  1. The startup and shutdown screens will not be compatible with Rocket Launcher for the time being, so a hybrid approach isn't supported, at least not yet. That said, you should be able to turn them completely off in Big Box, and there should be no difference to how it launches now than before the startup screens were added in. You can turn them completely off under Options > Game Startup > Enable Startup Screen. I just tested this and confirmed that it is turning it off. Can you re-check to make sure that that setting is off? There are separate settings for both LaunchBox and Big Box to disable the startup screens.
  2. FYI guys, I'm planning on putting out the official release tomorrow. Let me know if anyone is seeing any major issues with the startup screens in beta 9.
  3. Go Tools > Options > General > Updates and check the box to Update to Beta Releases. Then just restart and it should update (it might download in the background if you have Backup Updates checked).
  4. Thank you @dukeemu. I'll get this in before the official release tomorrow. Much appreciated.
  5. Playlists do not currently support random videos, unfortunately, mainly for performance reasons. I may come back to this at some point, but it's not currently a priority. If you want a theme to fill the screen on a 16:10 monitor, and it isn't filling it, you can tweak the ThemeSettings.xml file. Just change the Force16X9AspectRatio setting (or similar) to false with a text editor.
  6. Beta 9 is out now with the following: - Fixed: Various Big Box screen positioning issues with multiple monitors that use different DPI settings I've also fixed screen positioning issues with the startup and shutdown screens in that situation.
  7. It's almost guaranteed that a startup theme similar to this will be out shortly, so I think it'll be a non-issue. Try playing with the the emulator settings for PCSX2 in LaunchBox, under the Game Startup tab. You can also check to see if there are fullscreen settings available for PCSX2. It's best to use your desktop's native resolution, and use fullscreen exclusive mode if available.
  8. Thank you Kondorito; I have this integrated for the next beta (beta 9). Should be out shortly.
  9. It's a simple XAML file change, and it's commented fairly obviously in the XAML. Look for the spinning disc animations.
  10. The theme is not 2.3GB. It's still 282MB. 2.3GB is the combined size of all the versions.
  11. Unfortunately my guess would be that this is somehow a system-specific error with MAME. Does it happen if you disable the startup screens? If it does, I would suggest that you report it to the MAME development team.
  12. Beta 8 is out now with a fix for the aforementioned Dolphin Big Box issue.
  13. Ah, I see what's happening here. It seems to be specific to Big Box and Dolphin somehow. I'll dive into it.
  14. If nothing is selected there, that's the problem. Just make sure you check fanart - background.
  15. Check your background priorities settings in the LaunchBox options.
  16. Thank you Claudio; I have this in for the next beta (beta 8). I just put out beta 7 so it should come out in tomorrow's beta.
  17. Beta 7 is out now with a couple of improvements for the startup screens: Demul (and possibly some other emulators) should now work properly with shutdown screens Steam now works properly for the majority of games with both the startup and shutdown screens
  18. The Big Box background fade setting is currently used in the startup screens, regardless of whether you're running it from LaunchBox or Big Box. We might change that though because I know it's confusing.
  19. Thank you guys. @Opak I have the German translation in for the next beta (should be out shortly).
  20. We might be able to add this in at some point, but unfortunately it won't make the next release. I thought about that during development, but I think the use case of it is just too rare to focus on it for the time being. Check your Big Box Background Fade setting; it might be set to 100%.
  21. I'm sorry. I really don't know what's going on here. It's sounds like you've been to hell and back, but something still isn't right. Hopefully you can get some other help on here, but I have to step out and get back to development.
  22. Unfortunately we're probably not going to be able to help further with this. I'm not sure what's all related, or if you're running a broken version of Windows 10, but it sounds like that might be the case. You might just have to reinstall Windows from scratch if that's the problem (but I can't really confirm much of anything without being there).
  23. Unfortunately, we can't really help with that.
  24. Yeah, I remember that. If that's happening, then pretty much the only reason why it would happen (assuming you aren't getting any errors within the installer) is that you have an anti-virus program installed that is causing problems. Try exiting out of all antivirus programs first. Other than the antivirus issues, we've never seen an issue like that once in the three years we've been using that installer, so I'm nearly 100% confident that it's not a bug with LaunchBox or the installer.
