  1. Cool. I know this is not scientific by any means but I just did a manual input lag test using the 240p test suite genesis rom and the new raw input driver and all I can say is wow. Like I said, I know it's not scientific but I have never gotten a score that low ever. The best I had ever gotten was around 5 milliseconds.
  2. Some of my PS2 stuff is just a single .bin file, PCSX2 is fine with them.
  3. That I don't think is possible with Retroarch Mame, which is why I gave up on it.
  4. Yeah it was a while back so the details are hazy at best. It was one of those things I spent a night figuring it out and once I did it I just said fuck it, not worth the hassle and never looked at it again.
  5. It can be done, i've gotten it to work but I cannot for the life of me remember how. There might be a post around here somewhere where I mentioned what I did to get Atari 5200 working in RA with the Mame core.
  6. To be perfectly honest I didn't hand make this bat file. A while back someone was asking a way to get a NeoGeo set separated out. I happened to have a NeoGeo only set and I just created a .txt file quickly with the command line and in a minute had it edited to copy it out. It was very quick and dirty and worked so I just left it as it was
  7. Ok, good to know. I just noticed that my Capcom stuff wasn't working and was missing that rom file so I just merged the 2 files into a single zip to be safe.
  8. Just be aware that if you aren't updating your rom set you will break your Capcom games that require the Qsound.zip "bios" file. Other games may break as well but the Capcom Qsound stuff was the first I noticed quickly testing out some stuff with 186. Apparently there was an update with the 186 set and now the Qsound.zip file should contain the following 2 files within it: qsound.bin dl-1425.bin Simply getting the update pack and over writing the old one will not work because the update pack only contains the dl-1425.bin file. So either get the update packs and update them properly or get a whole new set.
  9. I believe you load the cue into CD Mage but it's been a while since I have used it so my memory could be wrong.
  10. Yes, this is normal for Demul. You can "cover it up" with something like RocketLauncher if you like or maybe Jason will implement a similar feature into Launchbox sometime.
  11. Even if the scan shows no errors have CD Mage generate a new cue + bin and try it out. Also, if you have a long file name that can cause problems. I have fixed several disk images using CD Mage but it is possible that you may just need a different dump of the game.
  12. I dumped my copy using ImgBurn and it worked just fine. The "Uncorrectable sector 0" error is repairable though. You can use CD Mage to fix it .
  13. I use Retroarch, both the Fceumm and Nestopia cores are fine. As far as the palette is concerned there is no "correct" palette because the NES worked differently and the colours were determined / affected by the TV being used. Many emulators support palette files so you can find the "correct" palette to what want and the Retroarch cores have palettes built into them which you can select from using the core options menu.
  14. I have no idea why it wouldn't work for you then. Both methods work for me using Windows 10 and the latest version of Mesen.
  15. Unless you are using an older version that doesn't support the command line I don't know what would be causing the issue. I'm using the latest release as of this post.
  16. Yup, SSF is more effort to setup with Daemon Tools and using a batch file to mount and unmount your disk image in Launchbox. Here is how Guardian Heroes looks in my Mednafen setup with scanlines.
  17. WIth SSF you will need to mount your disk images with Daemon Tools or have actual disks in the CD drive of you PC.
  18. Ok this is now getting off topic. I gave you the 3 options on emulating Saturn and all the necessary links to get you up and running and we're here to help out if needed. Going on and on about how other emulators and games are is pointless.
  19. Retroarch is a multisystem emulator and uses "cores" for each system it emulates and those cores are built off of open source code of other emulators. The cores are basically offshoots of them. There is more to it but it gets really technical and people who argue whether or not Retroarch isn't an emulator are arguing semantics. It is also cross platform so it's on Windows, Android devices and is the base of EmulatioStation for the raspberry pi. Retroarch is not overly difficult to get setup and working but it can be a bit daunting when you aren't used to it. You can also use the Mednafen which is what the Retroarch Saturn core is built off of and has some advantages over the Retroarch version like analog stick controller support. Keep in mind though that while Mednafen Saturn is the best way to emulate Saturn it is very picky about the quality of your game dumps and there are a lot of bad ones out there. If you want to learn how to install Retroarch and get it up and running I did a written guide for that found here: Brad also did a video on getting it setup in Launchbox here: If you prefer Mednafen for Saturn I would suggest taking a look at a video I did.
  20. It's a start of a list but far from definitive. River Raid is Tier 1 easily. Where is Pitfal II Keystone Kapers Enduro H.E.R.O. Berserk Chopper Command Kaboom Cosmic Ark Warlords Solaris Vangard
  21. Going by what I have read yes for Mame, Retroarch as long as the core supports mouse for lightgun games (Genesis GX does). For Mesen and puNES I don't know but if they support mouse for lightgun then yes. Basically you are just using it as a mouse.
  22. Yeah they aren't cheap but you can replicate it with a Nintendo Wii mote set for Dolphin games and that is somewhat cheaper, just not as good looking.
  23. Old school light guns do not work on a modern display, they simply don't work with them. You may be able to get one to work with an NES to USB adapter on a CRT though I can't say for sure though. The only option on a modern display would something like an Aimtrak gun https://www.ultimarc.com/aimtrak.html which works much like a Wii mote in that it uses a sensor. The emulator also needs to support mouse control for lightgun games.
