Love this theme, I'm actually combining it with Neon Deluxe Arcade, just wondering though is there anyway to run it in native 4k at all? As all artwork seems to be forced to 1080p regardless of my own resolution or artwork quality used.

The theme itself isn't hard coded to 1080p, it's actually hard coded to 16:9 ratio. However, all the banners are created using 1080p resolution.

Therefore, if you want the banners to be as sharp as possible, you would have to remake them in 4k by adjusting the resolution within the COMMUNITY theme creator and creating your own 4k banners.

image.thumb.png.2132eebae11b3ca4e14131d9aa7f5c3c.pngLooks like 4k would be 768x2160

Hey Faeran, thanks stacks for the response. That's rather curious/odd, as I did indeed remake all my artwork in a higher resolution, assuming that was the issue, yet to my surprise I can clearly see the artwork is being refitted to 1080p or at the very least a much lower resolution, originally I thought BIGBOX was the issue, that it was simply stretching a 1080p output to 2160p, but upon further investigation I noticed that not only were other themes looking 4k crisp, but BannerBox itself had evidence of running in 4k as well, you can see this by looking at the date and game count info at the bottom. I'm including an image to better illustrate exactly what I'm talking about. Really hope this can get sorted, as it kinda spoils an otherwise incredible looking theme.

Ah, right, so what you are looking at is specifically a property within the wheel. It may take a bit of trial and error, but within the COMMUNITY Theme creator, you'll need to raise the property called "Vertical Resolution" on every view you use.

Thanks again for responding, okay cool so how would I go about doing that? Would you be able/willing to point me in the direction of a good tutorial? Thanks again for your help thus far. ^^

Would there be any way for you to furnish us with a line of code to put in that would maybe add very slight corner markers on the banner that is the currently selected one?  since there is no variant when scrolling, it is sometimes difficult to see which banner you are on, and you have to wait until the transition comes in to realize that you are actually on the one that you were trying to get in the middle.

It's actually all in the COMMUNITY Theme creator, so no code necessary. Should be able to download the community theme files, load them into the COMMUNITY Theme creator and add the box you need. With a little trial and error you should be able to get what you want.

Oh, that's right!  I'll try to work on that then, thanks for the tip.

Did the launchbox update break this theme?  My games view is now just really big clear logos, and not the banners like it was before.

If it did it should be reported in the beta thread. Also, betas will break things, the whole point is to iron out the issues before a public release, so as with any software, update to beta at your own risk.

You will need to build your own game banners, and in some instances platform/system banners... the process is explained in the following video tutorial.

Loving the new Version! Those automatic game banners really look awesome!

is there a way to get automatic banners  with the clear logo for playlists/platforms as well? right now it just shows the logo out of proportion.

Awesome theme!

Is there any wall view for it?

Thanks @Nizer. The way this theme is built doesn't really lend itself well to a wall-type view. But never say never.

Hey @faeran  big fan of all your themes! I finally deiced to give this one a try and was wondering if Is there way for videos expand and retract when there is no navigation being done in Bigbox? Since the Videos are quite small on my 4k display. Thank you!

Hey faeran,

I like the BB Theme, but I would like to make a few changes so the Windows version better matches the Android version in terms of initial platform selection.
There are also a few details and sizes I would like to adjust.

Can you please upload the Community Project Files for the current version (2.1)?
Only the older version 1.2 is listed, and it has compatibility issues.

Thanks,

If memory serves, the current version of BannerBox uses the new flow control, which is currently not supported in the CTC. This means, that while I can update the CTC project files, mostly.. it would still require you to dive into the code of any game's view to make changes in the published files.

Let me know if this is something you'd be willing to do, or can hold off on doing this until the CTC is updated to 2.5, which at that point, should have native support for it.

My coding skills are probably not high enough to do the theme justice as it deserves.
I’ll hold off for the tools; I wouldn’t want to butcher a work of art.

Thanks!

Love this theme. Definitely my favourite.  Just wondering if anyone has had issues with the Sony Playstation Vita banner showing the incorrect image? For me it's showing the launchbox banner and not the bannerbox one.

Thanks again for an awesome theme

Having the same issue... did you solve it?

Hi Mally123

Unfortunately I never found a solution to this issue. I just use a different theme now because it was bugging the crap out of me :(

Banners need to have the exact name of the platform you have in LaunchBox.

Check the banner files inside of:

  • LaunchBox\Themes\BannerBox\Images\Platforms\Banner

Looks like there is a Sony PSP Vita banner which should probably have its name changed. For now, if you change the file name to whatever you have in LaunchBox, it should work.

Hey @faeran !  Quick question: can you still create banners in the new version of CTC?  When I follow the directions from your YouTube video, I don't see the boxes to switch from theme creator mode to custom images mode.  Help!

It's still there, but has probably been moved since the video. It's available on the top-centered menu that appears when you mouse over.
