  1. With Patreon if you want to pledge for just a single month then you can do that. You can donate, wait for it to clear so you get the perks of the tier you chose (which is happening soon because it happens at the end of the month. Once that clears, you're in for that tier for the month you donated on, then change up the tier or pledge amount. We understand that people can't always give every month, and that's totally fine. Everyone's personal life comes first.
  2. You're downloading the wrong core without changing the name. Go into your RetroArch/cores folder and copy the name of the core you downloaded. Go back to the associated platform and replace -L "cores\snes9x_next_libretro.dll" to -L "cores\bsnes_balanced.dll" or what ever the name of the core is you are using. You can use any core you want, but the defaults are generally not correct anymore and you can change any system to any core you'd like.
  3. I had created a Wikia a while ago, but honestly, the forums and our video tutorials are all great resources there wasn't enough demand to devote time to it.
  4. Or Bsnes balanced, but yea, that config seems off to me. If you had old configs and carried them over from an older version of RetroArch, they've recently been changing up how cfg's are loaded, used and their syntax, so they're incompatible going forward. So if your RetroArch.cfg is from an older install, or in this case that custom config is from an older install, try with no custom config (just remove the line) and / or a clean RetroArch.cfg, but try removing the line first. Also we can't see the full length of both names, but in the left hand sidebar is your SNES platform, make sure that name also matches the one in the associated platforms page.
  5. Try updating all your drivers with this. Let it run and update anything out of date. Otherwise, even if it's an older GPU, if it's using HDMI there should be little issue, even with VGA it should be good to go. Make sure they're all updated and you have Geforce Experience. I use that to upgrade my drivers when I don't want to scan my whole system, but that software is a life saver.
  6. They can be zipped, but it's much more labor intensive to get them up and running. You extract each game in to it's own folder. So with WinRar I would Ctrl + A, Right Click, Extract Each Archive to Separate Folder. Once that was done, I removed the zips, and ran the DOS Importer. Not the installers, the importer. Tools -> Import -> MS-DOS Games. I then pointed it to the root of my DOS folder and used the folder names as the game names. Most, if not all games, got their names from their main folder, not the folder directly above them (this is key because each game will be inside of another folder since those were the shorthand folder names). From there, it should import. If LB doesn't find a games custom conf file, you can set it manually when needed, and you may need to change the exe, bat or com file it chose. Sometimes it chooses the wrong one. You may also need to run a games setups from time to time to initialize stuff as well.
  7. I'll forward this to Jason and see if he has any clue.

If a game isn't working, then you might need to change the exe, bat or com file LB chose, and / or run the initialization process. These can be setups or config exe's so that things are properly set for DOSBox. I swear I've had LB picking up conf files that exo has put in to these folders too, I did not edit as many of my games that have conf files, so it can grab them automatically. Check to see if the games edit page has the conf put in, or if it even has one. If it didn't, then add it, and that will certainly help. I've never had every DOS game work right out of the box, some take a little bit of love.
  9. A lot of this can be answered by the guidelines. Otherwise, there isn't a way to sync up LaunchBox to the Database, but a feature to upload metadata and media from LB to the Database has been long planned, it's just much more difficult than simply implementing it. We did spin up another server recently after being hit hard with traffic, but it shouldn't be too slow. There is more optimizations that could probably be made, but I don't consider it slow for me. We also have had questions about an API, and while we wouldn't neceserilly rule it out, it is certainly no where near a priority at the moment. Jason would have to create it, and he's the only coder behind everything. After a Database request change has been approved, it can take up to 24 hours for it to take effect, and then at midnight on the day it goes in effect, LauchBox will see the new information and prompt users to update their metadata.xml when they try to reach the database. Once you've done all that, the new info is available. If you're approving the same image twice, there might be a bug, or someone is changing it twice in a row. It's hard to tell without specific instances. Regardless of the guidelines, if something is bad artwork, something is out of place or glaring, then reject it with the proper reasons. As for preferred resolutions, again follow the guidelines, but I would prefer no added filters to a game. Something that cleanly scales up a game is fine, like internal resolution or x3 or x4, etc. However, if it applies any sort of smoothing, scanlines, or effects that aren't present in the game I would say that it doesn't represent it accurately. This stuff is user preference, so leaving it as close to default is best.
  10. Well the Marquee stuff isn't set up like that. The Marquee feature can do some cool things out of the box, but not this specifically. Someone would have to build on those functions in a theme more than likely. I know Jason designed the Marquee to be flexible, so you might be able to do it as is with images, but there isn't a direct way to do this. In LaunchBox you could use additional apps to load an image before booting your game, but that's also not exactly what you're after.
  11. Using a controller in LaunchBox has existed for years actually. You turn it on in the options, but LaunchBox uses a controller in a rather clumsy way, Big Box is the controller oriented side. All you need to do is go to Tools -> Options -> Gamepad / Joystick on the left.
  12. If you need help with MESS, check out our tutorials. In the last MESS tutorial I did, I had switched over to MAME, but all of them are worthwhile. I teach people how to find the commands they need and the steps they should take. It's very similar to RetroArch in fact, and with MAME instead of MESS standalone, you reduce the amount of steps.
  13. If you have a MAME split rom set (174 to 181), or a non-merged set (182-183) and maybe even a split set for 182 and 183, then you have all the software list BIOS available to you. So there's no need to go track them down if you already have them. I have several MESS tutorials up on our channel, just pass the proper commands that I then kevd555 posted and you're good. I wonder why it's listed broken if it works though...

That eXoDOS thread is really long. Basically, you use the DOS importer, point it towards your DOS folder, and it will search for everything. They should not be zipped up, and LaunchBox should find the conf file on it's own during the import. Basically, what I said in my first post on this thread.

Ah, Patham only got 3xO working outside of LB. Then, I will try and take a crack at it at some point soon, but yea. @eXo creating the new importer / solution is obviously the best thing we can count on.
  16. Ah, than I misunderstood. Damn. Well thanks for taking a look anyways, I do appreciate it.

A user by the name of @Patham got 3xO setup in LB and I asked them to come over here and give us some tips because I haven't done 3xO yet either myself.
  18. @Patham would you be so kind and help this user on how you set up 3xO? I know it's more complicated than DOS, but I haven't done it myself. Anything you could offer would be awesome.

Right now, eXoDOS and exo's 3.1 package are being reworked for LaunchBox. MEAGRE hasn't been updated in a while and has an export feature for LB, but it's well out of date and doesn't work anymore. You can import all the DOS games with the DOS Importer. It should pick up on the custom conf files that are needed (when available) for games, and will try and pick up the proper exe. The only editing will need to be that sometimes you'll want to change the exe, bat or com LB automatically selected and you might need to run the setups or configs to make sure everything is initialized properly. Otherwise, my entire DOS collection is eXoDOS. For Windows 3.1, it's a bit more complicated apparently. It's not like DOS, but it's not like proper Windows, it's an awkward inbetween.
  20. Yea, I was gonna say MESS too, but after looking it doesn't seem to be working. Use Ctrl+F and look for "game.com". You could still try, this list may not have been updated in a while. If you want to give it a try, make sure to add the associated platform line "gamecom -cart1". If your roms are in bin or tgc, you're good to go. Also, make sure the platform name matches as well.
  21. So Zombeaver and I were talking on Discord, and we were wondering if the Windowed Fullscreen might help in this regard? It's something I use when I do use Kodi, but we're not really experts regarding Kodi as we don't use it at all in this regard.
  22. To be honest, unless someone from here has had this specific issue, it might be better to ask on the Kodi forums.
  23. What, attract mode and second screen stuff? Yes and yes. Attract Mode kicks in after a certain amount of time of inactivity (with it enabled), and the Marquee stuff does exist, and it can be used on more than just dynamic marquees for arcade cab's. The thing with the Marquee stuff though, is no ones taking full advantage of it with a theme. Big Box does enough with it from a basic point of view, and it is certainly sufficient for most things, but the best UI related stuff is coming from the community. Edit: I should point out that these are for Big Box only.
  24. There really isn't honestly. In terms of the Database having all the metadata, images, and EmuMovies having video for each game in each system? It doesn't exist. The Database has information being submitted from everyone, it's a community effort. Some systems are close, but even a system that has most game entries I can promise you something is off about it. As for a system that has a majority of it's games added, even that doesn't really exist. I can't comment on anything EmuMovies does, but one day we will get there, we just need quality submissions and for our moderators to keep kicking ass when it relates to our Database.
  25. LaunchBox doesn't, but Big Box does. The Marquee stuff is really flexible in that regard. I think someone would need to make a theme to really take advantage of it, but I'm not sure anyone has.
