How do you manage Sega CD and Sega 32x games?

Ok, so I have a doubt. I know I can separate between Sega 32x, Sega CD and Sega CD 32x. However, @reignstumble's console artwork pack doesn't include a Sega CD 32x, and also, the amount of games on that combo platform is extremely reduced. So, considering I have both a Sega 32x and Sega CD, where do you consider I should place the Sega CD 32x games? I'm inclined toward Sega CD due to the disk format, but I'd like some opinions.

I would be inclined to put them with the Mega CD games as opposed to the 32X games.

If you put them in the CD category and you use RA with the GensGXP core for CD games the 5 CD32X games will have to have a custom config or they won't launch as only PicoDrive core will work for them.

Good to know DOS76! Since it's just for 5, 6 games, it won't (hopefully) be too much of a hassle besides adding arguments to the emulation.

I guess you could manually edit those 5 games to have Picodrive as the emulator for them.

@Charco I meant the PicoDrive core in RA you could make a 2nd instance of RA using the same exe but configure the new one to use PicoDrive core for Sega CD instead.

@creamdonut I think if you put in -L "cores\Picodrive_libretro.dll" in the command line for each game it will work.

@DOS76, I'll try that once I get home. I've been reading about 32X emulation in the meanwhile, and it seems only Kega Fusion manages a decent enough emulation, as per what I'm reading. I have a rather beefy pc, so I'm going to try with PicoDrive and see how it goes.

I have the games working in PD but haven't really played to much they all seem to load up without any issues though. I haven't used Kega for awhile now.

Like others have said, I keep them with the regular Sega CD games. Makes sense to have all the disk images together.

If you put a -L command on a game and there is one in the associated platforms tab for RA as well, it might crash. The best bet is to keep it as it's own platform and just scrape as Sega CD.

Doesn't Sega CD32X have it own section on the DB with it own covers so woldn't scapping as Sega CD get you the incorrect art work anyway?

Does it? I just checked, and yep, it does. It needs to be outfitted with media and metadata (something that a lot of systems will be going through when Alex removes, combines and adds a ton of stuff) but for sure it's a valid, oddly valid, platform and we should outfit that section. It doesn't have too many games, so I'm sure it can get completed fairly fast.

Supposedly there are 6 games but the one remains to be dumped.so you will only have 5 in your collection.
