  1. Should be able to just turn on dynamic box sizing in options and it'll take care of it for you
  2. First off you need to understand LaunchBox is a front end NOT the emulator playing the games. You're first two would be emulator questions as they handle all game input and display settings. LaunchBox doesn't care about your screen refresh rate. Third item answer is yes, you can organize your collection however you want. Put them in their own platform, playlist, etc so that you can navigate to them how you want.
  3. Can import them all, delete the items you don't want from LB, then (if you're using a non-merged set) use LB to move the roms to a different folder for whatever is left and then delete the rest.
  4. Instead of importing the folder you can import just the files and hand pick. Either use "Select Files" in the wizard, or just drag the roms to LB and run the importer from there
  5. Not sure I've seen the error you're talking about regarding not being able to install to Program Files before (unless that some OS error you were getting). You however easily change the roms paths in your collection. Open LaunchBox and select a single platform in the side bar, then select all the games in the grid and go to Toos > File Management > Change ROMs path for Selected Games (or something similar to that) and point it to the folder those games are in, then rinse repeat for all your platforms.
  6. The menu is the LaunchBox Icon in upper left corner. Click it and you can navigate to any of the menus from there.
  7. Short of the MAME Fullset importer LaunchBox only adds games you tell it to add so you can put in whatever you want. You could even pull down a large set, and use LaunchBox to pair down the collection and remove ROM files you're no longer interested in. If importing MAME roms just make sure you check the "Force use MAME metadata" checkbox on import so it properly reads those "cryptic" file names for you and matches them appropriately.
  8. Just had some one report something similar in Discord and the cause for them is because they had "Use All Controllers" on and a wheel plugged in and it was causing it. I'd make sure you aren't in a similar boat.
  9. LB shouldn't actually crash, but Windows will probably tell you the app has stopped responding. Doing an auto-pop with no filters takes that window FOREVER to grab all the games (which it does on the main thread) and so Windows see's it as locked up and offers to close the app for you. If you let it go though it will eventually come back with that tab full of every game in your library. Is something we should probably make work a bit better, but certainly isn't new to this version.
  10. If you're on 11.8 you should be good to just grab the latest installer and run it over your current install. You won't lose any data during the upgrade installation.
  11. This happens when you're operating system is telling us it's not installed and so seems like you have a disconnect somewhere on your machine. First step would be to open command prompt as administrator and type the command "sfc /scannow" (without quotes) and let that run then restart your computer. If that doesn't do it you could grab the runtime installer directly from M$ here. If that STILL doesn't work go to Add/Remove programs and remove any .NET Core runtimes you see in the list and then run the installer again.
  12. Open Big Box. Hit escape (enters you into the System Menu). Then go to Options. On that page there is a section called Image Cache. Go there and it's the first option
  13. Typically you see this if the application path is pointing to the same file, or is missing in the additional app you are trying to expand into it's own game entry.
  14. In Options there is an image cache section. You just need to "Refresh Platform Wheel Images" and then it should appear
  15. That behavior you're seeing is almost certainly deferred scrolling happening. Are you running a theme? Another thing you could try is to uncheck "Dynamic Box Sizing" in options and see if that helps you.
  16. Right click the game you want to add and then go to Edit > Add to Playlist > Street Fighter To put the game in the platform list simply right click that playlist and hit Edit to enter the Edit Window. On the bottom of the first tab is a check box that will place the playlist in the platform list. Check that and press OK
  17. Ah. You have deferred scrolling on. What that means is that nothing will load in until you let go of the scroll bar. You can turn that off by going to Tools > Options. Navigate to Visuals > Main Window Theme > Features. Make sure the top box is CHECKED. This will update the grid immediately when scrolling and stop it from doing that.
  18. Yeah, you just toss them all in a playlist and then you can either use Playlist view to see only playlists, add the playlist to your Platforms view, or add the playlist to Platform Category view and access it from there
  19. Awesome, thanks for the update.
  20. Typically the cache job starts when you press a side bar filter option and load the grid. You'll see a real small progress bar toward the top of the UI (in Default) that is the cache build progress. It also gets cleared/rebuilt for ALL items anytime you change the image group or box size. If possible could you take a small vid of what you're experiencing and maybe I can see exactly what you are and let you know if that's "normal" or not.
  21. I don't use LedBlinky so I want to make sure I'm understanding your report. When starting Big Box LedBlinky isn't being told the front end was started? Not sure what you mean by "front end controls"
  22. What you may be experiencing is your image cache building. LaunchBox will take your displayed media and create a smaller version that is quicker to load the next time. If the cache hasn't been built yet though this process CAN add delay in loading items. Once the cache has been built this should speed up since we just read the smaller file from that point on. Swapping side bar values and reloading the grid can take a second and will cause that fade out/in though you are referring to.

I'd assume it has something to do with the name of your platform inside of LaunchBox. If it doesn't match the name of the view files it would do that.
  24. Theme has been updated to version 1.2: Made changes to the Platform Details view - Updated strings - Adds tooltip to play button to see which game will be played Made changes to the Game Details View - Updated logic for the play button version dropdown to only display versions you can play - Added a manage button to manage game installations with
  25. Can you post a screenshot of the games "Additional Apps" section in the Edit Game window?
