The stand alone version does not have this if you want to use it but lose out on the Retroarch features. Every Saturn game I start needs the Language/Time set no matter how many times I start the same game
Lordmonkus
That's strange, it only does this for me the first time I load a game and then doesn't do that after.

Ya, I don't understand it either. For some reason the bios settings isn't saving.
Drybonz
Is something set to read only? or maybe in the program files folder where it can't overwrite? Edited January 20, 2017 by Drybonz
Zombeaver
Just as an FYI, Mednafen (standalone) was updated to 0.9.41 on 1/21/17. Changes: Renamed settings "*.pixshader" to "*.shader". Added simple color TV CRT-approximating OpenGL shader, "goat". PSX: Added "psx.input.analog_mode_ct.compare" setting to control the combination of buttons used when the functionality controlled by the "psx.input.analog_mode_ct" setting is enabled. SMS: Added settings "sms.slstart", "sms.slend", "sms.slstartp", and "sms.slendp". SNES: Added setting "snes.h_blend", default value of "0", that when set to "1" will enable a horizontal blend/blur filter. SS: Added setting "ss.correct_aspect", default value of "1", to allow the user to disable aspect ratio correction(not recommended, but whatever~). SS: Added setting "ss.h_overscan", default value of "1", to allow the user to show less of the screen on the left and right sides by setting it to "0". SS: Added setting "ss.h_blend", default value of "0", that when set to "1" will enable a horizontal blend/blur filter(with a more noticeable effect on the Saturn video modes with a higher horizontal resolution). SS: Fixed the low volume problem in "Daytona USA". SS: Fixed missing/corrupted graphics of battle scenes in "Grandia". WonderSwan: Minor sound and graphics emulation accuracy improvements, from patches and suggestions provided by trap15.
Lordmonkus
Have you tried it to check out the shader ?
Zombeaver
I haven't yet - I literally just saw it had been updated. Bout to fiddle around with it now
Lordmonkus
Cool, let me know how it is cause if it is good enough I would consider using it over RA.
Zombeaver
It's pretty basic. It's not really any kind of competition with RA's CRT shaders. There are other things you can add on top like scanlines of course, but this is with just " -ss.shader goat " enabled:
Lordmonkus
Yeah definitely not even close to a Retroarch shader.
DeletedUser#3940
For some odd reason I've gotten only a few games to work. I do have required files for all regions. Mednefen displays "failed to load content" while Yabuse opens perfectly. Unless I can have some games launch with mednefen and some yabuse, I don't have a solution,
Lordmonkus
If some games are working and others aren't that means the ones the don't work are bad images. You can either replace the images with good working ones that Mednafen likes or you can change the emulator for the games that only work with Yabause. I assume the Yabause you are using is the stand alone so all you need to do is setup Yabause in Launchbox and for each game you want to use that emulator right click and edit, then change the emulator to Yabause. Lordmonkus
That's weird that you having troubles with Darkwater rips, those have been perfect for me.
zorkiii
I am getting most everything to run just fine with mednafen, but am seeing some graphic issues with certain games. I attached a screenshot of Fighters Megamix here, there seems to be an interlacing issue or something as you can see with the guy on the right, the long horizontal stretched pixel thing going on. I am wondering if this is something I can control with different settings at all?
Lordmonkus
I'm fairly certain that is one of the few games that still has issues, I have the same issue on my setup. You may want to try a de-interlacing shader or something but I don't think it will work.
Zombeaver
There are several SS and PSX games that are in interlaced 480i format (which causes that artifacting), Megamix is one of them. It's most common in fighting games. I made a custom deintetlacing shader preset that you may want to try out. It's linked at the bottom of the thread below. It needs to go in the base shaders folder.

Zombeaver
No problem! It'll work for both Saturn and Playstation games. You can save per-game overrides in Retroarch so that it'll only be used on the games you want. It's fairly obvious when it's needed, but for reference I'm using it on the following games: Saturn: Fighters Megamix Fighting Vipers Frankenstein: Through The Eyes Of The Monster Last Bronx Last Gladiators Digital Pinball Necronomicon Touryuu Densetsu Elan Doree Virtua Fighter 2Playstation: All the titles that are marked in orange on my override audit sheet.

Lordmonkus
Please do not blatantly advertise your youtube channel and video with download link containing bios. If you want to do tutorial videos that is fine.
