  1. LaunchBox can work with a controller, but Big Box is more oriented towards that, which is apart of Premium. If the trackball can be mapped like a controller, or even as a keyboard, then LaunchBox and Big Box should read it no problem, or with a little bit of set up. I also don't know what you're asking with your last point per-se, but that should be enough to run LaunchBox / Big Box and almost any emulator. Obviously, there is a little more nuance than that, but still. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask!

    Hide Games?

Sweet, glad you got it figured out! If you have more questions, feel free to ask.
  3. I just meant that it's the Game Theme videos from our server vs any video from EmuMovies (I believe). I honestly haven't ran that part of the importer. The Platform videos are done in a different area (Tools -> Download Platform Theme Videos). I do believe they are edited theme videos instead of straight gameplay, or instead of straight gameplay it's gameplay in an edited, packaged video.
  4. Oh yea, that's what it should be. Game theme videos vs gameplay videos from EmuMovies.
  5. It depends on your ping. When you put an ocean between you and the server, it can take some serious time to even connect, let alone download everything you need. I've seen it take various amounts of time, but there really isn't a benchmark for this sort of thing, as it could vary wildly even from state to state here, let alone across an ocean.
  6. If a video is looping then that usually means the PC is taking longer to load up Big Box than is the length of the video. I can see @Jason Carr making a change where it will randomly pull a video from your folder, and play the entire length regardless of where Big Box is from loading, then close down when it's done. This will solve the various length problems, even add in a button to skip the start up video for ones that are too long. However, if your PC is taking longer to load Big Box than your video, then...
  7. An EmuMovies account would make things look nicer, as it could provide more images, but that would make things slower, you'd be downloading more. So it depends on the complexity of the system, systems like MAME that have a lot of filtering to do or PC systems that have lots of disk's to combine could naturally take longer depending on your CPU. Past that, where is it that you live? Are you across the ocean from the states? Is your network cluttered with devices? Do you have issues connecting to other websites or services? It's all really dependent, and having good internet may not always be enough. It could be that our server draw has been high too, or our server is experiencing some slow down, but ever since we upgraded a while ago the only reports that come in seem to be related to other sources. For the record, I can download 14 images, plus a video from a game within 30-45 seconds from an edit screen (sometimes a little more, sometimes a little less, and it depends on the amount). This includes the LBGDB and EmuMovies. Any info you can provide would help.
  8. When you run a second import for a system you've already imported, even the importer says it found x amount of games, it wont re-import them based on the file name. LaunchBox should notice duplicates on it's own and not import them. So for example, if I added a new PS1 game to my PS1 folder (with that same set up), ran the importer, chose the files and searched out the file extension I needed, added them all to the list, and went through to the end, it will only import the 1 new game.
  9. Startup videos for when Big Box Launches? You can set 1 currently, but not multiples. This would make a great request though, so feel free to click Issues/Requests at the top and request this! Don't forget to vote on your own ticket!
  10. If you're using controller automation, you can generally press your exit buttons again when that screen pops up to fully exit.
  11. You could tell LaunchBox that the media is on the server too, but I would advise moving as much as you can from the server to the PC's. Later, bigger, more intensive games may cause issues over networks as is. It would also depend on how big your library is.
  12. If the emulators are added to your LaunchBox install from the same drive as LaunchBox, it will use relative paths. Anything you add to LaunchBox, all from the same drive, uses a relative path, meaning a drive letter is never assigned. It just assumes the folder structure is the same on which ever drive you're running things from. So if you need to assign a drive letter, just make sure it's the same drive letter on each PC. So if your server is Drive Z, and you import your games from drive z on one PC, make sure the other PC has Drive Z and the same structure. You'll run the importer, assign the emulators, download all your media. All the media is in the LB folder, and the emulators on the same drive. You should just need to move LaunchBox and the emulators (that entire drive structure), to another PC, and it should work.
  13. So LaunchBox isn't exactly designed to be on one PC and then run from multiples. That goes as far as Windows will let anyone. However, the solution would be to install LaunchBox to each machine and point it to the games on the network. So when you run an import, you tell it where the games are on the network. Assume you put the emulators and LaunchBox all on the same drive, and have it point towards the network, you should be able to take that install of LaunchBox and put it on another machine, media and all. If LaunchBox and the emulators are on the same drive, LB will see the emulators from a relative path. Doing it this way ensures people have their own saves, the emulator is not being gimped by the network, and LaunchBox can operate on it's own, also allowing people to keep their own favorites and playlists. As long as the rom path is the same from any PC, copying the install should suffice. However, if the path is different from each PC, you can carry over the LB Install, Emulators and media, but will need to re-import with all the media boxes unchecked. That is the simplest way to do it, I think.
  14. If they are, that's new to me.
  15. This happens from time to time. Their site and API are on different servers, so the FTP and site could work just fine, but not the API. Give it some time and it will work again.
  16. Some RA cores wont handle zips though, it just depends. We do suggest to avoid zips, but also, there is an option when you edit an emulator to unzip games at runtime. This will help for emulators that don't natively support it at least. If that option is checked for an emulator and you don't use zips though, then it wont work. So it's usually best to create two instances of RetroArch if you must keep them zipped.
  17. If you want it to scrape metadata then you should rename it, but it doesn't effect the playability. Either way, Dolphin now requires some command line parameters. So go to Tools -> Manage emulators, and double click on dolphin. On this first page where it says "Default Command Line Paramaters", put "-b -e" in the box (without quotes).
  18. Because if it assumed your path, and you changed the path or used multiple paths, and you used remove it would empty your entire library. It doesn't assume your path to reduce error (at least that's my guess). It's done on purpose so that it will probably reduce errors.

    Hide Games?

I used MAME .183 non-merged and it worked just fine. You do need a split or non-merged rom set, merged will not work.
  20. You need to go Tools -> Manage Platforms, double click a platform and then click on folders. Edit the first option called Game. Change it to the path for that platform.

    Hide Games?

So when you imported your MAME games, it should have been through the MAME Importer and it should only import games based on your preferences. So if there is a bunch of games that were imported and you didn't go through that, you should go through that importer first. I say that because if it's a lot of games then chances are a proper import might be more helpful. Otherwise, if you Right Click -> Edit a game, there are some check boxes on the right hand side in the middle, and one of them is hide. Check that box and press ok. If you delete a game instead it will just remove it from your library. If you check the box in the options to delete the rom files, a second dialogue will pop up after confirming you want to remove the entry and asking if you'd like to delete the file too. So keep that in mind, you can enable that option but not delete the files, but have it available if you do want to clean up your roms.
  22. There we go! I knew someone would know exactly.
  23. It's not Glupen anymore, that's been rolled up in to the Mupen64Plus core.
  24. The programs might require other software to be installed first for them to work. Like how LaunchBox requires certain software, but LaunchBox should install all of it for the user. Other software isn't as easy. I don't use Project64 for N64, but rather RetroArch (which RA does require command lines), but I don't remember Project 64 2.0+ requiring them. I do recall there being a setting that when you open PJ64 it will show you a list of roms that you can import, and that should be disabled (thought I don't remember there it's located). Past that, PPSSPP shouldn't require anything special and should just launch the games. So given that everything is set up right (if you followed my PPSSPP tutorial), then my best guess is it might be a dependency problem.
