  1. I assume LaunchBox is pointing towards the exe or shortcut. Is it starting and closing or not opening at all? Check the Shortcut and see if they put in any command line variables that LaunchBox isn't passing on to the program if LaunchBox is pointed at the exe.
  2. No you don't put anything there. The commands that are on the Associated Platforms page are the commands you need to keep and make sure are correct. This is kind of the same box as those, except this passes the commands to the entire emulator, which again we don't need for RetroArch. Edit: Oh right MAME. You don't need to put commands there unless you don't want to. There are commands you can pass through there if you would like, but you shouldn't have to if I recall.
  3. It's the same no matter what core you use: -L "cores\mame.dll" That command does include the quotes. Just look at the other default commands in the Associated Platforms list and copy the same format, but plug in the core you need and in this case should be mame.dll.
  4. Well if you disable them, then yea, what sounds! I've been seeing people make their own packs though so I wanted a place to keep them. I might even make a pack of my own.
  5. Watch the tutorials that I make on YouTube, I primarily cover RetroArch and this will answer a lot of the questions you may have. You can get there by the link in my signature below all of my posts. If you have any more questions after that I will still be more than happy to answer them for you.
  6. If we do allow that on the Database, sadly we would have to deny Copy written music, but you are more than welcome to share your music on Mediafire, Google Drive, Mega or Dropbox. Just put the download link in a reply. I also made a thread for users to share their sound packs if you'd like to post it there: https://www.launchbox-app.com/forum/collections/bigbox-user-sound-pack-mega-thread#p17827
  7. Users have been creating custom sound packs for BigBox recently and I wanted to create a thread for users to come and post their creations for everyone to download them! If you would be so kind to use a friendly upload service, that would be great. A short list of providers we like are Mediafire, Mega, Google Drive and Dropbox. Just post your link in a reply with a small description! 8. Keep updating your metadata too from time to time. Jason should be working on the cohesion with LaunchBox and the Database this week so downloading new metadata will be a lot easier.
  9. Sweet, we appreciate it @nyny77.
  10. The names will need to rematch, but only the portions outside of brackets and parenthesis so if what ever is inside ( ) is wildly different you can ignore it. As long as the game name matches the media, you'll be good. Delete the games and do an import, but uncheck all of the boxes to download anything and the process will go fairly fast. You can then see if any of your games are missing media. Click a game in your system of choice, then Ctrl + A to highlight them all. Then go to Tools -> Download Metadata and Images. It will bring up the wizard and ask you a question with 3 choices. Pick the bottom choice and it will only download media for games that are missing their images. You can then use the tool to clean up images for the images that are no longer associated to anything. That clean up could take a while though if you have a lot of media. If you want to see if any of your games need new images then you'll need to select the top option in the Wizard for re-downloading metadata, but of course this will take a lot longer.
  11. No problem, I am glad it's all working now.
  12. No because that is all Kodi, we have nothing at all to do with that. Our plans aren't exactly to launch your games from Kodi, that is still all them. You can certainly launch LaunchBox and BigBox from Kodi, that's as far as we've taken that.
  13. Not specifically no. We are working on ways to fill in the gaps more and more. If you want to request this at the BitBucket, if it hasn't been already, you're welcome to do so.
  14. Ah right, that was it. I haven't downloaded a Software set so I never looked. I also thought split or a normal download was fine to drop an update set in to? We're also using the default list of 172 roms so that we can internalize the MAME names to real scrape-able names. So merged still works, but it depends on what the check boxes during the MAME import want to hide from importing. If something from the merged set triggers the hiding then there isn't anything we can really do about it unless the user lets LaunchBox import everything. So yea, in terms of best compatibility Split is the best choice. Are split sets just "regular" set downloads? If so then why won't dropping in an update pack not work?
  15. We've given you all the tools and the tutorials are video instructions. You do have all you need to move forward.
  16. Yea I don't know what that is specifically about, but I set my BIOS path in the settings to a folder that included all my BIOS files, then selected one from the BIOS drop down menu.

No problem, if you have more questions feel free to ask!
  18. Thank you for sharing this! I might even have to try this out.
  19. I honestly have no clue how to launch it through Kodi, I was under the impression it was just a link to LaunchBox and LaunchBox opens from within Kodi. As for playing the games, yes LaunchBox or BigBox always have to open for the software to work.
  20. Yea you should have probably led with the error code. A quick search and one of the top results: "You need to create a zip file named dc.zip and but all the Demul BIOS files in that (including mpr-21931.ic501) and put that in Demul's roms folder." Maybe Derek can advise further, but like I said make sure you have the right BIOS files and make sure they're selected properly. More or less following the video, and if your BIOS don't work you'll need to find a different set.

    virus

Yes, BitDefender is falsely flagging us as a virus. We've had several reports of this and there is nothing we can do about it. All you can do is change AV Software (Windows has a built in one) or whitelist the entire LaunchBox folder so that this stops happening. It's what's called a False Positive. Personally I use Malwarebytes Antimalware (the Pro version), and that's it. I've never had a problem with anything and I don't get false positives. Otherwise, you are completely safe.
  22. Yea except for the track's and bin files, you should be able to just load the cdi or gdi right on in to Demul. You just load the file in to the emulator provided you have the proper BIOS files.
  23. DragonKnight said SentaiBrad said Then it sounds like you are missing the BIOS or have the wrong ones. Do you think you can fallow me on twitter so i can send you the picture of the file? Everyone uses the forums just fine. The same process there would be the same here. Take the screenshot, upload it to Imgur or somewhere and copy the link or click the "img" button above where you type a post here on the forums and put the link in there.
