  1. Just the fact that I need to buy a AMD card is a deal breaker.
  2. @scree Good question at the end there and at least I'm not crazy and others are getting the same issues. @CADScott did you go into manage emulators and enable the compression feature from the emulators edit form there is a new checkbox on the form to enable the feature to work.
  3. Yeah google search brought up one post where I guy asks about it and other posters say they don't know what he is talking about. I'd like to set this up I played Ms. Pac-Man today for about 5 minutes and remembered how much I hate it without proper controls
  4. I'd like to have a nice spinner control (would be great for MAME and for some Atari 2600 Ka-Boom) and trackball also but you pretty much have to build those yourself too.
  5. Yeah the only way I really saw was to buy a 4 way joystick and buttons and put your own box together or make your own arcade board but since I don't have an arcade machine I don't really want an arcade control panel. I have the Mayflash USB fight sticks and they are pretty nice but they suck for 4 way games too. I looked for a software solution and didn't find one and didn't see any out of the box hardware solutions so I put it on the way back burner.
  6. Yes you could I have it on this computer It has an Quad core Atom running 32 bit Win10 with 2GB or RAM. I also run it on an Asus VivoTabNote which is basically the same chip, OS and the same amount of RAM and an Insignia Tablet that is the same except that it only has 1GB of RAM I have thousands of games on all of them and it works great once you turn down the RAM caching in options also I only keep front cover art nothing else due to space restrictions although I just bought 2 more 128GB microSD cards so all three of the tablets have the same amount of memory now. Now I'm not going to lie they don't perform like my HTPC's do but what can you expect the Insignia tablet and the MeeGoPad where both cheaper combined than my 6 gen i5 6500 that I have in two of my computers.
  7. Pac-Man blows with an 8 way joystick badly. I looked for a 4 way USB stick but can't find one anywhere it really sucks because some time you just want to play some Pac-Man and it isn't worth playing without the right controller.
  8. Load times from my server .7z 18, 20 and 21 counts in three tests (faster than the local file) .rar 8 count and two 7 counts .zip 13 count three times A stop watch would be more precise so the count speed may vary but this works for simple testing (my god I've become such a geek). I'm seriously considering switching over the only thing that sucks is the format that converts to the smallest file size is also the one that takes the longest to load so I belive that .rar is the best format due to the fact that it has the best load time and the 2nd smallest file size More testing would need to be done with different files to see if their size would effect the outcome but I'm done playing with it for now.
  9. Then I will have to wait for it to run if I move the resources myself and then get the meta it finishes in less than 5 seconds. Plus I would still have that extra meta and images until I cleaned up my db.
  10. Narrowed this down even further when the games is running both .cue/.bin are in the temp folder when you close if the .bin is there the game launches still if the .cue remains after you close the emulator that is when everything gets broken. If I understood correctly you intended for the temp file to be empty after closing the emulator though right.
  11. I'm not actually moving the roms files just the resources when I change the platform name none of my images are videos move they stay in the Arcade folder.
  12. Tested some more and now I can't seem to break the RAR file but the behavior remains true for the .zip This test is inconclusive because I can't duplicate it all of the time I did get the .RAR to break again it is when the temp file for that didn't clear and I tried to use the RAR again closing LB and restarting it make your file usable again though I did test that also now I've seen the .7z file clear a few times in a row so it isn't every time that the temp file doesn't clear.
  13. Ok I started testing load time and I found that the .zip and the .rar only work one time after that the error returns if you then delete it and make a new .zip or .rar that works one time and then breaks again 7z work every time. My load time test results were 7z with the file located on my local computer 23 count .rar on the local computer 8 count (but only worked once) .cue from my network server instantly .cue locally also instantly .zip locally about 10 count (only works once) The .cue/.bin combo is around 730,000kb while the .zip is 365,000kb, .7z is 300,000kb and the .rar is around 330,500 so yeah you save a ton of space using the compressed files but you sacrifice at least so far load time I don't know how it will effect performance. Did more testing after typing the 1st part of this and this is what happens if you launch the .zip and the .rar files the temp files deletes when you exit the emulator if you launch the .7zip it doesn't delete if you then launch the .zip or the .rar file without manually deleting the temp file 1st they no longer work even if you delete the file manually afterwards they both stop working if you do delete it then they both keep working. The .7z file works over and over again even though the temp file is not deleted. So basically if you load the .7z file and let it load completely when you close out of the emulator then the temp file doesn't disappear and it breaks the other files for some reason. Now I don't know if closing LB and restarting it then the files would work again and they aren't actaully broken but LB won't work with them until restarted.
  14. Using WinRAR under tools there is an option to convert archives.
  15. Deleted the temp files and tried again worked perfectly with .7zip and .rar archive using the .zip produces the error every time. Edit Made a fresh .zip out of my extracted folder instead of converting my .7zip file now all 3 formats are working.
  16. It is Sony PS1 using eSPXe Ace Combat 3 the .zip .rar and .7zip contain one .cue and one .bin file. I do see the 7zip folder and even though the emulator never opened there is a .cue and a .bin file for the game in the .temp file
  17. Do you need to have 7zip installed? I'm getting an error message.
  18. Ok thanks I won't even use it but just wanted to test it out for you guys should it work with multiple compression formats.
  19. Tested with both .RAR and 7Ziip not working for me.
  20. What formats should this work with I just tested it using a PS1 game in .rar format and it only ran the bios and then stopped Do you have to set it up in anyway or should it just work.
  21. I'll test it later just to see if it works although i don't use .zip for my games. I'm in the middle of doing a new LB install for just MAME using letters as the platform name its going to be tedious adding all games by letter under Arcade then switching the platform to the letter and then moving all the data from the arcade file to the proper files. Its just that MAME is to many games to just have one huge list this will be much more orderly in my opinion as soon as my Metadata is finished I'll update.
  22. I believe that you need an Alienware computer to go with that which I don't have. I'm thinking of mounting the board to an actual board and adding a real PSU first I have to check if the board has a regular Power supply connector or if it is a special pin size I didn't look into last time I had the case open.
  23. That is strange but not the first time I've heard that this week it also does the something similar in KAT5200 emulator where the keyboard was reported to close the program but the controller would behave like the script didn't exist and open the menu. This is weird because the script is to kill the process when you hit escape which works from the keyboard but all you are doing with your controller is setting up a button combo that is supposed to work as the escape key why they would produce different results is beyond me.
  24. So with the keyboard it exists without asking for conmfirmation but with the controller it it still asks?
