  1. I don't know if we use VLC for audio playback but I've forwarded this to Jason.
  2. No, we do not share links on where to download roms here, and please don't ask.
  3. CADScott said GatoSoft said Why am I cruel? I didn't understood... xD Sorry, wrong person, I meant @CliveBarker, your name was at the top of his Rick Roll post! I was so disturbed by the images I saw that I blamed the wrong person! I will have you know Rick Astley is a god among men! No disturbing images! ;)
  4. CADScott said The advantage with using Kodi is that it has nice shutdown commands for the PC, and also a file manager that works with a controller. BigBox has shut down commands for the PC as well now, so if a user just wants to boot straight in to LB/BB there is no need to add Kodi, unless of course the user wants Kodi functionality.
  5. For controlling the PC with a controller, Xpadder would work as you can emulate the mouse to the controller. Joy2Key and other keyboard to controller software might do that as well, but I know Xpadder for sure does this. However, it's not needed in LaunchBox as LaunchBox and BigBox both support controller's, BigBox being designed for that. I would still say to have a keyboard and mouse handy just in case you need to fix something. We have had several users do this successfully and no one can agree on how to do it because different people have different methods and some users are not comfortable editing the registry. You didn't specify what version of Windows you are using, I assume at least Windows 7 (but this should work for 8 and 10 as well:) http://www.windowsnetworking.com/kbase/WindowsTips/Windows7/AdminTips/Admin/ReplacingtheExplorerShellinWindows7.html This should work, however I haven't personally tested this specific method.
  6. Thanks for the post, I hope this helps Snes9x users.
  7. WAV is uncompressed but if you convert an mp3 in the end it's what ever the mp3 was technically speaking. The mp3 is compressed and you can't decompress it and convert it back to a wav, you can't add that data back in. So if your source mp3 is 128-320kbps stereo at 41,100 or 48,000kHz you should be fine when converting it to a wav. Some convertors may not let you choose the bit rate and the frequency, generally choosing 41k or 48k will lock the bit rate, but you should still be fine. If you do change it let us know what you change them to, I think it would be fun to have users share custom sound packs for BigBox.
  8. Do you know if anything updated between you playing and the crash? Anything at all change?
  9. You need to update to the latest version, we no longer use the GamesDB.
  10. It used to automatically play the game but it was changed over a year ago. The thought was it's easy to press play or double click etc, so it might be more user friendly to have it not auto-play.
  11. If you use a filter and hit random then it should randomly choose from that list.
  12. Of course! If you have more questions please feel free to ask us.
  13. Oh, I missed that last line, I am sorry. Yea, they need to be in .wav and a generally 320kbps at 48000mhz works everywhere. These sounds are actually a higher bitrate, (over 1k kbps) but 320 should be just fine if that's what you have. http://audio.online-convert.com/convert-to-wav This should work easily as well to convert them. Edit: 128kbps and 256kbps will work just fine too, it depends no the source mp3 file, you can't really make it go higher than your source file.
  14. The Surface Pro 3 is just a Windows tablet, so long as you have a model with the power behind it you should be fine. This goes for any other machine as well, as long as it's Windows based. Games and Emulators can be anywhere you like (hopefully that was shown in the video's) including over a network or OneDrive. Even if guides are for older versions it should be mostly the same unless they've changed something significant. The last big significant change was when MESS was integrated, and even then nothing changed besides the combination. For the most part, revisions to the emulator just change what games can be played, usually. So if you add the emulator, then tell LB where your MAME games are, and use the MAME import process you should be good to go. Now granted, MAME is super tricky and confusing and even LB doesn't handle it all that well. For importing MAME the easiest way possible though I do suggest using this: https://www.launchbox-app.com/forum/emulation/lightspeed-ultra-fast-mame-importer-tool#p13904 We are even working on integrating it in to LB in the future.
  15. Replace the Sounds in the sound folder. In your LB Root folder is "Sounds", that is what Big Box uses.
  16. I don't think that's normal, is that the Spanish translation? Edit: This is also my 2,000th post. :O
  17. How many games do you have and did you just import a bunch? Are you looking at the "All" tab on the left? Ideally LaunchBox can always use more optimization, but there are a few things that can cause some lag with gigantic libraries (I have 20k myself). If you just added a bunch of recently got a lot of metadata for your systems it may be trying to cache all of your images, which take a while. The more powerful a CPU the faster this can go, but at a certain point it just takes some time. While this process is going you need to just wait, and scroll through your library while it caches all the images (scrolling though makes it go faster then just waiting). If you're looking at all of your games, then try looking at just 1 system and see if it still is a bit laggy here too. Unlikely, but possible, software could be out of date or conflicting with LaunchBox as well.
  18. The only official resource are the forums and the video's, and you hit both of those. So now I want to make sure you get up and running as best as possible and hopefully I can clarify as much as I can from the video's.
  19. Well this doesn't tell us too much besides that LaunchBox is freezing, so what OS are you using, what version of LaunchBox, what are your PC Specs like? Let's start basic. Do you have games added or is this your very first time launching LaunchBox?
  20. The bigger the library the slower that process can take, it is also almost completely dependent on CPU with some RAM. Mine can take a bit to load, but it doesn't take longer than a min and I've got 20k games.
  21. Disc's are significantly cheaper. There are a few indie devs doing this sort of thing, if they can get guaranteed support and per-purchases why not do it? Publicity stunt, you make your fans and collectors happy. It is certainly a better idea to just purchase it on PC, PS3 or PS4. It might even be on Vita.
  22. It's that expensive because they had to buy those carts and print all those games. Games of that era used to be $70 back then, so $70 now is actually cheaper. It's a very small run on a dead format.
  23. Well first and foremost, purchase the game regardless of platform. It's like I say with Nintendo games, they give you easy ways to purchase it so please do that. At a certain point something falls in to the ambiguously grey and not-at-all legal term 'Abandonware', but these are hard working men and woman.
  24. They added some different stuff to that version of the game, but it's functionally the same game just with a different level of content. The PC and console versions... well the Ps4 versions are superior to the rest. You get tons of options.
