New configs: EOE: Eve of Extinction Kya: Dark Lineage Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy Midnight Club 3: Dub Edition Remix Kya and Midnight Club 3 were kindof problem-children, and neither one are perfect. I may come back to them at some point, but this is the best I've come up with so far after hours of testing both games. Kya has problems with some of the post-processing effects when upscaling, which can be disabled via skipdraw. The config uses a skipdraw of 5, which disables shadows, some fog, and lens flare, but by and large the appearance isn't changed dramatically. With skipdraw=5, there is one visual bug you'll notice from time to time which is that while standing near/on certain objects (typically destructible boulders or some switches) you'll see a white shadow for Kya. This can be disabled with a skipdraw of 6, but if you do that you start running into some real noticeable changes in special effects, which you'll encounter much more frequently than the white shadow, so I left it at 5. Midnight Club 3: Dub Edition Remix has an issue while upscaling when using the GL renderer or using D3D with a CRC hack level of partial or lower that causes this weird, sporadic, "snapshot ghosting" problem where you'll drive passed a car and you'll see this lingering outline of the car that doesn't move, and sometimes the entire road will just fill with these weird artifacts. If you use the D3D renderer with a CRC hack level of full or aggressive this issue doesn't occur, but then you get this weird, pretty much constant artifacting that occurs on the left side of the screen. It's not super distracting, especially when you're in the middle of a race, but it's there. Between the options of this or the snapshot ghosting I find this to be significantly easier to deal with - you basically have to switch to software mode (via F9) and back again to fix the ghosting problem every time it happens. It should be noted that both of these games work pretty much flawlessly in software rendering. Granted, no upscaling, but if the issues present from the hardware renders bother you too much, switch to software and they'll go away. Both of them are absolutely fantastic games too, by the way - highly recommended. I'd actually forgotten how much I enjoyed both of them until I started testing them for this.

Sorry no new configs last night. I was fighting for literally four hours straight trying to get my new Xbox One S controller to work correctly over bluetooth in Windows 7. Long story short, after much wailing and gnashing of teeth, I ended the night in frustration. This morning I went out and bought the USB wireless adapter for it, plugged it in, and it's working like a champ. With all that crap out of the way, I'm getting back to work on these now.

Honestly I'd prefer if it be in private until you come up with something definitive. I'd really prefer not to have multiple pages of back and forth over one game.

I'm not surprised. As I said, VU Cycle Stealing is highly problematic in most cases. I adjust EE Cycle Rate as a last resort but never touch VU Cycle Stealing as it just creates a ton of problems. You'll see an issue report and then a note of "Not an issue - don't adjust VU Cycle Stealing" allllllllll over the wiki, and it's generally recommended on their forums that you just never touch it.

PC Engine doesn't seem to be working. There aren't a ton of them supported, but they're around. My platform is named TurboGrafx-16 if that matters. http://retroachievements.org/gameList.php?c=8
-
Yes, that's correct. Only specific RA cores support achievements; it's something that has to be implemented on a per-core basis so not all of them do. There's a list available here: https://github.com/libretro/docs/blob/master/docs/guides/retroachievements.md Also keep in mind that there are a lot of platforms (like PSX for example) that don't have achievements period (on retroarchievements itself).

Haha no problem!

There's a link to a page that has it in LB, but alternately login to your account on Retroachievements. Now go to Settings -> My Settings. Then under "account privileges" you'll see API Key: followed by a bunch of letters and numbers.

Something showing your overall achievement score and per-game achievement score while on that title would be nice too. Both of which would probably require theme-implementation in BB (though the per-game score could probably be added into the details pane in LB).

Gotcha, that makes sense.

The files that I attached in the opening post use all of ParaJVE's internal gameIDs. That's how they're able to work when you use -game= as a command-line parameter. I believe @bundangdon was saying the issue was that they don't have file extensions (you don't use file extensions when you start the games via -game= so I didn't add any). I suppose you could rename them all to be .zip or something. EDIT: Or I guess it takes a known rom name (which would not match the files I uploaded) and then injects the corresponding gameID? They wouldn't work if that's the case.

I don't use RL so I can't help you there. This is the sort of reason that I don't use RL

I've added new configs for the below titles. Details are on the sheet. I've started on Midnight Club 3: Dub Edition Remix but I'm not happy with it. That game has some issues. Crimson Tears The King of Fighters 2006 Metal Arms: Glitch in the System Soul Reaver 2 SSX Tricky SSX 3 The Warriors

I can try it out and see. You have to be real careful with VU Cycle Stealing though, that has the tendency of breaking a lot of stuff. EE Cycle rate can too but somewhat less frequently, and I did try altering it when I was testing (not VU Cycle Stealing though). Generally I recommend staying away from both most of the time.

Yeah, I've wanted an original Xbox emulator for years now. So many great games there - even outside of cross-platform titles that were often best there, they had quite a few great exclusives too. One of these days I'll replay Otogi and Phantom Dust on PC, I still have hope. Some day...

I haven't tried it yet, but was just using the PCSX2 wiki as a reference. Admittedly it's often out of date and/or just wrong, but when I see some workarounds say "use software mode" and others saying "objects fall through the world in software mode" that gives me pause haha https://wiki.pcsx2.net/Destroy_All_Humans!

Everything in the list is stuff that I'm planning on trying out in PCSX2. If something has major problems and it's cross-platform I'll scrap it, but generally I haven't run into too much of that (though I do recommend Okami on Dolphin rather than PCSX2). The majority of the titles on the list aren't on GC/Wii though, as far as I know. I'll check those out tonight.

No, I haven't been going in alphabetical order. I've just been picking and choosing stuff off the list. Are the games that you're referring to on the list? I can take a look, if so. If not, it might still be something that I'd want to add to the list anyway.

I've added my current to-do list to the bottom of the opening post in case anyone's curious about the games I'll be working on going forward.

Looking for platform background images
Zombeaver replied to mlsaunders1985's topic in Platform Media
I've made a few, but I've got a long way to go and numerous projects I'm working on at any given time. Not enough hours in the day I've made a few more that I need to add to that set though. EDIT: Added them.
