starplayer Posted July 14, 2019 Posted July 14, 2019 Hi. I have many Windows games in my hdd that are not installed (from got, and isos). I don't want to install them, but I'd like them to be visible in launchbox, from where I would launch the installation file if I wanted to play it. Each game is in a separate folder. Is there any way to do this without spending the entire summer adding individual shortcuts? Quote

The only way would be to import the setup files and rename them all, then if you did install one you would then have to edit that game in Launchbox to launch the shortcut instead of the setup file. starplayer Posted July 14, 2019 Author Posted July 14, 2019 (edited) That's a real bummer. I'll have to see if I can find the time to write a plug-in. Edited July 14, 2019 by starplayer Quote
Jason Carr Posted July 14, 2019 Posted July 14, 2019 There is an item on the poll to add a GOG API importer, which is what you would need for GOG. There is also a plugin available for this already. You can also already import uninstalled Steam games using the Steam importer. Quote
starplayer Posted July 15, 2019 Author Posted July 15, 2019 Ok thank you. I will look into that! Quote
UncleDaddySwiss Posted October 26, 2019 Posted October 26, 2019 Hi, i was wondering if there would be/ could be an api importer for uplay and origin. There are several games in both those companies that i have but don't want to install every one of them, nor do i have space for all of them, but i would like to show them in launchbox. Quote

Unfortunately I didn't get a lot of positive feedback on those when we were recently coming up with poll items for the last poll, so they unfortunately didn't make the list (seems it just wasn't a priority for people). We will probably get something for that in eventually, but as for right now, I'm not sure when it will happen. Quote

Yeah I would find this feature also very useful, apart from the part where you would map setup.exe as an executable in LB instead of actual game… because now the only way i found to import game's exe is via drag and drop, and then u choose none of the above etc.... Stehle77 Posted November 30, 2021 Posted November 30, 2021 Any Updates on this topic? Meaning importing Setup Files from ISOs etc.? Or any workaround? Quote
C-Beats Posted December 1, 2021 Posted December 1, 2021 Right now the best way to do this is still to simply drag/drop import the setup file. You can also just manually add a game to your library and point it to the correct path as well. There is no import process designed to import setup files though. Quote
OinkSauce Posted Saturday at 04:41 PM Posted Saturday at 04:41 PM Just checking in on this feature. Is this something that is possible now, or on the horizon? Quote
AstroBob Posted Monday at 03:57 AM Posted Monday at 03:57 AM One thing that might help here, is that for a non-emulated game under that game's metadata and Launching section, there is both an Application Path & Configuration Application Path field. You could technically point the Configuration Application Path to the installer, and assuming you install the application to the same location each time, populate the Application Path to the install .exe. There, when you right-click on a game you'll have both Launch which loads the .exe (if installed), and configured which loads the installer. I realise this isn't perfect since sometimes installers & uninstalls are separate .exe's, so it may not work for both. Just wanted to throw that out there incase it was useful. Cheers, Quote
