  1. Did you import them as Arcade or check the box to force using the MAME importer? The names match an internal MAME system, which we process properly, as long as the MAME import function is triggered. Re-import as Arcade or checking the box and see if Metadata is found then for you.
  2. mackjackson said Yeah good, Great job Thank you. :P I honestly wasn't fishing for compliments or praise I just thought maybe Fisty hadn't seen it yet. xD Also calling you Fisty is really really fun. xD (I'm a child inside)
  3. I told you that a while ago, but I hate saying the same thing 5 or 6 times cause I assume you had heard me before and now I am being an ass for just repeating it... but I am coming to learn that that's not the case. ;)
  4. @DOS76 When the Update is downloaded and the installer runs, open Task Manager and end LB, see if that helps.
  5. lordmonkus said I would just like to add that on my laptop with Windows 10 and only using Defender I have had no issues at all. On my main gaming PC running Windows 8.1 using BitDefender Free Edition I have had no problems with Launchbox but I have run into issues with other software at times and BitDefender flagging it when it was just a false positive. I do like BitDefender because it is so simple, light weight on the system and probably the best free AV out there but I also don't like how overly sensitive it can be at times. Malwarebytes is very lightweight too.
  6. Games are still released to other countries at different times sadly. Either way there is a ticket for this in the Games DB Database already. https://bitbucket.org/jasondavidcarr/gamesdb.launchbox-app.com/issues/23/regional-names-dates-and-potentially
  7. Jason Carr said Thank you all. Unfortunately I'm knee-deep in (actually productive) development right now, so I don't think it would be wise to keep spinning my wheels trying to get past these unfortunate false positives. It really bugs the heck out of me that we're having these issues, but it seems like as soon as I manage to get past one anti-virus program, a bunch more pop up, so I guess I'd just end up drowning trying "fix" them all, and nothing would actually get done. Thanks to @weltall for noting that Hyperspin has been struggling with this as well. As a solution, my best suggestion is to exclude the LaunchBox folder in your anti-virus configuration. However, if you're running Windows 8 or Windows 10, I strongly suggest uninstalling whatever anti-virus program you're using, and using Microsoft's Windows Defender instead. It comes with Windows, is on by default, works very well, and isn't plagued by false positives like this. In my opinion, due to Microsoft's Windows Defender, third-party anti-virus programs are entirely obsolete and will only slow down your system and get in the way. We actually do have a user who reported that Windows Defender did this though, so I still suggest to add LaunchBox to your Windows Defender white list too.
  8. Izzy said Hi, is there anyone who translates LB to Swedish? Or am I the only Swede here? You're certainly not the only Swedish here, but no one has offered to help translate for that language. https://www.launchbox-app.com/forum/features/translating-launchbox#p2388
  9. If you move some of the files it can break things, they ideally all need to stay together.
  10. Damn it, PAL got a ton of cool stuff....... I want it all now. I absolutely love Zelda.
  11. Jason is currently trying to figure it out. Yea one of the main reasons I love Malwarebytes is the Open Candy or adware silent installs that installers give. Really really handy. I started using it because I had gotten a worm in 2008, that pretty much ate my system. XP was caught in a boot loop that it would never leave. So I took out my hard drive, went to my then girlfriends house, plugged it up and ran Malwarebytes on it. Took several hours, but it totally worked when nothing else did.
  12. I recorded it Sunday? :P I've actually covered a lot of Prototype and unreleased games the past few weeks. Really interesting stuff.
  13. Turning it off is not necessarily a good idea, there are dummies out there and they'll need any protection. That said, you can white list applications in AV software, I would suggest users do this. White list the entire LaunchBox directory and that should apply to anything inside of it and every subfolder. Personally, Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Pro has been the only piece of active av software that I've used for the last 7 years and I don't have any problems and it protects me from connecting to crap sites or from malicious IP's from connecting to my PC. I also use IOBit Advanced System Care, but this is more for upkeep on the PC. These two pieces of software have kept me completely clean, my wife's PC, my mother in law's PC and my mother's PC (I am the tech in the family, so they listen and they've all had 0 problems).
  14. Here's the thing though, we know exactly who does what and if we see someone abusing the system they will be removed as a moderator.
  15. Yea I covered that in Retro Style Spotlight that went up 9 min ago on the channel. :P
  16. Are you on Beta or Stable? Stable is 5.10.
  17. In the end your best possible choice will probably be to just get a newer MAME pack.
  18. I saw this on the BitBucket too, it seems a recent Windows update to Defender may have screwed us. Let me forward this to Jason really fast.
  19. Take the latest beta or stable release and install over your current directory. It sounds like maybe an Anti-virus got over protective and removed the exe?
  20. Right now Jason is focusing on the Software over the Database currently so that he doesn't get burnt out on working. He is our only coder so sometimes things take a bit of time to come about. Thank you for bringing this to our attention though, we appreciate it.
  21. The CHD error's are because you are missing the chd files, but like I said this is a lot lot bigger and unless there is a game you want to play that requires a chd you can avoid some of them. Otherwise I guess who ever compiled the pack compiled the BIOS completely wrong. I'm sorry there have been so many issues, I feel bad and normally it doesn't go this bad.
  22. No there isn't sadly because that's not how the Steam API works. I would suggest to mark the games you have installed or want to play specially like with a Favorite check or edit their source or series fields then sort by that. If you have premium you have access to custom filters too which will completely solve that problem also.
  23. There have been the top 3 or 4 people who have been following the rules so I have taken a step back from it so I can do my other work. :P
  24. I'd rather just not go that route, not to mention the PBP is saving disc space as well. So I have to convert my games, but the software also has an iso extraction in-case I do convert a game and it turns out not to work like my first multi disc test. As far as I read (which who knows what is true), supposedly with this software it's supposed to know when to switch discs? Who knows.
