fromlostdays
Need more info. What are the file extensions of your roms? Are they zipped? What emulators are you trying to use? Do the roms work in the emulator outside of launchbox?Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using Tapatalk

SentaiBrad
Just replace the old MAME rom set that I used in this tutorial with the one you have, or a new .182 non-merged rom set. The Lightspeed stuff is also outdated now unfortunately. Also, you can add any platform or emulator you want, LaunchBox doesn't care. However, if you choose a non-default platform name, make sure to set the scrape as, so that metadata and media can be downloaded from the LaunchBox Games Database and EmuMovies. ResidentEvul13
i used arcade for my mame roms yet none of then loaded or worked at all...
SentaiBrad
Selecting the platform isn't the only thing that makes them work. Making sure you have all the mame files, your mame version matches your rom set, running through the MAME Importer, and making sure to set your emulator properly. The tutorials will help. ResidentEvul13
a genius made stupid... never had this much trouble in my life since ive been dealing with roms and emus.. nothing works so unless someone has a video showing the correct way to set up and use lb to run snes, nes, and mame games those 3 will never be added to my inventory.. coding and designing emus/roms for the original microsoft xbox over the course of 16 years was challenging but there was nothing i couldn't get to work ever... ResidentEvul13
nice tut but didn't help me with snes at all i wonder if its cause i went crazy when first running retroarch and updated and downloaded every core for snes
Lordmonkus
My first guess is you have a setting messed up in Launchbox itself. If you could look at this thread and post the details asked for along with screenshots of your settings it would help us a lot in helping to troubleshoot.
ResidentEvul13
after watching your tut on how to set up cemu with lb i think i found every single mistake i was making will test it then post back
Lordmonkus
Ok, the most common problems are the check boxes in the "Emulator Details" tab and the "Associated Platoforms" tab having unmatched platform names or bad command line parmeters (especially with Retroarch). Those are always my first places to check when there is a problem with a game or emulator if the emulator itself is working fine.
ResidentEvul13
COULD really kick myself in the arse... settings was the main issue the snes roms i did test load up perfectly... I see now my main issue was thinking tha having #Retroarch set as main emu would run any and everything thing.. It doesn't as awesome as it is... I fixed all my snes stuff then added xsnesx emu and .exe file etc and viola! now I am sure I can get anything to work long as i make damn sure the settings are correct. new issue im a 17inch alienware laptop but idk if that is my issue though it always cut off things i can see on larger monitors.. how the hell do i get my bb to look and run like this one? cause i have correctly added that theme yet mine doesn't do any of those insane effects and video preview etc... Lordmonkus
Yeah, Retroarch requires extra command lines for each core and which core you use will change the command line. As for the theme you will need to enable that theme in the Options > View settings in BigBox mode.
ResidentEvul13
theme already enabled
DOS76
You have to switch through the views to find the specific one you are looking for to match the video you can map a button to switch views in the controller keyboard options and then cycle through them until you find what you are looking for.
ResidentEvul13
sorry idk what you just tried to say bud maybe it cause i am on 17 inch laptop and i can't see the full screen of bigbox... anyways is there a video that shows exactly how to set up platform theme videos, game videos and bigbox theme? so mine looks like the one in the video...? imdavid555
Maybe this will help you. It shows you how to download Platform themes. Game videos are located in the launchbox folder > "Choose you System" . Make sure they are named the same as your rom. The video also shows how to change your theme.
