  1. Most of them are cores in RetroArch though and the command line parameter is much simpler. Unless there is a preference reason: RetroArch.
  2. I've also never had those issues either, with my set up too. If you dropped that much on your SSD though, then I assume you also know what defragging and trimming is, how to keep it clean, how to keep it lean, what software to avoid etc, so I'm not surprised you've had no issues.
  3. I mean, an SSD does provide a speed boost inherently, I'm not saying that it can't, but it most likely wont be noticeable for LaunchBox. I have all of my stuff on a SATA3 8TB 5400RPM drive and it all runs fantastically with just under a 30k library.
  4. There aren't any that I ever made, except for the Mednafen (now Beetle) cores in RetroArch. It's a very similar set up as Mednafen, but Mednafen requires much more complicated command line parameters. What systems are you looking to setting up?
  5. Of course. You'll have to do multiple imports for the multiple locations for the same system, and for the media you go to Tools -> Manage Platforms, double click on the platform, then go to the Folders tab. You can change the paths in here for what you need. Since you might have two locations for the same system, the Game line in this view wont work for you either. That's for the scanning for added and deleted roms. To be honest, LaunchBox and the emulators on the SSD won't give you a big enough performance boost for you to go through all that much trouble, however, if you want to, it is possible.
  6. No, the command line hasn't changed, the structure of the configs them selves have changed. So if you made that config from before 1.4.1, you'll need to remake it. Remove the line and test to see if it will launch first. Then we'll know if that's even a problem.
  7. Of course, no problem!
  8. The LaunchBox.xml doesn't exist anymore, all of that resides in your Data folder. If you delete your Platform XML's (there's one for each of your platforms), it will remove all information related to them, and the games. This way though you can keep media and settings. I would suggest deleting your videos, manuals and music folders manually though, as the Image Clean Up touches images, but this way when you re-import you also won't have to re-download all of your images.
  9. Sorry, not mhz, I'm talking the capacity. I did mean mAh. Whoops.
  10. Yea, those JoyCon batteries are less than 600mhz, so low energy might be a probable cause to a lot of this. I wouldn't be surprised if they did alter it for their needs, Nintendo is not shy doing so.
  11. So yea, the JoyCon looks like mostly battery. I also want a bigger more full teardown from someone like Ben Heck, but in the mean time:
  12. Do you have a custom config created? Is that custom config from before RetroArch 1.4.1? If you never created one, delete the -c line, it's trying to load a config that doesn't exist. If you made the custom config before 1.4.1, then recreate it in LaunchBox and set the command line to the new config name as there are some issues with old configs.
  13. Well that would explain why you know what the hell you're talking about. Perspective.
  14. Yea, I've playing it for stream right now, and some amazing things have happened. Since we're talking about Zelda, and I'm proud of this.... im gonna go ahead and leave this right here (and on discord, twitter...)
  15. Sweet, glad it was sorted. It generally shows other platforms when manually searching though too sometimes, so I am confused as to why not here too. Also, It probably filled in Windows if there is a Descent version on Windows and you clicked that entry when manually searching, but it's not going to automatically assume that platform you're using (unless that Metadata tag is empty and you click on a result for that platform).
  16. Which I see tests being of people, so water being a big problem is funny there. 2.4Ghz is one of the most used frequency. Everything, frikin, uses, it. When I have too many wifi signals going on or bluetooth turned on for some devices, it really effects the performance of a device I am trying to use. For example, FTPed in to my 3DS last night and the connection did NOT want to happen. While it was stuck trying to connect for 5 min, turned off the bluetooth of my phone and pressed the power button on my Switch, then it connected right away. So, in an ever connected world, sure, that is a very big problem that no ones really "at fault" for. If you guys have dual band routers (the extra band is 5Ghz), and have devices that can connect to that band, that helps. I wonder if they chose a lower spec Bluetooth for power draw reasons, to keep the JoyCons battery up there with their very small body. The Pro doesn't seem to have that issue, but I assume it has a much larger battery, so it can afford the higher power draw of a more sophisticated Bluetooth? If they even draw more power? Just a theory. I also wonder if it can be addressed, even somewhat, in an update.
  17. I'll still be here and making videos, just not those.
  18. I haven't had any issues so far. I'm also really glad I got my Switch because the area around here got a total of 67. My wifes Walmart got 15 and the other store that sells Electronics like that (Fred and Meyers) got 52. They both sold out within the day.
  19. I did do a tutorial on merging and expanding roms, but I am no longer doing the tutorials. Or are you talking about for certain systems? For some, in RetroArch there is the swap button, some you might have to switch it in the UI, most games you can make a save state, load the second disc and then load the save state, or in other cases like PS1 you can combine the discs and save space by combining and compressing games in a PBP (which also bypasses archives). If you wanted that tutorial though:
  20. Go to View -> Side Bar or press Ctrl + S and it should come back.
  21. Right, I'll forward this to @Jason Carr and see if any of this info helps. This bug has been my White Whale of sorts.
  22. Do you have those games ID's though? The Database link may not be the same ID.
  23. Yea, I have seen this too, and others have reported it as well. The unfortunate part, from what @Jason Carr and I talked about, is it's extremely hard for him to track this down unless he gets more information. So if you do come across it again, do you mind letting us know some of the info? Game name, platform name, if that platform is set to scrape as, if it's attached to a Database entry, what the Database ID is (in LaunchBox) and a link to that database entry (click on the blue link). If I come across anymore I'll put them in here too so we have something to give Jason, because I've had this issue for over 8 months. It doesn't happen all the time, but it happens enough, and I just forget to put down the info.
  24. Do you have an updated Database metadata file? When you click search it will ask you to update. If it's not, close down LaunchBox and go in to your ../LaunchBox/Data/ folder and delete the Metadata.xml. Open LaunchBox, and it will either ask you to update right away, or ask you again when you click search.
  25. Can I see a screenshot of your Associated Platforms tab?
