Version 1.2.0
7,488 downloads
These are system/platform intros that I've made with the primary intention of being used with the CityHunter theme which can be found here. Thanks to CriticalCid and keltoigael for this theme! The file sizes are large, but a high bitrate was necessary in order to avoid these turning into muddy macroblock messes. The addition of digital noise, smoke, VHS damage artifacts, etc. adds a lot of visual information that necessitates a higher than normal bitrate in order to avoid compression artifacts. Believe me, I tried multiple lower rates and they looked awful. These need to be placed in Launchbox -> Videos -> Platforms. Keep in mind that the files may need to be renamed slightly based on the names used in your library - if your platform is named "Panasonic 3DO" rather than just "3DO" you'll need to rename the video accordingly to match the name of the platform in your library. Platforms currently covered: 3DO Amiga Arcade Atari 8-bit Atari 2600 Atari 5200 Atari 7800 Atari Jaguar Atari ST Atomiswave Capcom CPS-1 Capcom CPS-2 Classic PC (a custom platform I've created in my library for post-DOS era PC games of the mid-90's to early 00's) Commodore 64 GCE Vectrex MS-DOS MUGEN NeoGeo Neo Geo Pocket Color Nintendo 64 Nintendo DS Nintendo Entertainment System Nintendo Game Boy Nintendo Game Boy Advance Nintendo Game Boy Color Nintendo Gamecube Nintendo Wii PC Engine PC Engine-CD ScummVM Sega 32X Sega CD Sega Dreamcast Sega Game Gear Sega Genesis Sega Master System Sega Model 2 Sega Naomi Sega Saturn Sharp X68000 Sony Playstation Sony Playstation 2 Sony PSP Super Nintendo SuperGrafx Taito Type X TurboGrafx-16 TurboGrafx-CD Windows Platform Categories: Arcade Computers Consoles Handhelds I realize there's still going to be some outstanding platforms for some people so I'm also accepting requests for additional platforms which I'll work through as I'm able. The clear logos and platform banners shown in the demo are also available in the downloads section: For full effect, I'd also recommend putting some good Synthwave tracks in your Launchbox -> Music -> Background folder and enabling background music in Big Box. You can find a lot of good stuff in the genre on Bandcamp and New Retro Wave's Youtube channel. Here's my current playlist of tracks I'm using in my library if you want some inspiration: Now you're ready to experience Big Box in a neon-drenched haze of cyberpunk goodness Other image/video projects: -
On a completely unrelated note, last night I found all my old Mugen stuff that I thought I had actually lost. I booted it up and it's still workin' like a champ. Many an hour was spent trolling around innumerable obscure sites entirely in Japanese (back before Chrome and auto-translate existed) clicking around blindly trying to find that one character that you couldn't get anywhere else. Sorting rosters, testing, adding in stages, adding in music, more testing, more trolling around the weird regions of the interweb... all of which was tied up in one of the most insane, petulant, and caustic communities I've ever encountered. Weird times. After ensuring that everything was in working order I promptly uploaded it straight to my google drive for safekeeping So, obviously this needs to be in my LB library Normal: Scanlines: Normal - Version 2: Scanlines - Version 2: Normal - Version 3: Scanlines - Version 3:

If Nocturne is what you're wanting it's fine, I'll figure something out.
-
Or multiple folders that contain exes, for that matter.
-
You can run the import wizard. Read my post again. You can drag in .exes and run them through the wizard.
-
I'm a Tales of Phantasia and Tales of Vesperia guy. The PS2 ones are okay but...just okay.
-
Yep, another goodie. I'm not a huge SMT fan but I do like DDS and Nocturne.
-
The Wild Arms games have some pretty good art too (not necessarily from the covers).
-
Digital Devil Saga...
-
The Tales games... (although I'm not a huge fan of the PS2 outings)
-
I was gonna suggest DQ8, Rogue Galaxy, Shadow Hearts...
-
It should be noted that if you do this you have to still indicate an emulator (despite the fact that it's not applicable) if you indicate it's a rom. Once the import is complete you need to edit the entry in your library, go to the emulation tab, and uncheck "use an emulator". You can do this en-masse as well if you import several this way by selecting them all afterwards and doing a bulk edit, telling it you want to "change the emulator" and then leaving the field blank. Or you can of course just press Ctrl + N / add game button and add the .exe in manually, search for metadata, etc.

You had me at TMNT and MLF... kinda lost me at .Hack haha. I'll do it too... but I won't like it
-
Go to the playlist in LB, select the game you want to delete and then press delete or right click on it and delete. It will ask you if you want to actually remove it from your collection as well. Select "no" unless you want it deleted from your library entirely.

The downloads section has been brought up to current.

Alright, here are some for 32X. Hopefully you like at least one of them haha. Next on the agenda will be some playlist logos - Shmups, RPGs, Beat 'em Ups, etc. I'll probably make a separate thread for that though. Normal - Doom: Scanlines - Doom: Normal - Blackthorne: Scanlines - Blackthorne:

I have an Amiga tutorial available here that you might want to take a look at:

I think the idea is that this allows you to add a video/clear logo/etc. that's specifically for the playlist. I think most people probably use platform-specific "intro" videos (or "theme videos" as they're generally referred to around here) as the platform videos rather than random snaps so with playlists you could use a playlist-specific intro/theme video. I do understand what you're saying now though. If that's not possible currently it probably should be.
-
Ehhh... that's how it works already. It's showing all my videos for games in a playlist like normal and I haven't duplicated anything. I mean you don't have to duplicate covers and other media and they show up fine too. If this is what's happening for you, something isn't working as it should.

Lauching games with barcode
Zombeaver replied to TremorsCreed's topic in Third-Party Applications and Plugins (Released)
Can't say I'd use this myself but to each their own. What I would be interested in is some kind of way to implement the NES Classic's QR code manual feature - it shows a code on the screen that you scan with your phone which takes you to the game's manual. Pretty neat. -
It could be any number of things, but it's likely either a problem with your bios(s) or your rips. More than likely the latter. Retroarch + Mednafen PSX core (or Mednafen PSX HW core) is what I recommend, but Mednafen is a lot pickier about rips than ePSXe. .bin + .cue format is what you should be using (with LB directed to the .cue).

A bunch of shmups... It works fine in LB but BB just crashes when I try going into the playlist.
