issue where I had two video folders in Launch Box. I, somehow, had a "Video" folder and a "Videos" folder. Pointed everything to the same folder and it worked. Not sure why my videos that worked/didn't work depending on reboot. Thanks!
  21. I've run into an issue where my game videos for certain platforms (mostly Nintendo) just won't play as a background video anymore. I had installed some themes from the forums, they didn't work well (I have a weird 16:10 video poker display) and so I went back to the default theme. Now certain systems won't play game videos. Platform theme videos work and other system games and mame games work. All the files are in the right spots. The folder paths are correct. I've messed with every setting and nothing works. Please help me, I am going insane with this! Update: I rebooted my system and everything worked. Another reboot, Gameboy doesn't load game videos!
