  1. Ha, no need to apologize first and fore most. By no means was I trying to say how dare you post something this awesome! I meant it more as you should watch our YouTube channel then, because I apparently cover what you like. Also, RSS is short for Retro Style Spotlight, I did it kind of on purpose but now I realize I can easily confuse someone for a real RSS feed. xD Along with the Tutorials on our YouTube channel I do RSS which is Retro Gaming news, emulation news, LB news etc. Please, keep posting!
  2. Yea, a lot of consoles do actually. Sega Genesis got an RPG in 2013? That got ported to everything, PC, modern consoles, even the Dreamcast. If people feel like it and they can make money doing it, thanks crowd funding, then it's going to happen. The RPG im talking about by the way is Pier Solar. It's really good actually.
  3. Yea what Derek and Scott said, where are you having your problems? I make the video's so it would be good for me to know where I am falling short. The later tutorials I try and make sure to go through most of the basic steps as I was in the beginning, but over time I thought people would get tired of hearing the same thing over and over. Well, I forgot that some people wont watch all or don't need to watch all of them. :P
  4. Just to make sure, are you on the latest LaunchBox Beta? If not, you can do so from the options in LB. There is a tab on the left in options that says Updates. Check the beta box and restart LB. I don't know if that will fix it, but let me know if it does or if you already have the beta.
  5. Yea, it was awesome. I covered it on RSS this past Tuesday actually.
  6. We still need to figure out how to actually import those games sufficiently well still.
  7. So it sounds like you have your games on something other than your external, then yea we need to know if you have your games in your LaunchBox folder or in their own Roms folder. If they're in the LB folder you have a relative path, and if they're in their own folder then they are in a full path, like Derek has shown. If they're in a full path then move all your games to your external. If they're in say, "C:\Emulators\insert system names\" and you move just the emulators folder, you can use Notepad++ to find and replace the "C:\" with your external letter, lets say "D:\". If your games are already on an external hard drive or you've just moved them to an external then on your new computer just make sure to change your external hard drive letter to the old one. If you plug in the external to your new PC it may not stay the old letter, it depends on what you have plugged in at the time. So if on the new PC it's F:\, then in windows before you start doing too much with your PC change it to D:\. You'll also want to make sure your Emulators have the same path, if they were in the full path you changed then you're good, but if they're in a completely different path then you need to double check those, but there shouldn't be too many so you can do that manually. As per the LaunchBox folder, that is completely Portable as it never installs anything to your Windows Registry. So as long as your console names in LB never change, all the images, video, music and manuals will load just fine.
  8. Oh yea certainly, but the question was more about our multi-platformness, of which we have none. xD
  9. Of course. Our team is just Jason and myself, and he's the only coder so stuff like this just takes a while. We really want to be on those platforms it will just take time.
  10. It has been covered a lot in the past, but LaunchBox and BigBox are only available on Windows. There are plans for future releases to other platforms like Linux and Mac, but those are in the future.
  11. "He's not a monster, he's a machiiiiine!"
  12. Yea, Big Box and LaunchBox are only supported on Windows Vista, 7, 8.1 and 10. Mac, Linux and potentially Android support might come in the future, but it's a long ways off still.
  13. They're still all individual games, just acquired as one set. There's a lot of crap in here I don't want though, and you can't really choose it during download (depends on the set), like Snooker or Adult Film Cameraman. >.>
  14. Unless someone can confirm they do this with Steam games, that is actually probably it. We don't use the exe's to launch games but rather an API call that is consistent 100% and why you see uninstalled games too.
  15. scree said You need to make 2 additional apps. One to start Xpadder before the game and the second to close Xpadder once you quit the game. See attached images for examples. Even more specific, thank you Scree.
  16. Ah yea, if the video doesn't play the music should as long as the music is also set to auto-play.
  17. Microsoft released an update for their controller drivers that completely messed things up. As for the exact problem, we're not really sure. We just know when you had 2 or more controllers plugged in, and even with 1 controller plugged in, it created a bunch of issues amd conflicts. Microsoft does need to fix this one, but I doubt they notice or care. They released this update and it is completely broken. Also yea, it will cause problems with other software that deals with Direct Input or XInput devices for the Xbox One and even some 360 controllers.
  18. Open Options and on the left under General is Game Details. Click that, then under Show check the box Video. Close options then under View is an Auto play function for Video. If the video box already shows up all you need to do is check Auto-play. Jason is working on Video controls for a future release like they exist with WMP Playback.
  19. If you care about achievements then The Mega Man Legacy Collection is awesome. First 6 games $15 on every modern system including PC. The emulation is great, the art work is great and plus achievements. And yea, everyone has their own tastes, but I do like to share my setup. The first console I played was an NES and Genesis when I was like 3 or 4, and my dad had an SNES when I was younger than that that I vaguely remember. I have an odd memory, my first one I think. I was super super super young, sitting on their bed when he was laid up with a cast on after he just got his screws in his ankle. The Genesis my cousins had and played Sonic when ever I could. We had one for a while when I was like 4-6 (can't remember exactly) and had the Sega Channel, a monthly subscription that gave us digital games over the cable or phone line. Then in I think 1997 I got an N64 that was all mine. I remember that well, then a year or two later, we got a PS1? Something like that.
  20. I just added back in a new DOS set (4,815) and I have 19,615 games total now. For me, I went with consoles I'd like to play instead of games. xD With the random function in LB you can get a lot of mileage out of a huge library. I also have very few duplicates, I am very stringent on that. NTSC preferred for everything, then PAL so it's in English. Then Japanese is left unless it's English translated which takes precedent in the English category. If there is a re-translation of a Japanese game (Final Fantasy on SNES) then the re-translation is preferable to the NTSC or PAL versions of the games. I also have very little to no Sports games. Racing doesn't count and I like some golf or sim sports games.
  21. Normally I don't parrot Jason on a lot of stuff, but in this case I completely agree. Thank you all for the great translation work you've been doing. It really does help us out a lot!
  22. CADScott said CADScott said Jason Carr said CADScott said My email is actually on online one, so my client and provider are actually kind of the same. I will have a good look at the settings in the online portal and try to turn off span for anything to do with LaunchBox, but hopefully Jason can reset the error at your end. Apologies, @CADScott. I looked into how to reset it and got nowhere. So I'm moving on for now. Pretty odd, that's for sure; sorry for the trouble, wish I had a good solution for it. Ouch, that is a bother! I might have to set up a custom email alias just for LaunchBox then! Hopefully it is something that can be fixed in the future, it certainly might effect someone else if they have any auto spam filters. I have set up a new email alias for LaunchBox, and I am now getting emails again, yah! They heard your betrayal! That is stupid strange.
  23. Yes. For now adding, removing and image editing are not available. In steps.
