  1. PersonallyI think that it makes more sense that your individual settings get priority over your category settings and that your category settings get priority over your global settings if not how would you be able to set any other settings because the global settings would keep getting priority so setting the other settings would be a waste of time.
  2. Yeah having categorical settings already set up may trump the global settings. Try doing what you are doing but to those settings and see if it changes anything.
  3. It usually works based upon category for me you are saying that you are setting the vertical properties to display on your vertical monitor but for some vertical games the setting is not working.
  4. You would need to be more specific what type of options do you mean? In my case since I have a dual monitor system in my bedroom I have both a horizontal and vertical monitor I have different default settings for vertical games then horizontal games this can be set by right clicking on the category in the side menu ie right click vertical and uncheck the default enforce aspect ratio then I go and change all the vertical games to open on my vertical monitor but that is for my use case I would need to know more about what you are trying to do. If you want to do this on a smaller scale you can do the same for individual games using the same method I described.
  5. The checkbox does not exist if you use MAME as the emulator which I am in my case. If you use any emulator other than MAME then the checkbox is present.
  6. Yes, there are instances where it will automatically detect it but if you import a platform as say Neo Geo or CPS3, then checking that box will use the MAME import rules for a different platform name. IF you named it Neo Geo and used MAME as the emulator than the checkbox for use MAME metadata wouldn't appear also I don't think it would find any results but I will test it myself as soon as my latest platform is done importing.
  7. Ok so it was set to 0 then changing it should definitely fix the issue.
  8. Actually if you use MAME as the emulator then the option for that box isn't even present so there must be and if statement built in that uses a different form if MAME is chosen as the emulator.
  9. I'm going to use the checkbox for the next letter but I don't think it will change the results so don't change that ticket yet unless it is to add the console part but not eliminate the arcade part.
  10. I just started a BitBucket feature request that if implemented would allow you to custom name a platform but still give you the option to choose what section of the database to use for scraping. This would be great for adding both Arcade platforms that you want to have specifically named and certain console systems that don't have separate regional naming like PC Engine, PC Engine CD TurboGrafx CD, Famicom and SuperFamicom. If any one else thinks this is a good idea please vote it up on BitBucket.
  11. Try your MAME.ini file and see if WriteConfig is set to 0 if it is change it to 1. I've had this issue with video settings not being remembered.
  12. I'm just glad LB found my games even though the are on a data drive in a folder named PC games the few it didn't find it wasn't much of a hassle to add manually.
  13. You could always just choose any random emulator and then edit the game afterwards
  14. I don't think that MS considers emulation as gaming or if they do not in the way they do PC games or their games for Windows Store as there is little to no revenue for them involved in it. Now if the issues is effecting modern PC games (which I haven't seen any reports of) then you may see them jump on coming up with a quick fix. If it is only effecting emulators they may not even be aware that there is an issue as I image as part of their overall user base retro gamers make up only a small percentage.
  15. In my experience any file you drag in will start the process. The only time I had an issue is when I had checked the run as admin box in properties (don't remember why I even checked it) then drag and drop didn't work at all after unchecking it everything was back to normal
  16. Wow that is terrible. I still feel like I'm being fleeced though but your scenario is much worse. I torrent like crazy so that would ruin my whole world.
  17. Yeah that looks very nice. I have the forum page bookmarked so I don't see the home page usually.
  18. I left Comcast for Verizon exactly for that same reason not that they are any better either it was just the last straw when they wouldn't eliminate a service that I didn't want or use unless I wanted to pay more. I just was tired of dealing with Comcast over the many long years. I had issues with Verizon Wireless jsut today. My brothers phone was out of contract but he had a device agreement going on his step-daughters line although he switched the phone to his number and he uses it so I simply (or so I thought) wanted to move the device agreement to my brothers number while shutting down the step-daughters line. Finally they did what I wanted but it took forever with customer service and that was after being told by the people at the store that I had to have my brothers phone with me in order to change anything. I hate them all, mostly because I am dependent upon their service while at the same time hating the way that they do business with people.
  19. Always trying to lock you into a contract and now your home internet will come with caps too. Of course this will probably become the norm. How do the caps work do you get shut down, throttled or charged an overage fee. (I opened a tab and searched this after typing and i see it will be in the form of fees from Comcast) I hate all of the carriers (home or mobile it makes no difference) they just seem like greedy profiteers trying to rape the public with there ever increasing prices based on the fact that your choices are few and far between. Limited competition in the market is almost the same as no competition in the market meaning we are all screwed in the end.
  20. Yeah to bad it would cost me almost a G-pack to get a rift and a compatible card and that's with no games. So I'm going to have to wait on getting one. Some of those games do look amazing though.
  21. The initial update went faster than I thought i left the computer while it was downloading Windows 10 but a dialog window opened and I needed to click something (just discovered this a few minutes ago) It was at 19% like 5 minutes ago. I'm going to see my Granny in the hospital in like 5 minutes so I won't know how it went until afterwards.
  22. Yeah I would have to agree with @CADScott on this one. Why would you want a PI3 over a real gaming PC, one that plays PC games and all available emulated systems? Only real reason would be price point. while you could get a decent emulation machine for older systems with a PI3 its still not going to be able to do what a real PC can do. I have a Ouya and a few Android phones setup to run emulators and they work fine for that but they aren't on par with having a half way decently specced modern PC. Plus only Windows runs LaunchBox and that is reason enough to get a PC to run your emulation needs.
  23. Argh! Installing update 12 of 194 (Not including Windows 10) I guess this is going to take all night if I didn't have diabetes I'd go grab a Snickers.
