I wonder if anyone else have encountered this? So I can't reliably recreate it, it just happens from time to time. It's happened a few times while I do live streaming and I notice everything slowing down, Retroarch for example slows to a crawl and crashes I presume due to RAM issues. When I pop up my task manager I see LB is taking up around 16-20gb of RAM all of a sudden and I'm forced to kill it in the manager as its unresponsive. Any ideas? We test LaunchBox all the time for RAM spikes like that but have never noticed anything like that. Would be nice to know more of your settings and what exactly you do in an entire session to better understand your scenario, although something like that is long term, outside of the scope of this thread, kind of investigation. If you can, send me a PM and we can take it from there and see if there's any patterns we can find. Since VLC was completely deprecated in 13.24 seems like it shouldn't be included in the install going forward. VLC is actually still used for music and hasn't been completely deprecated in LaunchBox. So, not yet. It works fine with Windows Media Player with K-lite installed. .mkv is also not shown as a valid video type on the video snap selection screen when selecting a video snap. You have to select "All Files." I hope this helps. Edit: Selecting Windows Media Player, OK, then going back and selecting ffmpeg fixes the problem, but the problem reoccurs if I select another mkv video snap. Sounds like you found yourself with a few separate things going on. The main one that can be easily added is the .mkv extension within that explorer window. I'll add that to the list to add in a future update. The image disappearing wouldn't have to do with a video player, but it's something else we are tracking and has been hard to pin down, but more work will go into it. It has something to do with 0 byte files being created in the cache when they shouldn't be due to some timing issues. Refreshing the cache (F5) for that game solves that issue for users when they see it. 3 hours ago, Eyebrows Cat said: Windows版β最新バージョンで発生 エミュレータ(NekoProject II fmgen / np2nt.exe 20260117バージョン)でフロッピーディスク複数枚組のソフトウェアをコマンドラインオプションを指定して複数のフロッピーディスクドライブにセットして起動する際、FDD1→DiskA/FDD2→DiskBとセットされるはずが、両方ともDiskAがセットされてしまいます。 I don't think I'm quite understanding, but for the parts that I do understand, I'm thinking you may want to open up a separate thread. Sounds like the emulator requires you to add which floppy disk you want to use from within the command line arguments, and if that's the case, and you have all the floppy disks combined into one game, you wouldn't be able to do this from LaunchBox's command line tools. Instead, you may need to create bat files for each disk. 19 hours ago, Fursphere said: Dear Launchbox, please stop enabling this setting. In fact, disabling it by default would be best. As you can see, this time it incorrectly assumed my 12-way rotary controller was a "game controller" and caused input issues in LB. (loss of mouse control, constant inputs, etc). Seriously, I've had to disable it more than a dozen times. It keeps turning itself back on. I haven't confirmed it yet, but it seems to re-enable itself anytime a controller is added to the system (even just turning on a bluetooth xbox controller and then opening LB seems to trigger it...) I'm not entirely sure what the default option here is, although if making a choice in the settings, and then having the option revert your choice, is happening, that's definitely a bug somewhere. We'll test and see if that's happening internally. Just know that it's entirely possible that if it doesn't happen internally, there may be something up with your settings file, or maybe your shutdown process where it saves your choices to the file. Could be something not saving the file right, but we'll take a look. 1 1 Quote

I'm actually at the point where I'm ready to write a looping AHK script (while LB is running) to just edit that config line anytime the file changes to ensure its off. BigBox isn't having the problem. Quote

This would be a separate issue we have been tracking, than the one the other guy was talking about. That error tends to happen on some computers that go into a hibernated/hybrid sleep mode. LaunchBox uses the GPU for things like the 3D models. When your computer goes to sleep, Windows can shut down and later restart parts of the graphics system. Sometimes when the PC wakes back up, .NET thinks the graphics data is still there when it is not, and that causes LaunchBox to crash with a misleading out of memory error. We tried to implement some hack fixes to get around .NET's shortcomings, but it's hard to run code while a computer is trying to go to sleep, or just as it's waking up. For users that are seeing this, and want to keep LaunchBox open while running that type of sleep, disabling 3D Models will solve it. In Big Box, it's a bit harder since more things use D3DImage that's not easily disabled (like the whole wheel). Quote

Funny you mention it, I just disabled sleep not too long ago after hearing how it can negatively affect newer Ryzen CPUs. So hopefully it won't happen again for me. skizzosjt Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago Can anyone actually download Steam Trailers?! I tested with full 13.25 release and it's worse than before, not a single game will have its trailer populate in the "Download Images/Media" window I rolled back to beta-3, and the problem persists. I haven't tried to download a video in several weeks now, so I'm not sure when it would have stopped working with older versions either. Where's the video? There should be a Steam Trailer selection I tried removing the existing videos thinking maybe some new feature introduced to not download if one existed already (not the case). @AstroBob what is going on here? Your comment this is fixed does not align with my experience. The only Steam specific bits I see on this window are, Steam Clear Logo, Steam Icon, Steam Poster, Steam Screenshot, none of which were giving me problems at any point in the past. For me only STEAM TRAILERS have been the continued issue since the fall, since October. Progress tracking improved regarding that "Done / Completed" values are not falling back to "Active / X", so that is working as intended now! Quote
Quote
