  1. CRYENGINE I can't use it (I'm sure it's too complicated for me), but for you developers, the price is right!
  2. Here's an article from The Verge that lists the prices of the games.
  3. I hear ya, Derek. It doesn't fit in my income bracket, but as always, newer electronics prices will fall. Who knows, it could be a good bit less expensive by Christmas.
  4. DOS76 said Argh! Installing update 12 of 194 (Not including Windows 10) I guess this is going to take all night if I didn't have diabetes I'd go grab a Snickers. Yikes, 12 of 194, plus Windows 10! Are you back in action, yet?
  5. How 'bout a couple of Dance Videos? Red Bull BC One World Final 2015 Parov Stelar - Ragtime Cat ft Lilja Bloom (Lunch Break)
  6. Cadet Stimpy said Not so much... In fairness, that darkest spot isn't that dark - there's a bit of a shadow there. But as you can see, it didn't come 'completely clean' by any means. Suggestions for givin' SpreadShirt some grief are welcome. Well, I decided to not be too much of a dick in my message to them, and here's their response: Hello Mike, Thank you for your email. 7. What do you suggest I do, Brad, to insure accurate colors? I going to my local 'T-Shirt Embroidery Shop" soon, and the proprietor wants a JPG or PDF (?) file format for the logo. At this shop, the 'set-up fee' for a logo is about 25$. But it will remain 'on file', so once the setup-fee is paid for, no one else needs to pay for it, but only for the T-Shirt and embroidered emblem. Anyway, I wanna make sure it's just right, in case any other Forum members wanna order though this shop, so they can avoid their own set-up fee.
  8. SentaiBrad said Yea most people don't realize the hours and time that goes in to making games or software. I've been developing games off and on the last 4 years in something like RPG Maker for a similar reason you've stated... and even then it's still super difficult. I know nothing of this first-hand, as do fromlostdays and Brad (except for the Website I dabbled with a couple of decades ago, and the seemingly endless hours of working on it), but my research (and from fromlostdays' and Brad's testimony) reveals there are insane amounts of person-hours needed to develop even a mediocre game. So, I say "hats off" to game developers at any level!
  9. I know! 640K of RAM? What the hell could you run with that? I'm currently running about 32 million K of RAM (32GB). If my math is correct, I have 500 times more RAM than a 640K system.
  10. Close-up of left index finger knuckle. Owner claims he's not rabid. We'll see, I suppose... It's probably pretty lame to post this crap, but since I'm retired, gettin' bitten by a dog is a day of excitement for me.
  11. RGB, I think. When I'm, say, hovering over a blue section, aside from the coordinates of the cursor, in the lower-right corner it says: (R:59,G:190,B:239,O:255) -- Image: 4000 x 667 x RGB - 8 bits/channel Would this clearly indicate it was operating in the RGB space?
  12. This stuff is way outta my league, but I believe it's very good news for Gamers in general. GPUOpen
  13. AMD's Radeon Pro Duo (made w/VR Gaming in mind) is a dual-GPU monster! Product Website (Probably about $1500)
  14. I kept two original, old-school game boxes. One was Doom, the other, DoTT! The IBM Reference Card What was in the box? Here's a small sampling: Fun postcard, Alone in the Dark Code Book, pretty dried-up lizard. P.S. The color on the box (top & bottom) may be a bit off due to some faint tree branch shadows coming through the window.
  15. SentaiBrad said So if you need the color values: Blue: #3bbffe Purple: #bb4ab7 Yellow Green: #ceed07 Red Orange: #ff4900 Ah, crap. Guess I'd appreciate some technical assistance with this logo. I opened the PNG file in Post #54 with Corel PaintShop Pro 8 and ACDSee Ultimate 9 and got these results: (The RGB values were 'calculated' by Google, and the Logo values are what PSP and ACDSee said the color was when I hovered over it). Blue [3bbffe] - RGB 59,191,254 Blue [3bbffe] - Logo 59,190,239 Purple [bb4ab7] - RGB 187,74,183 Purple [bb4ab7] - Logo 148,66,145 Yellow/Green [ceed07] - RGB 206,237,7 Yellow/Green [ceed07] - Logo 242,229,0 Red/Orange [ff4900] - RGB 255,73,0 Red/Orange [ff4900] - Logo 233,88,28 I don't understand why I'm not getting the colors exactly as Brad set them. I suppose I could just change the colors to what they're supposed to be...but it's baffling me.
  16. This is older, but I finally found it (I had e-mailed to my Dist List years ago). I wonder how good he is now? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-zSgCKhV8cY P.S. You may recognize the soundtrack - The same one that was used in the kayaking video I posted a while back. Here's the same guy riding on ice: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=610_4hLEBuk

  18. I just heard an ad on the radio for CustomInk. Don't know squat about them, but perhaps they're a viable SpreadShirt competitor.

  20. Google DeepMind’s AlphaGo AI program has beaten World Champion, South Korean Go player Lee Se-dol with three consecutive wins in a five-game tournament. This is really something! “I kind of felt powerless,” said Lee after his defeat. AI in Go still has some way to go, according to Lee. “Today’s defeat was Lee Se-dol’s defeat and really was not a defeat of human beings,” the player told reporters at a press conference. He added that AlphaGo was a strong program but not the perfect program at the level of a “so-called divine God.” It made different and sometimes superior moves than human beings but the program also has weaknesses, Lee said.
  21. DOS76 said Are you looking at that CPU for yourself? Well, not for the immediate future. I'm gonna wait for the AMD Zen CPU's (and subsequent Mobos) to come out, before I make a move. Plus, that'll give time for my nads to hopefully grow large enough () to attempt a liquid-cooled build, which I'm really gonna try and do next time.
  22. A few Task Manager Tricks 1) Don't be so 'trigger-happy' to end that apparently frozen task! Try Analyze Wait Chain first. From the Details Tab, right-click the process in question for the menu you'll need. 2) Monitor Performance and Resources Look at the Performance Tab. Open Resource Monitor for much greater detail (Memory Section in this example) 3) Search Online for Suspicious Processes Right-click on the suspicious process, then on 'Search online'
